Thanks, ladies, I'll keep trying. Her pedi told me green veggies and oatmeal first, then yellow, then orange, and then fruit. So, we have quite a bit to get through, still. Have to pick a new green veggie for this week.
I just fed DD whatever veggies/fruits we had in the house. There was no rhyme or reason to it other than obviously avoiding things that aren't/weren't safe for her age.

I don't think you necessarily have to stick with particular colors if she doesn't seem into them. They recommended that to me when DS1 was an infant but this time she said I could start with whatever.
We've been working on solids for the last 3-4 weeks, and she's just now catching on with rice cereal.
We've been trying a new veggie every few days, and she still acts like we're trying to kill her by feeding her butternut squash. Spinach went OK, and she seems to like avocado. I think peas are next, and we're just going to keep adding in new foods until she understands! I want to get her through a few veggies before we introduce fruits.
Speaking of which - any ideas on which non-rice cereals to use? I'd like to give her something with a bit more nutritional value, like oatmeal or quinoa. We're also in the market for a high chair. Too many choices!

I've been making my own cereals because they're ridiculously easy. DD only does rice right now but I'm introducing oatmeal next week (though I also love the idea of quinoa). All I do is grind up the grain into powder in my coffee grinder. Then I just cook 2 tablespoons with 1/2 cup water on the stove and store the rest of the powder. Here's the recipe for oatmeal but you could substitute any grain. weelicious.com/2013/03/15/homemade-oatmeal-cereal-for-babies/
@zerozeroone made my own - we had some in the fridge that was going bad, and H had dental work done this week, so is essentially eating baby food. I just cooked it down with a bit of water, and then blended it up (we have an immersion blender that has a really small food processor attachment that works well for this stuff). It tastes like spinach still. For H, I added a bit of cream and some parmesan.
hurricanerek thanks for the idea. That seems much easier than buying all different things.
@iheartmyshiba we use our bumbo right now, too, and it works, but we have an old one with no seat belt, so it's hard to get anything done/she likes to try to escape, so we need a 5 point harness!

That's an outdated recommendation at this point. I believe AAP came out with new recs about food and what to start when, but I'd have to look for it and get back to you (and also figure out how to post links here, I'm sure it's easy, just haven't done it yet).

I feel like such an idiot!!! I didn't realize until now that pampers rewards are different on every package! I thought you just have the same reward code per box - one case of diapers would have the same code on each of the packs inside, but they're different and so are the wipes! So many months of wasting codes lol. Not that it does anything wonderful but i'm still mad! Lol
Is it normal for your kid to shit more once they start solids? Spencer has shit 3 times today. Our house is going to smell like a sewer soon!
We changed 4 or 5 poopy diapers today... DH stayed home today because I was sick and he was like geez this kid poops a lot! Yep..and like someone else mentioned she actually makes faces now so I know when she is pooping! It's too funny!

I'd be mad, too! I got a water table and an Old Navy gift card with those points, lol.
Just in case anyone is looking at high chairs, these are the four we have (I may have a bit of an addiction to child seating). I love them all. You'll note the travel theme - DS1 traveled with me on business trips so I needed ways to contain him in restaurants and apartments on the road. We also spend weekends out of town often. So these are all easy to use at home and away. We were also living in a 2B apartment when DS1 came along - so we didn't have the floor space for a stand-alone high chair.

Major mommy fail last night. DD woke at 11:30. We tried letting her settle for 10 min, soothing various ways, nursing (twice), rocking her to sleep (not a normal thing in our house), tears and frustration on my end, and then it occurred to me, hey, you should probably check her diaper. This was at 1:30am. That's right, it took me 2 hours of an unhappy baby to realize she needed her diaper changed. After that, it was just a matter of getting her calmed down again and she was out, but I didn't get to sleep until 2 and my alarm went off at 5:30.
DAMMIT! Went upstairs to change DD and came back to find OH's stupid cat eating my lunch. It was tomato pasta so not like I left steak sitting there. She's ancient, pathetic and needs help to get up on the couch/bed and yet somehow managed to get onto the dining table which is twice as high?
I keep telling him that his cat hates me and he thinks I'm making it up. She'll sleep next to me on the bed and purr when he's there but as soon as he gets up for work, she glares and hisses at me then she's nice as pie when he comes back. It's like she knows and is doing it on purpose. Is it possible for cats to manipulate their owners into thinking they're harmless in order to kill off the owner's spouse?
@zerozeroone - there's not a mean bone is my cat's body but OH's cat is pure evil in a fur coat. BIL gets it, he won't turn his back on her and always thinks she's up to something.
Okay, glad to see other LOs aren't actually eating much of the solid food yet. We've tried rice cereal, sweet potato, squash, and something else that now I can't remember. Most of it ended up making LO's face look like the Joker's as the food entered his mouth, then he verrrry slowly ejected it and proceeded to wipe it over his face. (Despite DH and I trying to keep that from happening.) I wanted to try pear or apple sauce over the long weekend, but little guy was feeling bad so he was on the boob 95% of the time when he wasn't sleeping and had no interest in much else.
Also, I just read an excerpt from a book called "Baby Calm" that almost had me crying at my desk. A part of a chapter from the baby's point of view about CIO. My feels, man! At this rate LO is going to be sleeping in the PnP in our bedroom when he's in high school.
I think I'm going to have a minion party for DS's 4th birthday & a princess buttercup party for DD's 1st birthday. What is a "Princess Buttercup" party you may ask? I don't know. I just know that's what DH has called her from day one. Who has ideas? Spill 'em!

Like off of The Princess Bride? Castle, pirates, kings/queens?

So I've heard everyone say their supply lowers during their period, but daaaaang this is not cool! I only pumped 9 ounces today when I usually get 12-15!

2 options for Princess Buttercup. One, just use the flower as inspiration, so lots of yellow and small teacup stuff. 2, and obviously the better one, is to go full on Princess Bride.

It would be cool to do a Mario theme and just add a new Princess to the mix. It's sounds like a name of a Mario character
