Ha looks like we posted at the same time. That never happens these days.
Hello February!
Hard to believe it's February. Our birth month, although 3 of us still here have kids with birthdays outside of Feb 😄
This is a sleep house today in a sleepy city. Last night was crazy! First we had such fun with friends over to enjoy the game and the after game celebration was much louder than a typical 4th of July 😄. So fun.
Yesterday was my ENT appointment. I worked myself up over it but it went really well. He was really nice. He said that for now my ear infections are not frequent enough to do anything further but he wants me to see him with when I get more. He also prescribed me an antihistamine type nasal spray to use in addition to the one I already use to see if that helps. They tested my ear drum and hearing to make sure my hearing is bouncing back fully after each infection. All that was good! I have a lump behind one of my ears. He wants to check that out so I have an ultrasound of it on Thursday. Starting least invasive.
A has a new program starting today where she stays after totschool (2 days a week) for a few hours to get some extra subjects like math and science. She will be eating lunch there during it and she's super excited. I'm sad. But it WILL be nice to have some extra time at the gym. It'll be good practice for next year for her. She is a younger 5 than N was if that makes sense.
It’s birthday season! Happy birthday to all the 5 year olds!
We did a gymnastics party for the girls on the weekend. It’s was a lot but fun. We are off to great wolf lodge for their bday gift this weekend. That should be fun.
DH and I booked a trip to Vegas for our 10 year anniversary in April. Neither of us have ever been so we are looking forward to it. Any suggestions or advice? We are there for 4 nights and we were hoping to go to the Grand Canyon but I hate wasting so much time on a bus or in a car. I suggested to DH that we do the helicopter tour! Not too sure about that, but we’ll see.
mishka29 happy birthday to your girls! I haven't ever been to Vegas either. DH and I said we'd go to Hawaii on our 10 year and that was this past September so... yeah... we ended up having other plans take precedence. Maybe one year we can still do that.
My ultrasound of the mass was this afternoon. I don't know what to expect but then I went down the Google hole and now I'm a little anxious to hear the results. And worse, we have ILs coming tomorrow for Christmas (yup ya heard that right) and I don't feel like it. Like at all. Ugh. And I'm up like 5 lbs from A's birthday/superbowl weekend and stress snacking. Feb is turning into a stressful month when it really should be an easy one...
mishka29 hi!!!! I went to Vegas for the first time this summer and it's interesting. It's never really had the allure to me and it was about as expected. I think the grand canyon is pretty fantastic but also you could do a whole trip and spend days there so it's kinda depends on what you enjoy. As for Vegas specifically definitely look through the shows and pick a few to go to in Vegas. Circe O was amazing, and there are some great comedy shows.
Hotel cruising is interesting but also so deceptive. Oh that hotel is 2 down not bad umm that is 2 huge city blocks away. The Bellagio is a must see, I found NYNY really interesting, they have city blocks around the casino floor with a lot of variety of foods. Food on the strip is pretty much all high end so plan to spend a LOT on food or take an Uber away from the strip. A lot of the restaurants are owned by or famous for some well known chefs so if that's your thing it's cool. Look for hotel deals with a free breakfast, it won't be like a buffet but a sit down breakfast at their restaurant ours was amazing but with it a part of our room it made breakfast easy and was worth every single penny. Then casinos are dead in the morning but get swarmed at night right before lunch is kind of a nice to to go if you don't like a lot of smoke or crowds. Drinks are flowing (free if you are playing) , crowds are light and dealers can often be more relaxed with you.
My ILs live in Scottsdale AZ and I'm hoping to rent a car and head to the grand canyon for a small trip-in-trip one time when we are there visiting. Would love to see it and also scared of falling off the edge...lol

First hugs I hope you get answers soon and some peace of mind
Second do it!!! It's worth it, and you won't fall in haha. I get it but once you get there you realize it's actually not *that* easy. You have to want to test the limits to even try.
I want to go back. The trip when I was a kid got amended thanks to car troubles so I would love to have more time to explore. It is absolutely breath taking. Man now I have like 4 trips I want to plan 😂.

Fx for good news! Hopefully the visit will take your mind off the waiting.

Great tips! Thanks so much. Yeah I was never super excited about Vegas but we couldn’t agree on anything. I wanted a resort, DH wanted NY. I didn’t want to be a tourist all day long. At least in Vegas we can hang by the pool and just chill a bit.
dreemkin I hope you get the results back quickly and that they ease your stress!
mishka29 I really enjoyed visiting the original LV strip, now called Fremont Street I think. It had a fun atmosphere and a really fun murder mystery show at one of the hotels. Other than that I second everything aggiebug said. And a helicopter tour sounds amazing. We're only every driven by the grand canyon with quick roadside stops. It'd be nice to go for a real visit and explore.
I have a 5 year old now! V's birthday yesterday was nice, we let him plan the day then took him out for Teppanyaki for dinner. It was a lot of fun.
All of us finally started feeling better, but the boys were tired yesterday. V a actually napped yesterday rather than just testing in his room, when we got home from the arcade he picked for his activity.
