FF my LO but I feel like I'm walking on egg shells just to get her through the three hours without screaming her lung out. Dr said she gained too much weight so we had to pull back on the amount of times we feed her a day. I feel like she never just has happy, awake times; It's she is either asleep or crying to eat again. It makes me sad.
Say what? Gained too much weight? How much is too much for a newborn? I've always heard if baby is hungry you feed them.
We had our 4 week apt this week and LO gained 23 oz in 11 days lol
Formula can make them eat more than they need, even bottle feeding BM can to some extent. I would say don't worry about it until the Dr says something at this point you should be seeing them frequently enough to catch it before it becomes a concern.
I have been busy busy this morning. We have guests coming over with food and to meet Sarah this evening. Normally I don't care too much what our house looks like. It is usually neat but not sparkling, but with these guys I do. So I am cleaning our main floor like mad including the bathroom and dusting etc.
We also had our 1 month appointment for DD this morning and she gained 21oz in 2 weeks. She needed to gain a lot after struggling with jaundice.
She went from the 13% to the 23% in weight and is now in the 71% for height. We have one long, skinny and healthy baby
Ugh. Today is my due date. I'm convinced I'm going to be pregnant "forever." I've had contractions on and off since Tuesday. Let's do this.
DD would like me to show up to pick her up from school with a baby.
DH is being a giant pouty jerk face. I may stab him.
I'm with you! I woke up to a billion phone calls asking if I was in labor. I was feeling particularly stabby, I tell you what. I had contractions pretty regularly last night and got excited then, poof, nothing.
Rough night over here. LO spit up so hard that it came out of his mouth and nose and went everywhere--both of our clothes and hair. He was gagging after and freaking out and of course I was freaking out, trying to pat his back and use a bulb syringe in his mouth and the NoseFrieda (sp?) in his nose. And of course DH was stranded in Denver for the night due to the snow/traffic. After that, I've been making sure to burp him really well, elevated the incline on his RnP, and turned on the humidifier in our bedroom. This outside baby stuff can be scary.
Can I just say Breastfeeding is fucking hard!! A LC came to the house yesterday and Finn had a small mouth and a low palate so he can't take in my whole nipple. We do fine with a shield but as a FTM I'm also still struggling with how much infant manhandling is required!
For realz. I've taken on the "breastfeeding is harder than college" mentality. LO also has her hands in front of her face all the time. I have to get DH to hold her hands down to get her to latch. She also refuses to latch on The right side. I guess it's time for me to go get a pump.
My anxiety is at an all time high waiting for DS circumcision to be over at the pediatricians office. That and when they weighed him he's lost an ounce since leaving the hospital. LO is 2 weeks old... God this is so hard.
Add another to the breastfeeding is hard club. I have honestly heard very few people IRL and online say it was a piece of cake. Everyone says it gets easier though so I'm hanging in there for that day.
DD was cluster feeding all evening last night. Very frustrating. Feed, burp, cry, feed, burp, cry. Over and over again until 11pm. Then I got two 4 hour stretches again so I'm feeling ok today. Spending a lot of time watching TV and on the toilet (TMI I know, not sure what's happening, I've been eating fairly well lately too)

My pedi said she should gain no more than an ounce a day. DD2 gained two a day... I don't think they should eat whenever if it's formula. But idk! I feel like a FTM sometimes lol. He said she should eat 3-4 hrs (3oz to a bottle).
Anyone have any advice on how to sooth a hungry baby or make them go longer inbetween feedings?

You're doing a great job. You're a good mom and it will get easier. Keep telling yourself that.
The hospital just called to confirm my registration for Mondays induction and make sure nothing changed. Ahhh ! S... Just got real
What time are you going in? They have me slated for first thing in the freaking morning on Monday. If we both make it until then we'll be induction buddies.

Another friend with a March due date just had their baby ahead of me. I know it was a scheduled induction, so obviously there was some kind of medical reason, but it's still so frustrating. Ugh.
Oh, and the friend I mentioned yesterday texted me again asking about my dilation. WTH? Sorry, I don't get checked daily.
On another note, my mouth has been super dry for the past 15ish hours and I have no idea why. I'm drinking a ton, but it is not helping.

