I just posted a link on the snark thread that definitely qualifies as a weekend crazy. I've still been lurking on TB to see who comes out of the woodworks and they're are some pretty good ones still popping up.
Normally, I sneeze 1-2x but I just sneezed THREE times! Am I in labor?!!! Nice comments only and don't bother replying if you can't share a personal story, mmmkay?

Weekend crazies were/are like any good spectator sport. With our babies on the way soon, I'm sure we can find other fun things to do w/o the weekend crazies

Haha, just wanna say I'm a member of the 3x sneezing club. That's been my deal for years!

And why do you think so many are double dipping? This weekend is slowwwwww though. Only a genuine post "Would you be mad?" (Answer: YES!) and some lady who doesn't know how money works... yawn.

I can't get over the insurance one. She's clearly leaving something out and getting frustrated at everyone else instead of actually trying to fix the problem.

I was shocked when the OP said people were being rude to her insurance question. That kind of shit has so many different factors to it, what do you expect besides just general suggestions? It's like she just wanted to complain about it (which is fine, but then just say that). Not one person was rude to her....
I enjoy reading the entertaining posts but the repetitive ones are super annoying.
I was lurking on J15 and found an entertaining "I smoked pot all during pregnancy to help with morning sickness and now I'm afraid they will drug test me at the hospital because I've been in trouble with it before. I don't want them to take my baby away what should I do?!"

Umm...Maybe not have smoked pot....
Good grief... *eye roll* Heading over to check out the thread.

I think she's leaving out some key information for sure. My OB made it a point to go over the financials at my first appointment and set me up on a payment plan that day. I have a hard time believing that they would only give someone 2 months to come up with $2k.

I haven't read the thread (where is it?) but will say that my OB did not go over the cost at all. The only reason why I know the birth/hospital stay will cost us over 4k is because I called my insurance company. Even then, it's all a guess and it could be more/less. I also can't make any payments on it until they bill it. It's a screwy system, and I'm basically in limbo. Once it's billed, I'll be able to work out a payment plan with the hospital.

My true guess to what happened was that when she was switching insurance, she went a short while without any and happened to have an appointment or ultrasound or something in there. Something is just not adding up.
Or that the $2000 bill is from delivering her son and she still hasn't paid it.

The payment plan I have worked out right now is for my OB services only. They ran my insurance and said that based on the average pregnancy/delivery, you will owe us about X amount. It won't be billed to my insurance until delivery but I will have pre-paid my out of pocket costs for the OB. I still had to call my insurance company to find out about the hospital charges. I'll have to do the same as you and work out a plan after delivery with the hospital.
With all these insurance talk, I just realized I totally forgot to pay my global fee which was apparently due last week. Hopefully my OB won't refuse to see me cos of it, I just need them to run my HSA credit card.

That makes sense. Like I said, I haven't read the thread at all.

What!?! It's like you are a responsible adult, or something?
OP from the insurance post said the $2k fee or whatever was from a deductible. Which doesn't make sense because why would they charge the deductible way in advance? Perhaps I'm not that great with insurance but it's my understanding that whatever visits and lab work that you have you pay for and those costs are applied to the deductible until it's fulfilled. Que no?
Here's part of the post: "You have to pay hospital bills no matter if you pay the deductAble for your doctor or not. I was not aware that there was an extra charge because of the new year, because when I gave birth to my son they didn't charge this fee."
She also claims that in November they told her she had till the 4th to pay it and they wouldn't take a payment plan after that but in another comment said the office doesn't take partial payments. Basically, none of it makes sense with the info provided.
Ugh, I hate insurance. Early on in pregnancy I spent like 2 hours on the phone with my company trying to figure out how much this would cost in total so we could be prepared. I still have no idea. My best guess is that if I was out of network we would get bills up to $5,000 vs $2,000. So I've refused to travel since Mid November. But I'm not really even sure if that's true or just an over paranoid interpretation. I also don't know if we will end up having to pay the up to $2,000, although I never considered that we were spanning two years, and how that might effect charges.
Agree with others, something else is missing from the story. Most Drs will be willing to set up a payment plan. If not, something else is probably going on, like you have a history of not paying, or the practice is in major financial trouble.
