calishove PB in oatmeal/steel cut oats is my jam!!! I would not add it while cooking though. I cook my steel cut oats for the week on Sundays. I portion it out in mason jars. In the morning I add a splash of milk and heat them. Then I add sliced banana and PB to it. I would imagine it would be the same with other types of oats (I never cook my old fashioned oats though, just make them overnight style and add PB in the morning as well). It is pretty much the most delicious thing in the world. PB taste good with almost anything IMO
Omg DS has been so freaking loud in the past half hour. The shrieks. omg
I liked this only because I can relate. The sounds DS makes are so obnoxious. I don't even know what he is thinking when he shrieks the way he does ...

Thanks girl! I'll report back. Do you make your overnight oats in a crock pot?
It's Hs birthday so I'm letting him sleep in. Later we are going to watch the game with the ILS. I might make a cake, if I'm not too lazy. Right now DD and I are watching family feud and she's being so cute, she claps every time they clap but is starting to look annoyed because they clap so much.

Nope. They are not cooked at all! I use about 1/2 cup of oats with 1/2 to 3/4 cup of almond milk and let it sit in the fridge overnight in a mason jar. Sitting overnight in the liquid softens them enough to eat. It is super easy and really delicious. I usually eat my overnight oats cold and in the morning add fruit, PB, cinnamon, maple syrup ... whatever strikes my fancy. I do cook my steel cut oats in my rice cooker.
OMG now I really want oats. I love oats and I love breakfast
I'm pretty sure our betta fish is really sick. I'm setting up and smaller tank right now so we can monitor his better. He's been spending a lot of time hiding under objects at the bottom of his tank and his fins are very tattered looking. I hope he pulls thorough. DS would be devastated.
waffles I had a betta for two years. We had a couple of different illnesses with tattered fins or fuzzy fins where I was treating the water. I don't remember now which meds I used for which infections since it's been 6+ years ago, but Google got us through. The pet store had everything we needed though. Good luck!!
Went to yoga this morning, then to a show this afternoon, cleaned the bathroom, feeling good. We're experimenting with DD not wearing diapers all the time now that she knows how to pee on the potty, but we may need to work on the times we put her on to try, we're having too many accidents. Ah, well, it's just another phase, we'll get through it.

I'm on the way to the pet store now to see if they can help. We've had his about 6 months and I'd had to lose him.

I should've stayed home from church with the kiddo today.
We had freezing rain, enough to make the roads extremely hazardous. I was fine coming down the mountain until I approached the split for 2 major US routes, and then it was a hot mess. People were sliding all over, landing in medians, and I thought we were going to end up hitting the concrete dividers until we got going. I haven't been that terrified in a long time, and never drove on ice like that.
Of course if PennDOT had gotten their asses in gear earlier, brined the roads, and started throwing cinders down as soon as the freezing rain advisories went up around 5-6ish this morning, it may not have been *quite* as bad.
And I feel bad for complaining, because the Philly area got it way worse.

BostonKisses So scary. Glad you made it home okay!
My mom left our house in VT at 9 am today and has yet to make it to MA. It is normally a 4-4.5 hour drive but the roads are so icy in NH that they can't drive more than 10 mph. There was also an ice storm that forced the entire highway to just park completely! Luckily the weather in MA is nearly 50 degrees so hopefully once they get a little farther south the ice clears. Crazy stuff!
DH told me last night he wants to try oatmeal with peanut butter in it. Can you guys weigh in on if this is good or not before I potentially ruin a bath of perfectly good oatmeal? How much pb are we talking?
Does he mean he wants to mix it is while cooking? Can he add to his portion like you would sugar or maple syrup?
I was wondering the same thing, and this is probably the strategy I'd do. If I'm not eating preflavored instant, I'm a brown sugar gal. PB in oatmeal when it's not in cookie form doesn't sound as appealing.

Ditto. Last week we were in full blown velociraptor mode, and it sucked!

It's so wild! I know all of the bridges crossing the Delaware river were shut down for hours this morning, and roads were also shutting down. The road crews seemed so unprepared, which blows my mind because we had advanced warning that this was coming.
Hopefully they get into the warm sector soon, and don't have anymore ice!

Family Feud was my son's favorite show for the first two years of his life. I do not know what it was, but he would only want to watch that show. He loved everything about it. I have a strange kid in case no one has figured that out yet.

I was really craving chips and dip so I went and bought some. They were really delicious but now I am craving something sweet and we do not have anything sweet in the house!

DS just thew a 45 minute tantrum about washing his hands... So that's how my day is going.
I haaaate those days. We are having them, too. Mine just threw a fit over losing a wii u game and got sent to her room... where she proceeded to slam her door hard enough to knock something of the wall in the LIVING ROOM and started screaming like a maniac. Kid, you're 8. CHILL.
