Last night the boys decorated pumpkins at my mom's house; they turned out really cute. And she made us dinner, part of which was roasted cabbage, really delicious!
I've been having shoulder pain and headaches for like a week, on and off. I think I need to make a chiro appointment. Buy even feeling low I sewed the base of V's ghost costume. Trying to figure out the tulle bit now. Might switch gears and start A's costume instead.
Remember me complaining about how thanksgiving was turning out to be crazy stressful. It kind of came to a head this evening with H and now BIL/girlfriend (never met)/girlfriend's daughter (never met) said they could get a hotel. I feel kinda bad bc I know H likes his brother to stay here but it won't be the same as just him anymore anyway. I feel much relieved as our house is not equipped for that many guests (more guests than people that live here haha). ETA: MIL and FIL are also staying with us.
N's Halloween party is Friday night and I'm making some of her costume. I have been glueing on foam sprinkles to her shirt she will wear under her ice cream cone tunic. I still have to add a straw-painted-brown stem into her cherry (big Christmas ornament) headband I made. Tomorrow I'm going to put brown tape onto khaki pants to look like a cone. Then Anna's going to be Belle with a dress up dress we already had. I need accessories for her but I'm slacking on that... I'm running out of time!
dreemkin had a wrinkle in the costume situation. Sunday we were on the phone with my sister, and she asked “what costume do you have?” Well we have the parts to the African violet costume but haven’t assembled. So G thinks very literally about the question for a few seconds, then replies “a Dinosaur.” Because he has a dinosaur costume.
So now he wants to be a dinosaur fuzzy African violet.
I’d bet a cupcake he ends up wearing his construction worker outfit, same as he did last year when push comes to shove & it’s time to put on the dinosaur costume.
We went to meeting today to go over the results of N's speech eval at school. Speech path said during the eval she cleaned up her speech and they do not see any issues. So she did not qualify for services. This is a good thing and I should be thrilled about it but at home in conversation we see it. Hopefully she'll just grow out of that in time since she has the ability to do it right (when tested in a formal situation).
Today I am going to groom the dog since he will be back over at my parents house this weekend and it is much needed! It feels like winter today though unfortunately. I thought I'd have one more chance to do it outside but it's low 40's gloomy and breezy - garage it is!
PS now I want roasted cabbage because that sounds amazing!
It was so good! It was thick sliced cabbage that was topped in a mix of butter, olive oil, salt and pepper, garlic and paprika, roasted in 30 minutes, then typed with parmesan and roasted another ten minutes.

My parents are here, they leave tomorrow. I love them but also glad they are leaving.
S is not an easy child right now, her tantrums and willful disobedience is tough. Add in staying up past 10:30 the first two nights they are here (after being put to bed at 7:30 mind you, there goes her naps) she has not been terribly fun. My parents know this and understand but it still sucks hearing them say they have enjoyed C better, my mom name one of my nephew's as her favorite, that S isn't pleasant to be around.
I came home to water in my sunroom yesterday, thanks to a broken sensor on the washing machine. But we have a brand new shop vac and a shiny sunroom floor now. The only thing is to see if the washer is worth repairing. I'm going to try to get off early to go down to the shop with DH.
Also V woke up super early today, and that with a unfortunately late before due to the water issue, makes me glad DH is hone today and not me, lol. But my mom will be stopping by so he can do a phone interview without distraction. I hope he does well.
aggiebug that was not right of your parents to say. Threenagers are for real. When A starts leaning that way again, we amp up discipline/time outs. It's easy to get exhausted doing it especially with another LO but I really think in the long run it works! At least N has turned out pretty good 😀
lilyelayne we tell them ahead of time they have to pick one costume and it will not change. There's just no way I can keep up with their ever changing minds. Unless it's an easy alteration/addition. Is J dressing up?
How is everyone's potty training going? I know a few of our LOs were still struggling grr. A finally has it for good now. She even did great traveling. I thought she was on her way at night, being dry for weeks, but this morning her pull up was wet. So we are continuing with that for now - she doesn't seem to care.
Oh and potty training is 👌. I looked at H a week or two ago and said you know I don't think we had an accident this week. It was crazy. She is solidly trained now. Biggest fight is going potty before we leave and that is her doing so well she doesn't want to be told. Well that and just being a stubborn kid.
kartish oh! Sounds like no damage though? That's good. GL to DH with his interview!
aggiebug I am not a chocolatey treat lover either and I love these! They are pretty chocolatey but it's not a sweet chocolate if that makes sense. And then the peanut butter comes in. So he might be okay but I guess it depends. I wonder if you could modify to a vanilla cake...??
dreemkin thanks! That is helpful. We never have PB treats as my H dislikes them, however it's C's favorite food in any fashion. He is not a big seems person and I was thinking PB is the obvious flavor for him but so much of it is chocolate and PB. Hmmm what to do what to do.

aggiebug wow. I can’t believe your mom said that about S, certainly not to you. My mom has strongly implied G’s threenager behavior is due to my parenting, but that’s way better than demeaning who he is as a person. Hugs! Thank goodness for y’all so I know his threenager behavior isn’t due to my parenting 😬
dreemkin since we hadn’t made the African violet costume & we already own the dinosaur costume, I’m cool with it. I mean, I’m kinda bummed, because I love the African violet idea. But whatever, it’s his costume.
