So DH and I moved from the philly suburbs to south jersey in August and one of the first things we noticed is that everyone here is the WORST ar returning shopping carts and it makes us both so rage-y. This was the scene today at the grocery store
I can occasionally let a stray cart go, if it looks like the person tried to put it in a "safe" location. I figure they had a "reason" but JFC they're everywhere.
That's a pretty big stretch of parking lot for there to not even be a single cart corral.
We have NO cart corrals in our TJ's parking lot/shopping center and there are 3 or 4 stores in that provide shopping carts. The TJ's people ROCK though about going around for them. Today a guy stopped at my car to get mine. (Don't worry, I was 100% planning on returning it, it was just good timing so he did me a favor!)

Wow. Okay, so I never see that here. Ever. I only go to two different grocery stores here and they have lots of cart return stalls, though. The Petsmart will sometimes have a cart in the lot because they don't have a return, and the people are always so grateful when I walk it back to the store (H and I have a deal -- I return carts, and he always brings the car to pick me up lol) so maybe I'm weird.
I'm rambling. I've been around teenagers so much I don't know how to adult anymore. Sorry.
I just want to point out that I love parking lots with no cement in front of the spot. Ever since I accidentally hit somebody's car one time while backing out of a spot, I get super anxious while backing up my car. I like when there is no cement so I can just pull forward to the next spot and easily drive away when I leave.

That's a thing? God that would be a bitch to plow.

I think people who don't return shopping carts are the same people that respond with "that's someone else's job" frequently. And that makes me want to slap people.

Pisses me off!
I'm glad ours at work are like that though so you don't have to watch for people pulling through spots. But our campus is huge and 3rd shift leaves when office people get there and it's a cluster of like 500 cars moving.

Dude, peole are fucking assholes. I hate it when they leave carts in the middle of a available parking spot. Like wtaf? I have to get out of my car, move the carts to the corral and then park.
