Saturday we drove out to the coast for Lobster rolls and a sand sculpture competition. It was cool and overcast so a great day to walk around, and it wasn't overly crowded. There was a pretty nice playground at the beach so Dd was really happy with that. We drove closer to home to get ice cream so the kids could sleep on the way. After ice cream, Dd had to pee and couldn't hold it til we got home, so we had our first travel potty in the back of the car experience.
Sleep has been rough here and Saturday was terrible so we all got up around 7:30 and hung around home yesterday. I made a big breakfast. After lunch we walked around our lame little farmers market just for something to do, but mostly it was a chill day at home.
I've been doing good with working out, and looking forward to it now so my goal is to keep that up this week. A lot of my cardio has been good walks with the kids, but that will be a challenge now with the heat. H's birthday is this week so I need to solidify my plans for that.
microworm no idea what we're getting ds either. His party is in 2 weeks but we'll probably give him his present from us on his actual birthday, so we have a bit more time. I don't have a theme or anything for his party though!
His Amazon wishlist right now is Little people, and a vtech go go smart wheels set. These are both things DD has that he loves and we wouldn't mind having more of. He also loves these www.melissaanddoug.com/pull-back-vehicles-baby-and-toddler-toy/9168.html, dd's vetch bike, dd's fisher price laptop, magnadoodles, magnatiles, and duplos. I'm having a hard time coming up with much that we don't already have, or that might be ok to have a similar item that he's not stealing from Dd.
comicSans ds2 is mostly interested in whatever ds1 is playing with, and vice versa. It's exhausting. I feel like no matter what we get ds2, his older brother will want it and claim it even if it is a baby toy. We have so much stuff already.

I don't know if I'll get ds2 a gift. Now I'm all confused. He's totally not going to care and there are toys everywhere!!!
This is how I feel. But then I feel guilty.
We went to Disney on Ice the day after her party so she didn't really get a gift either. She honestly doesn't need anything. I struggled trying to figure out what to buy with the gift cards she received for her birthday. She'd rather spend her time trying to find a door to open and close.

Low key weekend for us and exactly what we needed. Saturday we did lunch at the park and then stuff about the house. Got ds a cheapish balance bike and helmet (helmet was as much as the bike, lol).
I made Sunday breakfast for Dh and then we went to mass and grocery pick up. Had dinner at my parents for Father's Day.
Last night I did food prep for the week and baked some kale for snacking. I know, baked kale? I hardly even recognize myself anymore.
Goal this week is to continue gluten free eating and exercise.

We had MIL's funeral on Friday. Then DH decided we needed a change of pace so we took a daytrip to Storyland Saturday. We tried out the DVD player in the car for the first time on the way there/back and the kids loved it. Watched Minions, Cars and the Jungle Book. They did not like the Jungle Book, thought it was boring. It totally Is boring, but I had such fond memory of it from when I was a kid , weird.
Sunday spent 6 hours cleaning MIL's house. Hit the last hour of the RH warehouse sale, but still didn't find the bed or dining table we were looking for. Then I got home to a trashed apartment (after DH decided to move out the couch and mattress, made a big mess in the process) and BIL stayed there (also made a big mess) and DH's aunt stayed there (she cleaned the kitchen for me, thank goodness). So more cleaning and laundry for me.
So glad the kids are in camp this week, because I can use some down time (in the midst of packing and putting together their new bedroom)
