Hey-oh. A lot of baseball is happening. Rooting for the Astros and nats means baseball everyday 😆. Nats could win the series tonight though.
Outside baseball a college buddy of H's is in town for work this week he will be staying at our house Thursday night. And my parents are coming on Saturday. I gotta clean up for my parents, less so for the friend.
aggiebug being a cubs fan, I was so happy to hear the the cardinals are out! Other than that, not really following baseball anymore. Hope the teams your rooting for do well!
Yesterday I cleaned and laundered the guest room. In laws are coming in for my nephew's 1st Birthday party. His actual birthday was yesterday! I can't believe it's been a year already. Anyway, continuing with the bathrooms today. I always say that H is going to help with the deep cleaning when they come but with the nature of my "job" it usually falls on me but I hate it. 😠I only "like" light cleaning lol.
Yesterday N had RE and they asked families to donate socks or underwear for Undy Sunday. So I bought socks for her to bring and she said it felt so good. Awareness that we are lucky to have what we do, and to help those less fortunate is a big thing I try to impart on my children so that was huge!
Our wash machine has been acting up. It's doing this annoying thing where it's draining as it's filling. They say it could be a drain problem but we haven't fiddled with any of that and it's set up properly as far as we can see. Might need to call someone out if it keeps up! The set is only 5 years old. Every day I hold my breath that it works when I reset the machine because I do at least a load every day to keep up.
So yesterday ended up being a day. Got a call around noon from N's front office. Never a good call. N fell off the playground equipment and was in the nurses office with a sore arm. When I got there she wouldn't move her arm and would only hold it with her other one. So as H was coming home I made an appointment with our pediatrician office. The doctor examined it and said that we should take her for an xray because she couldn't rule out a fracture and yup. A bone in her elbow is broken. Poor thing! We have it in a sling for now until we see the orthopedic doctor on Friday, to discover the next step. I practically gave her a whole bowl of candy corn autumn mix.
So me and the girls are home for the day and then have to figure out how tomorrow will work with preschool in the mix. N says it hurts a lot but is actually doing really well for a broken bone. I was up around 4am giving her more ibuprofen but otherwise she did great! She's a trooper. I feel horrible. And even though it occurred on someone else's watch I feel like a bad mom. Both H and I have never had a broken bone (except a possible tail bone I had as a kid) so this is all new to us. I am so glad it was not a head or neck injury but still you guys...my baby's perfect elbow is broken. I'm sad. She's sad. We're all sad.
Went to the orthopedic doctor today (who had horrible bedside manner btw). He showed us where it was broken on the xray and said a cast should prevent the need for surgery but she has to take it easy and let the bone heal properly. She needs it in a cast for 4-6 weeks. Poor baby! She's handling it so well though. But she said the cast is hot lol
S woke us up with croup at 4:30. She was having a hard time stopping her cough and with my parents arriving today off we went to the ER. 4:30 is an excellent time to go to the ER though 😬. She is fine, it's a mild case and hopefully the one dose of steroids is enough.
Now all of us but C are tired 😄. Husband stayed home of course but he couldn't sleep with us gone. Thankfully he is awesome and we got the rest of the cleaning done before the parental arrive.
We took MIL out for her birthday to a whiskey pairing. It was a nice dinner. I don't drink, but the food was delicious. MIL seemed to enjoy the night out.
Today is work and should be a very quiet day up there. I'm hoping to get some things done and out of the way for next week, since I want to leave early later this week for the pumpkin train.
A has been super clingy lately when I'm leaving for work. He also hasn't been sleeping well, waking up more than once in the night. I'm exhausted and so is he. I'm guessing he's maybe growing or I don't know what else.
aggiebug feel better S! Hope you still have a nice visit with your parents! kartish that dinner sounds wonderful! Hope work is quiet for you and A's sleep improves - that is so frustrating!
ILs are in town but stayed at H's sister's new house last night. Gasp! It's a nice break lol. Yesterday was nephews 1st Birthday party at the other sister's house in the country (he's a farmer). It was a nice party and he loved one of the gifts from us so much (a Fat Brain toy called Dimpl). I was proud!
I don't feel well today so I skipped the gym this morning. I think I have an infection going on in my head (sinuses) and I woke up dizzy, headache, and sick to my stomach. It's probably allergy induced. Especially being out in open air surrounded by fields and such. Fall allergies are bad for me yay.
