Is anyone still in shock that they're pregnant??

Maybe it's because we had to do fertility treatments to get our daughter, and we had done some over the summer that didn't work and had been told it was time to move onto IVF.

I swear though, a spontaneous pregnancy really effs with your mind if you've had trouble getting pregnant. I feel like I'm going to be rolling into my c-section going "ok, this is actually happening..."

Maybe a dear diary thread and forgive me if that's the case, but I just wondered if anyone else at 25 weeks + is still like "holy shit, this is actually going to happen...."

I'm not so much in shock that I'm pregnant, I am more like "holy shit I'm going to be a mom in 10 weeks!" And all the responsibilities that will entail for me since I'm a FTM. I don't think I have grasped how much my life is going to change and won't be able to until I actually give birth and she is here with me.
I always wonder what she is going to look like and what her little personality will be like. That to me is still surreal.

^^^ This! I was commenting this morning to DH about being out of breath on the stairs and he said, "when do you start 3rd trimester?" Um...two weeks ago!

I feel surprised at how fast this pregnancy is going. I feel like I haven't really paid much attention to the fact that it's getting so close.

For us more like holly crap, how did this happen so quickly with DD it was 18 months and fertility treatments, and this one first try....we are like how did this happen? But super excited it did and was so much less stressful.

I did wake up DH the other night and say "I still can't believe I am married and about to have a baby!"
And, I told my grandmother that my wedding announcements were going to say "wife AND a mother- shit just got real"

Seriously! I feel like DH and I just celebrated our 1 yr anniversary (in September, when we got BFP haha) and now we are already counting down to our 2nd! We will have a 4 month old by then!!!

I wouldn't say shock but I forget a lot. It's there in the back of my mind... But I'll be busy at work and come home and sneak around getting ready for bed (I get off at midnight) and lay down and take DD off DH's dead arm and give her milkies and then get kicked in the side and I'm like.... Ooooh forgot you were there too kiddo :/

Today I had a moment of 'holy shit my EDD is in exactly THREE MONTHS.' There's not much time left! I am in shock at how fast it's gone by (while also being painfully slow as we wait for appointments, etc).

mrstwiddy, I hear you on this. I'm 31 years old, have had PCOS for 10 years, and was always told I'd need fertility treatments to start a family. DH and I weren't even trying to get pregnant...it just happened and I'm thrilled it happened for us that way. BUT that means that most days I look at my huge belly and think "...whoa. A baby? A baby for ME?!" Still can't wrap my head around the fact that I'll have an actual baby of my own in just weeks.

I can't believe that in 10 weeks or less our son will be here. We spent years struggling with infertility, at times feeling like this may never happen, and now the reality of it all is starting to hit me. I know our lives will never be the same, the fact that this little person will now depend on us for everything, and as much as we love him now, this love will only grow to be that much deeper.

angelasashes I think that's the majority of it for me. I have PCOS too, and like I said, I was mentally preparing for IVF in January. It never occurred to me that I would get pregnant on my own. FWIW my husband feels the same way. We'll just be sitting here and he'll go, "You're pregnant." And I'm like "yep, kid's kicking me right now--I get it." We're just stunned. And this pregnancy has gone by SO fast compared to my daughter's. With her, I was so scared and always waiting for the other shoe to drop. With this one, it's like "ok we need to get our asses in gear and get stuff done or we're going to run out of time before this kid gets here!"

Part of the shock is we weren't trying at all and this just kind of happened. In some ways I feel guilty. So many ladies struggle to get pregnant and I'm telling my husband to not even breathe on me any more. :/

I think my DH is still having these moments, every once in awhile he will say something like "man, I can't believe soon there will be a little baby here with us"! I am more excited than anything, especially now that baby's kicks and movements are getting so much stronger. She is always reminding me that she is on her way!

Speaking of out of breath, it is impressive how much I cannot breathe now compared to like a week ago! I feel like her foot is on my lung squishing it. Haha. I completely understand.

Me. I keep waiting for it to "click" in my head. I thought once I felt him move it would feel more real, but nope. Its like I cant believe it.

I think I wanted this so badly and we struggled to get pregnant that I'm constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Its bizarre, I always thought I would be that woman talking to her bump and rubbing it constantly but I have been sorta non-emotinal about it all.

Sadly I think some of it is my depression & anxiety kicking in.
