J has a cold and would only sleep upright last night, so I’m laying down with him for a nap now. He seems less congested so hopefully he’ll sleep this way.
We had a chill night with local family for NYE; everyone left by 10:00. I went to bed right around midnight. The girls made it to 9:30 or 10:00. Today we took down (most of) our Christmas decorations as the tree was really in need of de-ornamenting.
I can say it now: I can't believe that we stayed healthy through the holidays this year!
Maybe shopping at an outlet mall tomorrow with my sister.
I couldn’t understand why this thread was named the middle of the week lol. I’ve officially lost track of time. Feels like a Sunday since I’m Back to work tomorrow. And after 4 days off with the kids I can’t wait! Round of applause to the stay at home moms.
The kids have been off their schedule and just monsters the past few days. Dh and I are coming down hard with the punishments bc their behaviour is getting worse and we want to nip it now before it’s out of control. But then I think is this normal kid asshole behaviour or are my kids just the worst?! Ugh maybe our expectations for behaviour are too much but I’m getting sick and tired of the messes, rudeness, terrible listening, selfish attitudes, etc
Whole family is a bit under the weather today, just run down after the holiday craziness I think. We left the NYE party early last night, A was being clingy and fussy and V had a meltdown when one of his friends left. But today we just chilled.
I am worried about my girl cat. She has never been the best at the litter box, but now it seems she's just peeing on the mat now. She's 17 years old, 18 in April. And I think it's common for older cats to have more litter box problems, but I'm going to try a new box that's lower to the ground to see if that helps.

Arthritis is definitely a possibility. Especially if she is making it close but not into the litter box. Lower is definitely my first suggestion. Cosequin on her food can help too and there are some pretty great NSAIDs for kitties these days so definitely talk to your vet. Kitties don't show pain well but they still hurt.
mishka29 the holidays have been hard on G, behavior-wise. He’s already improving with a couple days at home. I’m sure getting back to the normal routine will help everyone.
Hey thanks lilyelayne I've had a migraine since early December and with that and lots of guests for the holidays I just never got to posting. It's a hard week this week but next week is a new week and life marches on.
mishka29 I give a little leeway with the holidays but I have been issuing time outs! Keep with the discipline and hopefully they will get back to normal. If not then maybe a different way to get through to them is in order - chore chart, earning back toys, etc. kartish hope you figure out your cat problem! lilyelayne sorry for the illness. Hope you are all better to enjoy your friends' visit. aggiebug oh no! Hope your migraine lifts stat.
Today H finally went back to work haha. I went to hallmark for their 75% off Christmas merchandise. My sister joined but she hardly buys anything. That is not a fun type of person to shop with. It makes me feel guilty for my bags of goodies. My mom was supposed to join but she wasn't feeling well.
My OOT sis and nephew are coming up tomorrow. My sisters are taking N on her birthday auntie day. She chose bowling this year and olive garden (again).
Hugs aggiebug. Do you have a neurologist in your not-so-new city? A chiropractor? Someone who will run an in-depth hormone panel? I remember month long migraines and I’m so sorry for you.
Thanks aggiebug the lower box helped right away. I'm also going to look for that other stuff for her food as well. I appreciate the advice. Hope you are feeling well in the new year.

I have never seen a neurologist before, I've had migraines my whole life but never frequently enough or bad enough to feel it necessary (ibuprofen, Excedrin worked!). I have an appointment with one though on the 29th. I had one like this in April too so it's time to get some help.
