DS woke up with a stomach bug yesterday so my weekend thus far has revolved around cuddling and cleaning up after him. Up with him now watching Jake the Pirate (may lose it if I hear "Yo Ho Ho" one more time...) and waiting for his granola bar to come back up.
I am not complaining though because I haven't caught the bug and we've got Monday off to (hopefully) recover.
The dreams, oh man, do they stop? I had two dreams last night, both revolved around me being completely incompetent. The worst one was about bringing my son home and not knowing what to do or where to have him sleep. I guess I should stop looking at baby gear! (I was looking for a rock n' play yesterday.)
Went to Babies R Us today (oops, yesterday technically) to start a registry and ho-lee shit there is a lot of stuff to think about!
We went for a registry event they were doing and actually won a 4 pack of onesies in a raffle. Ended up being there for over 2 hours! Came home and fine tuned it some more. Still have all the nursing/bottle stuff to handle but I'm not ready for that part yet.
Anyway! Seahawks play the Packers at noon and I'm really nervous! I think we got this though
Hope you all getting some good sleep now! Insomnia is terrible as is, of course, sick babies. Hope your DS feels better soon, ncjulia12
My kiddo was having trouble sleeping due to his nose being stuffy, so that meant I did sleep well either. So, my husband suggested going out for breakfast as a treat. When we came home, he also let me have a nap. Then kiddo and I made some homemade pumpkin pie! Dinner time now, the we'll have some. All in all, a nice Sunday.

I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know I'm okay. Thank you everyone for the well wishes and I know I'll definitely be taking some of you up on that offer to talk. It's hard suffering like this but I'm making progress, I think.
It's 5:45am here so my Sunday hasn't even started. I'll pop back in later on today.
It makes me so sad when I wake up at 6 and DD sleeps until 8, I feel like I really missed out. It happened yesterday and it looks like it's going to happen again today
Well DS slept so wonderfully last night he head butted me in the eye. Yeah, I got up this morning with a black eye. On a good note the dreams have just started kicking in for me. And DH is happy because they tend to lead to him getting some Sunday mornings, I'm definitely not complaining either. Now we just showered and are heading to breakfast. And I feel your pain on Jake. DS LOVES that show.

I don't know who said it, but someone said yesterday they miss being able to compare the baby to fruit. You can download the Ovia app and it has that. Also, here!
I found that on Pinterest. Just ignore the dates and you have weeks!
It's 650am. I was up twice in the middle of the night... once at 1am, when DD suddenly started crying in her sleep for 30 seconds - then apparently was fine... once at 5am to pee. Then I couldn't fall back to sleep. And I just woke DH up because I want him to go get me a donut.

Mmmmm donuts. That sounds soooo good.
We had a great, busy day yesterday, but we have ZERO plans today. The weather is back to crappy, too. Probably will be a Disney movie day, maybe lunch out...
I was up all night last night. And not because of insomnia but because of my husband snoring!! I don't know what to do with him anymore. Has anyone had any experience with those breathe right strips?? Or any other suggestions are more than welcome!

We have nothing planned for today which makes me very happy. Anyone have any great food or activity recommendations for New Orleans?? I leave Tuesday and I'll be there for a week.
I have to leave in 45 minutes for church and my entire family is still in bed. These covers are so warm! Now it will be a marathon to get out the door on time.

My DH's snoring is just awful. Right now I just wear earplugs but obviously won't be able to when the baby's here so we've been trying different things.... We had no luck with the breath right strips BUT they had been recommended by a coworker who said they're lifechanging, so who knows. DH has lost a little weight which seems to have helped some, though. I also had a friend mention that her DH snored a ton until they went to the doc and realized his tonsils were massive, so maybe there's more of a medical solution? Either way, good luck and let me know if you find a miracle cure!

murph317 does he drink? Is he overweight? My husband snores like crazy after a couple of drinks, and he gets to sleep elsewhere when that's the reason because he did it to himself. He also snored much worse when he was about 30lbs heavier, but since he lost weight it's minimal. I would also sleep elsewhere if it was bad but he hadn't been drinking - sleep is way more important to me than sleeping together absolutely all the time.
ETA The Breathing strips just amplified his snoring. They work for other people so it's worth a shot, but it was a badly failed experiment in my house.
wineandwalter The seafood buffet at Harrah's was the best buffet I've ever had, and maybe see a show there? We saw a hypnosis show, it was funny. Spend the day walking around French Quarter. Check out bourbon street. Try some gator boudin. Have fun!!
Happy Sunday to all! DH still has a cough so he slept on the couch last night. It was wonderful having the bed to myself without having to worry about him being out of the house (I always get a little anxious when he is out of town). And I think he is feeling better so hopefully he will take DS to the children's museum today so I can fold laundry and clean in peace.
Re: New Orleans, wineandwalter, my co-worker visits every year and she says they have awesome museums and tours! I've never been but hearing her talk about it makes me want to go.

wineandwalter - I was in New Orleans last March and I really liked going to the cemeteries (we went to one by the French Quarter and then another by the Garden District). If you are looking for night time things, there are loads of ghost/vampire/voodoo tours (they also have them during the day, but I think they are more fun at night). We wanted to go on a steamboat tour, but the weather didn't cooperate.
Anyhoo, this Sunday I swore that I'd go for a run (it's actually nice out!) but my couch is SO much more inviting.
Later today I'm phoning my Grandma to tell her that I'm pregnant. Then I guess it's only a matter of time before EVERYBODY knows. Hence why I waited this long to tell her. I love my Grandma, but she likes to gossip.

Has anyone started sleeping with a pregnancy pillow? I've tried to use my bump nest pillow half a dozen times and I positively hate it. I'm up all night readjusting and wake up sore. I'm so disappointed because I NEED a pillow now (as a habitual stomach sleeper, plus my hips have started to ache), but it's just not cutting it. Anyone else having problems? Any pillows that you absolutely love?
ETA this was probably covered on the old board but I refuse to go back.
ETA part 2: I'm thinking about just giving my dog the pillow because he adores it haha (excuse the awful picture quality, I took it in the dark)

Last pregnancy I just bought two new fluffy pillows and put them on either side. Then I didn't have to flip around a giant pregnancy pillow.
I'm irrationally annoyed by someone making a comment to me last night. I was being me and talking/joking with friends - somewhat inappropriately since we are all nurses and all have a fucked up sense of humor... And he decides to interrupt the conversation to tell me that I need to be more careful with what I think and say and surround myself with because the baby is "listening" and absorbing everything I do. My reaction was simple "well this baby is fucked then. " he didn't like that.

Ok thanks dude. Ugh hormones.
Yea he sounds like a real peach. He needs to get off his high horse. Sorry he was such a jerk!
