my account was banned. watermelon, ladyxaverian, help?

I haven't been able to comment or "love" anything the past couple days and I just got on the computer and saw that I've been banned. I don't even post that often (screenname is nmrd), I've never had any warnings, I wasn't involved in any of the recent kerfuffle. The worst thing I did was maybe "love" some comments that were responding to the recent kerfuffle. I thought I was an entirely uncontroversial poster.

I'm really sad about this. Even if I mostly lurk, I've found the Jan board really supportive and helpful. Do you think this was a glitch? Or for "loving" certain posts? With all the commotion and long-time posters that have been banned I'm sure this is low on the priority list and that it will be hard to get a response from the official bump people--is there anything I can do?

ETA: Here is a link to my comment history. I guess I made that comment about communism, but that wasn't anti-bump or even anti-anti-bumpers. I didn't really even mean anything by it, I just hate to see the term communism being maligned/misused. Could that be why I was banned? I don't get it.

OP, I'm not sure how much help either one of them can be at this time, though. Almost all mods were stripped of their mod power when all this went down, and I don't know if it's been given back.

Wow. I'm guessing they made a mistake with all the bannings and weren't being careful? That's really shitty.

They definitely weren't being careful in the slightest. There are many posters who were caught up in bans, yet when you look at their history, there's no reason whatsoever for it. It's a theory that when BM went on her rampage and did IP bans, the IPs were so similar that it grabbed a lot of wrong posters as well as the ones she was going for... 

Even BM got herself caught up in one of the IP bans she was doing.

That's crappy- I would maybe try emailing them to see if they will either unbanned or explain? I'm guessing it might take a while for them to respond with that the stuff going on, but it's worth shooting out an email.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I sent an email a few days ago and nothing so far. Just sent another one. Hopefully I hear something soon, but I know they're swamped. I'm due tomorrow and wish I could respond to posts! I don't have anything in particular to post or ask about, but it just helps with my anxiety to be able to "love" and respond to posts and feel like I'm part of a community while I'm just sitting at home waiting day after day. I guess I'll try to set up a new account but I don't know if I'm ip banned or not.

To answer backstreetdriver's question on the admin thread you posted, I didn't have an AE. I used to post on the Knot under a different name, but that was a few years ago.

Ok, I was able to set up another account, so hopefully this means I wasn't ip banned? I can't post for a few days since I'm "new" but it did let me "love" a post, so we'll see. Wish I could get my old account back. Sigh.
