I've noticed that some people go to great lengths to not post pics of their children's faces when showing off clothing they made -- either blurring them out, having them cover their face, or cropping the photo to neck and down. Not specifically on this board, on other sites too. I've heard people are worried about their photos getting into the wrong hands, but I'm torn on this because the photos look better with the kid's face!
I'm thinking of creating a blog and I'm not sure how to handle this. I see other blogs use full pictures of their kids... but I'm not sure if I should do the same. I've posted pics of my kids on this site and feel a little worried about it.
What are your feelings on this? Please explain your reasons below too!
I normally don't- you probably picked up on that already. This is something that is funny- I didn't mind posting their pictures anywhere at all when they were little, but, now that they are school aged, I am much more selective about where their pictures go (don't ask me why, I really don't have an answer for myself yet)! I still put them up publicly on Flickr, I may put them up on my blog (assuming I blog- ha), those are two places where I have good, solid view data, two places I can wipe clean/privatize very quickly. I don't even like DH putting them on FB, but, I am as anti-FB as one can possibly be with an account (albeit hardly ever used) of their own.

I always aim to get a pic where my baby girl is looking down or away so her face isn't seen. I can't say exactly why I don't want to show it. There's just a feeling in my mind that she deserves some privacy for whatever reason. I do have some social sites I share her full image but it's pretty much limited to Facebook and, for a while, on my BMB. Even then I started to get a bit guarded about it once she was a bit older.

DH and I agreed during my pregnancy, that we were going to be very selective and limit the exposure of our kids online. DH and his dad each have an account on 1drive and we share pics between us that way. There are 4 pics of DD on FB that were used to announce her birth, and we haven't posted anything else publicly anywhere. We basically want to keep our private life private and not allow companies to use her likeness for promoting. We also know there are a lot of crazy creeps out there and we don't want them getting ahold of her pics for whatever they would use them for. Perhaps we are being paranoid, but I'd rather be over-cautious than not cautious enough.
