Question about flights (Grandparent death mentioned)

Do you have southwest airlines near you? They let you exchange your ticket for another date and time without any extra fees. If you select a flight home that is on a day that isn't as cheap (Tuesday and Wednesdays are the cheapest day) or if you select a mid day time (which are usually more) then you just pay the difference between what you paid and what the new ticket is. So if your home ticket is 305, and youd change to one that is 350, you just pay the $45 difference. Hopefully that made sense. I had to do that once and I just searched until I found an exact exchange. 

Eta: okay I didn't see that you booked a flight already. But wanted to add my t&p. It sucks losing a grandparent. I hope his passing is peaceful and he doesn't have to suffer in pain anymore. I lost my grandma 6 years ago and I still miss her terribly.

Southwest is the only airline without change fees. Most airlines change fees are $150 plus the difference in fare. With Sourhwest you only pay the difference in fare.
