Team no bag packed here too. But I also have an end date in sight, so I better hop to. How are you dressing your kid? Hospitals are cold so long sleeves and pants? But here we have serious summer heat, so maybe go home in short sleeves?
I had the same thought and decided on a long sleeved onesie since baby will be in AC in the hospital, car, and our house.
No plans for using BC. If we were to get pregnant without interventions-awesome. Otherwise I am chalking this up to the "only good thing" about IF.
It actually took DH and I two years to conceive DD and we were days away from beginning our first attempt at IVF when we found out I was pregnant. We were told it would never happen for us without IVF. We chalked it up as a "once in a lifetime fluke" and so did our doctors. I never went on BC and 6 months later DS was conceived... then I went on the mini pill and this babe was conceived when he was 9 months. Just saying it can happen!
I am kind of hoping this is what happens for us. Like I want to take the gamble....lol. I also am realistic and know it may never happen this way for us since ours was mainly unexplained once the tubal issue was fixed. I guess I like living on the wild side 😂

We packed outfits with layers. The weather here is unpredictable so we need lots of options.

This is what we are doing as well. Two days ago the high was 40, yesterday was 75. Earlier in the week we had frost in the morning, today the humidity is so high it's hard to move! Who knows what to expect in a week!

I remember our hospital room being soooo hot. And I also feel like they provided newborn onesies (?) and DS was pretty much swaddled the entire time. Her coming home outfit is short sleeved, mainly because they were sold out of the long sleeve!
My current problem is that I never asked my dr what to do in case I don't make it til wed. Never crossed my mind since I'm still 38 weeks and even I think their dates are off by a few days. Now I'm thinking I'm having contractions or cramping but it keeps turning out to be gas. I was induced last time, so I'm an amateur when it comes to identifying labor signs. And even then, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to rush in so they can do the c-section. Wish I asked!!!!
cateyes we dealt with IF (not to the same degree that you did) and multiple losses before having our first. So we didn't use any birth control after she was born - and I got pregnant with DS when DD was 8 months old, and we were shocked when the pregnancy lasted. So they're 17 months apart. It's sooner than we would have planned but we were happy about it!
Along with what to pack for baby, I made sure to pack a couple different options. Our weather is all over the place right now so I have long sleeve onesies, a couple baby gowns, and some short sleeve onesies that she can wear with/without pants. I also packed one or two long sleeve sleepers. I know it seems like a lot but I just want to make sure I have options in case it's cold or super hot.

eucalyptus - for BC, I was on the mini pill last time while BFing, DS even slept through the night most of the time, and I had no issues. My period came back when DS was about 10 months, and even then the mini pill was sufficient to prevent pregnancy (DS gradually tapered off BFing and only stopped after I'd stopped taking the pill and got pregnant). On another topic, how rude of that person to ask when you are due!
My random question: anyone doing anything to protect bed and/or car in case your water happens to break in bed or while driving? I know water breaking before labor happens for a very small percent of women but I'd rather be prepared.
I put a folded towel under my butt in bed for the last three weeks.

I have packed two outfits for DD for leaving the hospital: a long-legged romper with a sweater and a (slightly bigger) short sleeved romper. I anticipate the weather being mild (70s) and I feel prepared with these. I am also packing socks and a muslin blanket in case it is a little chilly.
Last night and today baby has been moving a ton. I know decreased movements are concerning but are increased movements? I may call my OB at lunch just to check...

Does anyone else (especially those with other kids) constantly run through scenarios about what they'll do if they have the baby on certain days?
I'm like "well, if baby arrives tomorrow, I'll call this friend to pick up the kids from school, and call our babysitter to see if she has any availability this weekend...." But I guess I don't have to worry about it anymore once my parents arrive Tuesday. That will be a big relief!
I'm terrified of this. All our family is 10 hours away, except my bil. He's 2.5. We are basically screwed.

I was warned this can happen. I'm trying to think of something quippy to respond with.
What are you thinking? I responded something about having just had a baby. I was buying pads.
I was thinking something along these lines: - "First day of mind-your-own-business" - "I actually just had a baby, but thank you for making me feel horrible about my body" - "When are YOU due?"

I was told to head in. I have my RCS scheduled in a couple weeks and she said if my water breaks or I begin having contractions I should just go in (and to not eat anything before going in. So if I start having contractions at 3am don't eat then head in. If they started at 1pm and I had just had lunch there's really nothing that can be done, but don't continue to eat.) Like you I was induced with my first and have no idea what labor signs really are.

sabrinaml that's what I was thinking so that makes me feel better. I should probably still call and ask. I just can't believe I didn't ask and that my OB didn't mention it. I must have been totally in denial, as its pretty possible at 38+4. I'm just stubborn and dwell on my scheduled plans.
I get the occasional cramping and random tightness. But no other signs that I know of. I think I just need something to worry about right now since there shouldn't be surprises.

eucalyptus I was just reading something about packing a going home outfit bearing in mind you're still shaped like 6 months pregnant for a while. I never got any comments after DS because I didn't really leave the house for 12 weeks! I don't have the option this time.

A mom on my first bmb lapped us all in pregnancy. I'm pretty sure she was an if momma and she was pregnant with twins. She had them pretty early and around the time we all started having our babies she found out she was like 20 something weeks pregnant! It was a surprise to say the least, but an amazing one!

I feel the same way as you. A natural pregnancy would be a miracle so we will not be protecting at all. I also plan to ebf for a bit so there's that. We also are lucky enough to still have three embryos to use.
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015
I was asked today when I'm due. I want to cry just thinking about it.
I've been asked as well. It takes weeks for your uterus to shrink back to its original size. It took 9 months for my uterus to get this big I need to give it time to go back down. It's pretty much why people should never comment on someone's size

Exactly. It's not even the rudeness that bothers me so much, but it's a reminder that I should still be pregnant. Thanks for the reminder, jerk.
Re commenting on size.. I got asked many times when I was due both after I had ds1 (I gained 65lbs), and during this pregnancy before I was obviously pregnant. What happened to the rule of not ever assuming a woman is pregnant unless it's blatantly obvious?

I remember being surprised after my sister had her first daughter (I was in my early 20s and nowhere near kids) that she still looked pregnant. She's tiny, but yeah the uterus takes time and I didn't know that. OF COURSE I would never had said anything about it, but I was so glad I learned it then! So while I would definitely be upset by being asked when I'm due after baby arrives, I think I'd be like "I actually just had my baby. I didn't know that it took several weeks for the uterus to shrink back to normal size, but it does. Now you know!"

I think I didn't realize this until Kate Middleton left the hospital with George. People made a big deal that she was so real about it... and wearing a dress that didn't mask her post baby tummy
Ok here's my stupid question: I just took the last prenatal vitamin I had. I have postnatal vitamins packed in my bag. Do I just start taking the postnatals early or do I go out and buy a new bottle of prenatal even though I will only need at most 14 of them?
sabrinaml that depends. If you're planning to breastfeed it's recommended to stay on your prenatal for the duration of your nursing relationship. I've been on prenatals since 2013 between nursing and TTC.
