slate tile fell in the garden, need help

Hi,
The other day, I found a slate tile in the garden and I can see that it broke off from the end slates near the gutter. I have a ladder that will reach this place and I was wondering what was the best way to make sure the slate tile is replaced correctly and stays in place.
I have noticed that other slate tiles on the roof seem to have lead labels which, I suppose, hold them in place. Does anyone know where I can get one of these lead labels from? (if it's the best thing to use). Or should I replace the entire slate roof tiles with a new one?
