Hi, my daughter is 6 years old. She suffers from autism. Now, this has started affecting her eyesight too. I have heard that autistic children normally have issues with their eyesight.
She wears glasses. Her power is +4.5. Apart from the vision problem, she has got several other eye problems too. She doesn't usually maintain eye contact with people. Whenever she sees a spinning object, she keeps on staring at that continuously, without blinking her eyes. She also finds it difficult to coordinate her central and peripheral vision.
She is very careless in handling glasses too. She breaks glasses every time and I have to purchase new glasses for her almost every month. A contact lens is also not a good option for her. I have heard about lasik eye surgery from a friend of mine in Boston. Will there be any complications if she underwent a lasik surgery? Is it recommendable? Please give some genuine replies and suggestions. Thanks in advance.
