Should I wear braces cause my child says so?

Hello! I am 32 years old. I have two kids. One is seven and the other is five. I have crooked teeth and I have always wanted to correct them but back then I never had the money or the time. Now my kids keep asking me why I have such teeth and compare me with their friends' parents- their looks and the way they dress. I want to change my appearance and look more pretty, but I think I am too old for wearing braces. Moreover, I think people would make fun of me. I don't want to be another Ugly Betty at the office. I have an appointment next week at a clinic in Houston to get my orthodontic braces done. Has anyone got braces after their pregnancy and after their 30s? Do help me out by sharing your knowledge and experience stories. I hope I am not making a fool out of myself.

My mom wore her braces after 32 or something. She had me and then my brother by then. It was a smooth process for her. Maybe a little discomfort here and there. That's it.

Hi there,
you can wear braces - there are lot's of grown ups doing so. I'd wear braces because you want to have or because you have to but not because others tell you so. It is all about yourself!
