1. We went shopping today and I picked up enough fabric to make 12 baby blankets and some burp rags for friends that are having babies. 2. We also got paint and new curtains for our room. 3. Dd1 has her second t ball thing tonight. I hope it goes as well as it did last week. 4. I want to take a nap.
1. First day with the new hire, she quit by lunch. Terrific. 2. Up side is that now I won't need to go out of town anytime soon. 3. It's supposed to storm tonight, shocker. 4. Going to call insurance and see if we can get money for the hail damage to our car since it's fully covered. Anyone done this? How does insurance work after that? No idea if the hail damage will total it or not. Obviously it still drives so will they still insure it if we got paid out?
Was it an entry level job? What happened? I really don't understand going through all the trouble of getting hired and onboarded and then walking out Day 1.
Yeah entry level auditing position for the state. We get a lot of new grads that come in and then bail when they see they can make more for a private firm as an accountant. It sucks. I just feel like the last so many people I've trained have bailed so quickly. We're like a damn merry go round.

Lame. Maybe the state needs to sweeten the deal or up the pay or something.
emmygirl, they'll total it out if the cost to fix the damage is more than the car is worth. If you accept the payout, you can't keep the car. You have to sign the title over to them and they'll take the car and salvage it for parts. If the car is safe to drive with the damage, it's unlikely they'll total it.
1. DH left for work today. He was only home for a week but I was relieved he went as sometimes him being home creates so much more work for me. I feel horrible even thinking this as I do miss him.
2. I ordered thank you cards for DD2s baptism gift and had them pre printed with a message, thanking everyone for the gift and for sharing her special day. I'm going to be passive aggressive AF and send them to DH's family who sent a gift (money shoved in a card) but refused to come to her party. I don't care.
3. DS went on holiday today with my parents to their new caravan home. He's having a great time, but I miss him so much. The house is so strange and quiet without him.

It's a good gig if you don't only look at pay. They try and get us better pay but we're government workers so they can only do so much. But the vacation and sick time are good plus lots of paid holidays. Our healthcare plan is amazing, a pension, and now we get paid maternity/paternity leave. Unfortunately people right out of college typically don't weigh all of the other benefits and focus on pay. It's definitely an issue that the state has and causes a lot of turn around. I've got nine years in so I'm sitting in a much better position but can see why it's not appealing to some. Plus nobody wants to be the jerk tax auditor. Not what I thought I'd be when I grew up 😜

lulu don't feel bad for feeling like that when your Dh is home. I often feel tge same on Dh's days off. The girls and I have somewhat of a routine, and Dh being off can throw a wrench in it. Also, did the nurse ever come out and convince your Dh that his family are horrible cowboys and the kids shodnt be left alone with them?
