What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a tackle box. Just putting on a little more fat.
Name? Pai.ge Mar.ie
Any upcoming appointments this week? Wednesday is my weekly NST and OB appointment
Any new symptoms or changes? Swelling in feet and ankles no longer goes down at night. But still nothing compared to my pregnancy with C. Really wish she would drop, sitting down makes it hard to breathe, but I really don't enjoy standing all day either. I'm still having contractions show up on my NSTs but still don't feel them.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I asked a question on our question thread. It's about prenatal. I really wish I could sleep better (and I really should take advantage of when the crazy toddler naps and nap with him.)
What is the last thing you bought for baby? The "hello world" onesie to match her little sister onesie, headband and bloomers.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Nope
Anything else to add? I'm in laws got back last night, so luckily for them we didn't deliver while they were gone. Next date to avoid is being sent over on Wednesday after my appointment because I don't want the kids to share a birthday.
GTKY: favorite fruit? Probably raspberries, or strawberries (especially when dipped in chocolate) the last few days I've been all about the fresh pineapple though.

cateyes, the only time I had contractions before induction was after sex with DH (granted it was off limits my whole pregnancy) maybe that and nipple stimulation

I'll play
How far? 39 weeks
What's new? Baby is size of American shorthair cat. I find this funny because my cats are 12 pounds!
Name: pretty sure
Appts? Final appointment tomorrow. C-section on wed am... eeeeek!!
New symptoms? My muscles are done. They ache. Also getting some tightening/contractions that wake me up at night
Rants raves? Getting very uppity about DS this week. We have a rotating cast of family for the 3/4 days I'll be in the hospital. I haven't spent many nights away from DS so I'm worried about how he will be. I will also flip if MIL or parents don't stick to the schedule of dropping off and picking up at daycare. Because they all just want to keep him home with them. I'm also not thrilled that since my surgery got moved from tues afternoon to wed, MIL will need to be here tues night. She needs to be heavily immersed in our lives and I really just wanted our last night before baby to be the 3 of us. But now it's 6am arrival at the hospital, so we need her to be at our house.
Last thing I bought for baby? A new rock n play... we brought the old one down from the attic and there was gross stuff all over it
Anything for myself? I've been doing some epsom salt baths recently. It's been helping calm me
Anything to add? I've had a bunch of distractions, and been in denial maybe, but now I'm having a ton of anxiety about the c-section.... figuring I'll give my OB the heads up tomorrow
Also, MIL is still insisting that she bring DS to the hospital to meet DD immediately upon her arrival. She "strongly believes", because she's so selfless, that DS should meet DD before everyone else. When in reality she just wants to be the one to bring DS and be there to be a part of it all (see above). We were planning on waiting at least a day until I was ready. He's a really sensitive kid and I don't want him to see me in pain and heavily medicated. I want to be in good spirits and READY. And I don't want it to be a spectacle. I think it should only involve the 4 of us. DH told her no, but I could see her stopping by with him and saying "DS really wanted to visit today, I couldn't say no" I'll slap her. This is the BS that stresses me out. Anyone else that's been there? Am I wrong in thinking that it's ok to wait a day?
Favorite fruit: not a fruit eater! Maybe strawberries-- on top of cheesecake

starsandshamrocks123, I'm sorry you're dealing with anxiety and an annoying MIL! As this is our first I haven't been in your situation before but I think it's perfectly reasonable that YOU decide when your son meets the baby and YOU decide who brings him to do so. Can you, your H, and your son talk while MIL is there about how he will come see the baby on day 2 and that so-and-so will bring him? I'd also have DH lay it out clearly that MIL will not be allowed in.

teachermomtobe I clearly just love to complain about my MIL! I guess I need someone to drive me nuts. I never thought of talking through that plan when they are all here. I'm sure DS would get it, so that's a great idea 👍🏻

How far along are you? 39w, 2d
What's new with baby (size, development)? She's large and just getting ready to enter the world!
Name? TBD
Any upcoming appointments this week? One tomorrow, and HOPEFULLY it's my last one!
Any new symptoms or changes? Baby has definitely dropped and I can feel a lot of pressure. I'm crossing my fingers this means she's coming any day now.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Beyond uncomfortable at this point. I actually was crying this morning and DH asked what was wrong. I told him I am so tired and scared of being alone with the toddlers when he goes back to work tomorrow. I feel like I can't parent at all anymore and I'm worried about something happening when I'm alone with them.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Diapers
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Not really. This weekend I've been lazy and grumpy. I can tell DH is over my attitude too.
Anything else you want to add? Just really hoping something happens this week! My parents are getting here on Saturday and I'm so excited for some extra help. I'm just praying I'm not pregnant by the time they get here.

