My husband has Non mosaic KFS. We did several sperm analysis and they came back with zero sperm. We will need to proceed with microtese and ivf. Is it best to do microtese and egg retrieval and ICSI on the same day? What about 24 hours apart? We don't know what to do as the hospital affiliated with our urologist said they cannot coordinate same day microtese as Egg retrival and ICSI. What hospitals in Massachusetts, CT, or NY do it the same day or even 24 hours apart? Should we definitely shoot for a hospital that does not have to freeze the sperm if some is found? Please help! Thank you, Laura
Married 10 years. DX: AMA, DOR, endo, one tube, +NK, homozygous MTHFR C677T, and abnormal endometrial function test. MFI with high DNA fragmentation and pericentric inversion on chromosome 9.
laurat I don't know how helpful this will be but we were using microtese as a back up plan in case there wasn't enough sperm the day of (H had a count of about 3-5 and we froze 4 samples). We didn't need to do it but the plan if we did was for him to drive to the urologist (same time as I was having ER), have the procedure, have someone drive him back to me, and do ICSI same day.
Thank you so much! Yes, I keep reading it's better to do fresh microtese and not frozen. were you told of any risk to doing both procedures on the same day? I understand the risk of not finding sperm but we are thinking to having back up donor sperm in that case. I also understand you need someone to help with driving. Were there any other risks?
Nope laurat no other risks I can think of. Just logistically it may be difficult if you can't find an ivf clinic that works with a urologist to coordinate same day. Having backup donor sperm is a good idea

Hi, I hope you are doing well, Sorry to hear about your husband. I think it can be cured with treatment. Ukraine have the best clinics for IVF. I recommend you to visit Ukraine clinics for the good results. Hope to hear good news from you soon. I wish you happiness and luck. Take care
Hi Laura, Hope you are doing good. I am sorry to hear about this issue with you. As you know sperms generate slowly when you age level increases. Most of sperm dead soon. Sometimes we cannot imagine why this happening with us. But the reports are the better solution. Well, I suggested you go through surrogacy. You don't need to shoot the hospital you should change your doctor. Actually, through IVF, the chances are lower and you get fed up soon. If you wanna go still through IVF then you have to wait for the right time and try again and again. But if you think the failure remains same then you can move through surrogacy. Well, My prayers are always with you, Good luck.
Hey there, Laura. I hope you and your partner are well. I just wanna drop in and say good luck. I hope things get better. Genuinely wish it works out for both of you! Lots of love and baby dust your way. You deserve it.

Hi dear. How are you doing? I hope its all good. I am really sorry to hear about your problem. I know it must be hard. IVF is really a great choice. I hope you get success with it. I am sorry I am not very knowledgeable about it. I know it can get hard too. ITs a complicated issue. I wish you good luck. I hope you get what you want. Take care. good luck. lots of love and support to you.
Hi there! I hope you are better now. I think you should listen to what your doctor is suggesting you do. Obviously, they know much better than you and us. I hope you did research before opting for that clinic. Clinics play an important role in this. Your chances of success depend on the success rate of the clinic you are opting for. I also researched a lot of time before I went for my treatment anywhere. I had to opt for a clinic abroad in order for my treatment but I m glad that things worked out for me. The clinic's success rate is something that everyone here is aware of. So I was quite hopeful even in the start and things were even much better then I expected. So just stay calm and make the right decision. Good luck! Stay blessed!
Hey, I hope you are well. I think you should definitely freeze them. Just in case this is the best chance. Things like these do seem to fluctuate so you have to make the right decision at the right time. What are the doctors saying on this matter? Do listen to them as well! Their opinion matters a lot. I hope things go smoothly for you. Just make sure that the clinic you are visiting is experienced in this matter. The doctors if are professional things do go well. Good luck to you. Sending baby dust your way. I myself am going to start the IVF cycle. Really hoping that things work out for us. A little scared but excited at the same time.