We had 2 sets of march twins we know of born this week. So frustrating!!

5 am My dr gets in at 7 am
Not jealous of the super early time, but jealous that you will likely get your babies on Monday. Mine isn't until 4:30 p.m., so unless things happen super quickly, my baby won't be here until Tuesday. Still praying for spontaneous labor before then!

The only thing that works to soothe DD for a bit to delay a feeding is a pacifier. But even then, it's not for very long, maybe 20-30 minutes. I should say that she isn't really much of a crier though, she mainly fusses to let us know what she wants.

I have a good friend due with twins on 3/17. She could seriously go any time now.

I'm trying. I pumped two hours before I tried to feed him at the office and he wouldn't latch and just fussed and cried. When he did latch he constantly squirmed like he wasn't getting anything. The whole time my FI was playing on his phone while I'm stressing out and when I told him how I felt and how he was just playing on his phone he got irritated and said he can't put more milk in my boobs to help. I gave him a pacifier and he eventually fell asleep. I wish I brought a bottle or didn't pump so I had something to give him.

Sorry to everyone with BF issues. I will say it does get easier. I am having to remind myself about that this time around because my nipples are on fire! They are so sore. I vaguely remember going through that last time, but it doesn't help with the soreness right now. I'm hoping they "toughen up" soon.
So far, Brady had been so good. I'm afraid to say it because I don't want to jinx it, but he is getting up every 2.5-3 hours at night and is going right back to sleep after feeding/changing. I can survive if I get 2-3 hour spurts of sleep. I hope everyone who is having night struggles gets some sleep tonight. Going without sleep is miserable.

IDK if it would work, but could you try offering 2 oz every 2 hours instead? We switched to that feeding schedule for a few days to try to curb some acid reflux and while the first day was hard getting him to adjust, it seemed to work after that. It's pretty much the same amount of formula over the course of the day...
dreemkin, I think I would phase a bottle out over a few days.
Take 2 close together feedings and drop an oz over the few days and give the pacifier and distract as best you can until her tummy adapts to the change. Maybe do playmate and tummy time more often during that time so your LO is busy and distracted?
I went back for an incision check today. Seeing all the pregnant ladies made me miss my belly just a wee bit. I can't wait to get my IUD in, is that weird? Lol
We officially have a place to live! Which means in one week my little family will be making the 8 hour move back home to Orlando! Now I just have 500 things to do between now and then!
lilyelayne is that a schnauzer in your avatar? He/she is so cute! I have a schnoodle that looks similar to that but he's all black, no silver (yet).
Thanks! She's actually a schnoodle also! I think she's perfect I do get her head/face groomed like a schnauzer since she definitely has schnauzer ears. When she was a puppy she was all black except for the bottom of one paw. She turned 4 last October, and it's really been in the last year that her beard has started to silver.

Yup we get ours cut like a schnauzer too! He is 5 and still hasn't settled down lol. He's so sweet but he barks waaay too much. I had an all silver schnoodle as a kid so I just had to have one as an adult. I love the mix!

Oh the barking. She can get pretty loud, especially after she spends some time at my parents' house with their standard schnauzer. They encourage each other's bad habits.
Growing up we had either standard poodles or standard schnauzers, so when I met this little schnoodle puppy I knew she would be the dog for me. I never thought I'd have a small dog, but I'm so glad I do.
badw0lf lots of manhandling is required! My LO puts his hands in front of his face every time so I have to physically hold them down.
Mine doesn't get that his hands don't have milk in them. Or that frantically moving his head back and forth makes it difficult to shove a boob in his mouth.
We've got the 10/11 day growth spurt going on. I'm apparently not allowed to put him down for anything.
And my LO has the second round of growth spurts. He had it at 3 weeks and now it's coming back at 5/6 weeks. He cannot find a comfy place to lay on me or DH.