starsandshamrocks123 we have the same plan in place that DS will come to the hospital day 2. Not day 1. I have the same concerns about him seeing me medicated and unable or having trouble getting out of bed. I don't want it to be scary for him at all so we are just waiting until day 2 when I'll likely be feeling better and adjusted.
If you think MIL is going to go up despite your requests can you at least make sure someone stays back with DS so your plans for a day 2 meeting aren't spoiled? I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. People need to just respect that you've put a lot of thought into your plans and they don't know better than you do about your family! 🙄
For anyone trying to get things going - acupuncture worked for me (I believe) with DD. I had acupuncture the night before my due date and woke up in labor the next day. My acupuncturist says it has worked so well for her patients that she won't do the induction stuff before the due date because she doesn't want to cause a baby to come early. I see her weekly at this point to prep my body.
Since DS was also two weeks early I didn't do acupuncture for induction with him, but I will do it again this time if I reach my due date!

Yes! Ok I was starting to feel like maybe I was being silly. I think everyone forgets how tough the whole situation is. But I certainly don't forget how out of it I was for at least a day or 2 last time. I want to be able to be totally with it so DS feels comfortable. I have no idea what it will be like this time
And definitely reinforcing the plan tomorrow night with MIL.

I don't want C to visit until day 2 either. But I was hoping that my in-laws and mom would all bring him, have DH get him from the waiting room so have some time as just the 4 of us before the grandparents come in. However, I'm 99% sure that DH will only be at the hospital the day P is born and will be going back to work on day 2, and that someone else will have to bring us home on day 3. Which ruins C meeting his sister first and having it be just the 4 of us for a little while. (My mom would have to come help at the hospital on day 2 since I have to have a support person for the first 24 hours after delivery.)

sabrinaml what a bummer. Hoping it somehow works out for you. Is it planned or is there a chance that you would be delivering on say, a Friday, and then DH maybe wouldn't have to work on day 2? Not sure if that would even help if your H doesn't have weekends off

Planned. My weekly changeover day is Sunday. They don't schedule RCS for Sunday's. OB is off on Monday, and works hospital rotation on Tuesday. (Day it's scheduled for) I asked about scheduling it at 38+5 (a Friday) and she said they would basically laugh at her if she tried, since I currently don't have a medical reason to have it before 39 weeks.

We own our own business and are super swamped right now. He works almost every weekend (some weekends he may only go in for 4-6 hours on Saturday instead of his normal 12, and go back for a similar shift on Sunday.) he tries to get home before lunch/C's nap 1 day of the weekend.
starsandshamrocks123 i'm just catching up and NO you are not being silly. WTF is wrong with people, seriously?! you have good reasons for wanting DS to visit on day 2, but even if you didn't...it's YOUR FAMILY. gahhhhh i get so ragey. i also would just ask her to be at your house at 5 am vs. staying over the night before, but i'm not nice. lol.
i'm just waiting for the attitude we'll get when my MIL finds out my parents are staying at our house with DD1 while we're in the hospital and likely bringing her to meet the baby. we'll have my parents stay in the waiting room while we have some family time, and then other people can come. i won't have to fight my parents to give us alone time, whereas my MIL would be busting down the door. DH is always worried about hurting her feelings, but she spends at LEAST one day a week with DD, and my parents live several hours away and they don't complain. it's not a competition!
Name? We ordered something with her name on it...so I guess it's official now!
Any upcoming appointments this week? Had an apt and group b strep test this morning. I'm 1cm dilated which I'm kind of excited about because last time when I was induced at 41.5 weeks, I still wasn't dilated!
Any new symptoms or changes? Hemorrhoids are back😔
Rants/raves/questions? We had a productive weekend....got the baby's room pretty much finished and opened our pool!
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Picture frames to frame prints we ordered for her wall
Did you do anything for yourself this week? DD is at the babysitter today! I ran solo errands and got Krispy Kreme donuts. I'm debating going to get a pedicure but I'm comfy on the couch right now!
GTKY: I love frozen blueberries...not from the freezer aisle but fresh and then put them in the freezer!
What's new with baby (size, development)?winter melon
Name? Katherine or Samuel
Any upcoming appointments this week? Yep, my 38-week tomorrow. Tomorrow I have a dermatologist appt (to get it out of the way pre-baby), an OB appt., and acupuncture, so I think I'm just going to take a personal day from work and get some more stuff done, too.
Any new symptoms or changes? My right hand is asleep most of the time now! It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm lying down, sitting, or standing - baby has got to be sitting in a way that cuts off my circulation. Carpal tunnel in that hand, too, makes it hard to write or brush my teeth. Luckily I type a lot more than I write.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave - my parent's flight is en route from the East coast right now. So baby can arrive any time of the day or night and we'll have help with the older kids. Even if baby doesn't come soon, my parents can play with the kids and give us a pre-baby break.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? I don't think I bought anything this week...
Did you do anything for yourself this week? I slept in on Sunday and Monday while DH got up with the kids. I also had a hair appt. Friday.
GTKY: favorite fruit? Probably papaya. I love fruit and my kids do, too, so we always have lots of bananas, strawberries, blueberries, apples, pears, etc. around. I'm excited that nectarines and peaches are coming back in season. DD ate an entire container of strawberries on Saturday. Veggies are another story for them...

