Loves: Still going strong with her Sophie The Fisher Price Dino toy with the balls. That thing entertains her longer than any other toy. We got her this bright starts lion she can sit on but I need to get her something new that has buttons. She loves SIL's VTech riding toy because she can sit and push the buttons. Junperoo. She plays in that for a little longer each time I put her in it. The simple fisher price stacking rings
She loves anything her brother has. And crayons. I've caught her way too often with them in her mouth. DS is getting better about making sure he's picked them all up. I really can't think of any one thing she just loves or anything I couldn't do without.
I am worried about my dogs with him too. The older one will let him pull on her ears and squeeze her, but she yelps. The younger one gets a little snippy. Im not really sure how to help them adjust. I practice helping him pet them "gently" but it isnt really going well.

Sorry ladies. We had to rehome our dog. He bit my 4yr old nephew and then almost got LO. I was devastated but he went to an amazing home.
The tag on any toy we give her the dog's tail (thankfully the dog is nice about it) my hair/necklace/earrings the paper they put down on the exam table at the doctor's office
but for real: zip up fleece jammies any toy that can dangle from the handle of the car seat (and the tag of said toy) puffs the high chair these rainbow munchkin spoons

I hope your doggies come around!
A couple months ago, we had to bring our little dog (7lb Chinese crested) back to live with her breeder. She was a little old for a pup when we got her, and she was really nervous around new people and kids from the get-go. Her breeder had assured us she was used to kids and would adjust to a baby. She was fine when Junie was immobile/newborn, but when she started reaching and getting more mobile, our dog started growling at her. Her breeder said getting another dog, preferably old and calm, might help her be more confident (which is how our new old dog came into our lives) but then our little dog nipped a kid on the face when she crouched down to look at her. The breeder thought she'd be happier without kids, so our dog went back to live with her.
Anyway, just wanted you all to know you're not alone in this. I do hope things get better for you guys. It's so tough to navigate incompatibilities with fur babies and human babies.

LO still really loves Sophie, cardboard boxes, his teddy bear, the jumparoo, and being under the couch. Seriously, under the couch is the most entertaining thing in the world to him.

One of our dogs has nipped at DS and even caught his cheek once. She's gotten better, but we do pay more attention when her energy changes around him (she's not always jumpy around him so we just have to watch for clues when she's getting anxious). Sometimes she just gets wary and then we move her from the situation. DS is also getting better about being gentle around her.
This came at a perfect time...I am attending a HUGE mommy resale event this weekend and I volunteer so I get 1st pick of the goods so I'm going to buy some of these suggested toys!
We hardly use the swing anymore...we actually moved it and in its place put the bouncy

Sophie Stacking cups My pal Violet O-ball jumperoo I need to find something to entice her to crawl! Edited bc I feel like I should share DD photos on FB only now.
Singing Mother Goose is a godsend, she gets him to stop crying and lets me do exciting things like brush my teeth and get ready for work. I just have to keep making her sing.
Also, my iphone. He now loves for me to show him photos/video of himself. Big smiles!
Useless: These may have been on my old useless list, but they still are. Wool nursing pads. They were supposed to be the bees' knees, but instead were epic fail.

Something about that Mother Goose made me laugh out loud when I saw it! I might need to get one.

Oh another thing we can't live without right now is the mobiles to get cranky pants, I mean DD1, to sleep. DD2 is a GREAT sleeper- always has been- but DD1 is a terror. I have a wind up mobile (old school) we turn on. Plus a light up cribside mobile thing we turn on. We tried it on the crickets chirping and stuff, and the music, but she hated it... I turned it to the "singing" setting (which annoys me) but it totally mesmerizes her in a way I couldn't. I tried singing to her, rocking her, talking to her, etc... this is what worked. That and leaving the light on until she passed out. Both kids got the crib things for Christmas, I thought they might like them, but didn't realize we would become dependent on it. DS never had one.
hrgwu2006. We bought the ride and stride elephant based on one of these threads for ds as a Santa present. He instantly knew it was his toy, and it basically stayed in the other room. Now that he is in the little more sit up/ try to crawl stage I pulled it out and he plays with the elephants head a bit.
Eta: we finally moved the swing as well. It was such a sad day for me.
Took it out. She is not interested. Maybe someday. She is too concerned with crawling to care about toys.
PSA: If anyone is interested in the Vtech sit-to-stand learning walker, Amazon has quite a few on Warehouse Deals for $18-$19. They are regularly priced at $34.
