Hope everyone is enjoying this awesome weather today!! We got DD a water/sand table and a plastic pool so we've been outside most of the day playing. Currently chilling in the hammock and it feels sooo good.
Drove down to KY to deliver some diapers this morning, stopped at the Florence Mall on the way back. My mom looked for some shoes and Z played in the play area for quite a while. He took a cat nap on the way back and is good to go now. Played in the sprinkler a bit, now getting ready to run a couple of errands. Neighbors are having a barbecue later that I'm excited for.
How consistent do contractions have to be before I start worrying that they're not BH? I've been having contractions every 8-ish minutes for a little over an hour. Not painful at all. But usually I just get BH at night and they go away if I sit down and rest for a while.
ETA: I'm 34 weeks. They'd want to try to stop it if I was in labor at this point, right?

I personally don't think that's close enough, but call and see what they tell you.
I was thinking of you after yesterday and thinking that with you being three weeks ahead, I give you four more weeks tops. I'm not sure they'd stop it at this point. Does size mean they'd consider you 37 weeks along already?

Either way, FX it calms down and this is nothing.
No, the general rule is just because he's the size of a 37-week baby, it doesn't mean his lungs are developed that far. So if it's not BH, I don't know if it would be treated like preterm labor at this point where I should go in and try to stop them, or if I'm waiting for 5-1-1. Or maybe it's just Braxton hicks and I should just so nothing and hope it goes away. I had like 8 hours of painless contractions at the beginning of labor last time, but I had already lost my MP and some other stuff where I knew it was gonna happen soon.
I think you're right on the cusp JoBub. I recall my OB telling me she was ok with 6 contractions in an hour when i was 32/34 ish weeks. Have you had some extra water and tried laying down for a while? Does it lessen them?

I'd call for sure if you're still having them after rest and water for an hour. I'd think they'd stop labor and try to buy a few more weeks if this is really it!

JoBub - I would def. call and see what they suggest at this point. If they don't treat it like you're 37 weeks, they might want to take a look at you and stop things from progressing.
Waiting for a call back. The voicemail message said that he would get paged and call back from an automated system and if there's any sort of call forwarding or caller id (?) I would have to disable it for him to get through? I wasn't really paying attention to the message, but I don't think I can disable the call id on my cell phone. That wouldn't make sense, right?

IIRC, it just comes through as a call from an unknown number. So like if your phone somehow blocked those types of call if would be an issue. Otherwise it will just ring through like normal, but without a number/identification.

Ok that makes sense. Well then he just hasn't called back yet.
I'm laying on my left side now (was just sitting on the couch with my feet up before) and they seem to be slowing down. More like 12-15 min apart now. It's been an hour since I called the doctor and haven't heard back yet. I guess that's the down side of a solo practice doctor?

Yeah, that's kind of sucks. I would have thought one of the nurses would be contacted after a set amount of time assuming he was in a delivery. Glad they are slowing down at least. Hope he calls soon.
If your H is home and with DS, I'd just go in. Chances are at this point, no matter who you talk to, they are going to tell you to just come in. Sounds like you've tried what they would tell you to try in order to ease the contractions. Hopefully it will just be a few hours of monitoring and you'll be home to rest in your own bed.

Or if you need someone to watch DS so DH can go to the hospital with you, let us know.
Still no call. Still about 10 minutes apart. Going on 4 hours. WTF do I do?
I would go to l&d. With C I had timeable BH all the time. I had so many times I wrote them down and they were perfectly spaced. I think I had an irritable ute with him. I remember them acting like it was nbd and there was no difference between BH and real contractions- except that real ones will get closer together and more painful. So unless it changes to labor (closer and more painful) then I didn't need to go in. The only reason I'm telling you to go in is because I don't know your body or your situation and I don't want to give you a reason not to go and you have a 34 weeker.