How far along are you? 38 weeks
What's new with baby (size, development)? An Oscar statuette, log of firewood, or bucket of fried chicken?
Name? Ellie
Any upcoming appointments this week? OB visit today, Ultrasound tomorrow, NST Thursday. It is a little ridiculous.
Any new symptoms or changes? More low pressure, especially if I stand up too quickly. No contractions or other signs of labor, though, so I think she is likely to not come too early.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: a local mom friend just texted me yesterday to arrange a sprinkle/play date for me on Saturday with our local moms group.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? I've returned more things (from baby sprinkles) than I have purchased recently, for which I feel very accomplished.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? I bought myself a pair of leggings.
Anything else you want to add?
GTKY: favorite fruit? Strawberries. I like most fruit except for melon, but strawberries are definitely my favorite.

36+3 Cabbage patch doll, packing on fat Lincoln or Weston 36 week visit friday I tested positive for gbs, which blows because we're 80 minutes from the hospital and my last labor was 3 hours. I cannot sleep because of insomnia, bathroom trips, general discomfort. When I do sleep, I'm dreaming about going into labor. Then when I wake up, I'm wondering if the contractions or water breaking were real and panic for a bit. A wrap style carrier Today ds2 and I went for second breakfast at a diner. Then I got a latte. We finally found my damn maternity clothes in the semi. When I have a whopping month left. However, it's damn nice to have clothes that are made for women hiding a basketball under their shirt! Favorite fruit changes with the season. Apples are year round, but watermelon and grapes during the summer.

starsandshamrocks123 I agree with waiting a day. We didn't bring ds1 until day two. And very likely the boys won't meet ds3 until I come home from the hospital. It's just easier not to try to wrangle them at the hospital.

Name? DH has suddenly decided to make a huge push for his favourite name from when I was pregnant with DS. I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now, and he won't let it go. I also have a favourite that he doesn't like, and I dropped it. I'm just annoyed that we're so close to baby coming and have no name picked out. Anyone have suggestions? DS is(which I love). DH's favourite is Jake (Jacob), mine is Gavin. At this point I think the only name we've agreed on is George, but we're not completely sold on it.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Maternity clinic on Thursday.
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new, cramps in my upper inner thighs keep getting worse and more frequent. At my last appt the nurse thought it sounded like a sign that baby is nice and low.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I think I'm too short for this stage of pregnancy. Baby is low and pushing on my cervix and into my ribs and toward my chest at the same time. It seems like he really likes to stretch, too.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Diapers and a new infant tub.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? No
Anything else you want to add? I was up for 2 hours last night and couldn't sleep with some mild contractions. Today I feel totally normal but it made me panic about being unprepared, so this morning I moved DS's car seat and installed the infant seat, and I'm going to pack my hospital bag before I go to bed tonight.
GTKY: favorite fruit? I love almost all fruit, though I am not a fan of bananas. Right now I am eating a ton of watermelon, and I can't wait for the BC cherries (and other fruits in general) to start showing up!
