I'm sooo guilty of checking out it all out online. Before we moved I gave away everything baby related. Mostly because I didn't want to haul it cross country and also it was painful to look at.
I've spent most if the day looking at stuff on pinterest. I'm so scared to pin anything and be hopeful at this point.
Not going to lie, we went to Babies R Us today to look at a fridge lock. MH and I ended up looking at other baby gear for at least an hour. They have so much new fancy stuff!
i'm trying to pack all ours up still! just put a few more htings in the attic today & upgraded DD from her infant carrier.
We bought the graco 35lb limit for dd. It was so heavy and bulky and we had no clue how much babies weighed. We wanted our monies worth. Let's just say my almost 5 year old is only 33lb. I could not imagine hailing her in an infant carrier.
The only thing I can think that I'll buy this time is a double stroller. LO will sleep in the cosleeper in our room at first. We are planning on moving to a bigger house next spring (when LO is 3-4 months), so I'm not even going to bother setting up a nursery in this house. If it's a boy, I might buy some more clothes, but not much. (We have a ton of gender neutral stuff)
We have most of our stuff packed away from DS. I have everything labeled by how old he was when he used it. The only thing I will need to get is a double stroller and double jogging stroller.

I really am not so far we are very laid back on this. With DD I was obsessive and everything had to be a certain way. After learning that it doesn't work the way I want I've really scaled back. I'm even considering team green

Not really. We don't need much honestly. We will need to get a new infant car seat and probably a bath seat/tub. We have saved most of the baby stuff from the other two kids.
I went to check out this kids consignment shop near my house and ended up looking around the baby section at target as well. I got really overwhelmed because I don't even know what I am going to really need. I almost started crying look at the strollers and the car seat/stroller combos and the baby swings and the cribs. I think I need to slow down hahaha.
in the 8 hours since I've found out i was pregnant, I think we'll need another furniture/bedroom set, the 2nd seat attachment for our city select, and I'll probably get a BOB double stroller.
Everybody raved about the boppy lounger & I didn't see it until LO was much older.
I spent a huge chunk of yesterday separating my private baby Pinterest board into more manageable secret boards. I had almost 300 pins due to pinning so much while my best friend was pregnant last year. I would pin something to the board we shared for her and then pin it and other stuff to my secret one. Now I have boards for each trimester, pregnant fitness, cloth diapering, vegetarian pregnancy diet, nursery, etc. it's much more manageable. In the second tri I will look at what we need to purchase.
I'm like rztrumpet - moving soon so we're probably not going to get too much "stuff". I'm a bit of a minimalist anyway. Does "scoping out" maternity pants count? Cause I'm bloooooooated!
teambrink - if you're interested in cloth diapering, I did it with DD, we started as soon as I ran out of free disposables from the hospital (so about a week old). I plan on doing it with this LO as soon as we're home from the hospital.
I love talking about it, so feel free to ask any questions!
snoris - I'm keeping my eye out for maxi dress sales. I get super hot when pregnant, so I in the summer, I basically live in dresses.
teambrink if you are thinking about CDing, I'm thinking about quitting.... I'm just on the fence about it. I know most people who CD are rapid evangelists, but I'm very MEH about it. My mind is currently exploding from thinking about 2 in CD & washing even more! Maybe I'll see you my whole NB stash

I loved the boppy lounger with my two! They took many a nap as newborns on it.
Only minorly... for instance, I've decided to go mini crib this time around. I'll convert DD's crib into a toddler bed by then, and just go with a mini crib and a new dresser to make room for #2 in her room. And I know I need to get the extra seat attachment for the baby jogger.

I ordered two fleece buntings from the Patagonia end of season sale... If we get another January/February like we've had, we will need it and I'll be glad I didn't have to pay full price.
Otherwise I feel pretty laid back. DD will be 4.5 when this one arrives, so we will have her crib, infant seat, stroller, etc, available to use. We will need some clothes but my sister has some of my DD's hand me downs if it's a girl, and has a 1 yo boy who can lend us stuff if it's a boy. We lived in a tiny house when DD was a baby so I am used to being pretty minimal about gear.
Once I make it to the end of first tri I will probably start knitting and sewing some things. So many cute patterns out there and it's a fun way to think about baby and get excited for me.
What I am stressing about most is where to eventually put the kid, haha. We have two bedrooms up and two down. I know this is silly because we will probably keep him/her in our bedroom for the first year and so it's almost two years until I really have to worry about it. But I like worrying

Ooo sounds airy! I'm a shortie so I'd probably look extra silly in maxi dresses while pg, but who cares?! Sounds comfy.
Yesss we are planning on cloth diapering as well (teambrink,@zoegirltx)

First time mom here so I've got zilch for gear. I'm looking forward to the wisdom from you mama's on what we need vs. What we don't. All insight is welcome!!!!!!

guess I'm in the minority but I haven't started looking at anything yet because I need to hear that heartbeat before I get my hopes up. DD is still in her infant seat (even though she's almost 2) so we'll need to swap her into her bigger seat eventually, and we'll have to get a second crib because her crib transitions into a toddler bed/full size bed (even though that aint happening anytime soon either).
I already live in maxi dresses in the summer. The Texas sun is no joke! I will define toy be in them this summer!
@zoegirltx, I'm very interested in your thoughts on CDing. My best friend had a baby in November and she's had some ups and downs with it too. She doesn't cloth full time though.
I hadn't thought about going to a store and scoping out gear until I read this thread yesterday, so last night we went to Burlington just to look, although my husband (whose excitement is through the roof) said he was definitely going to buy something. Well, we ended up buying a crib. Lol.
I keep thinking I'm jinxing it by doing something like that then I realize I'm being ridiculous. Anyway, it's a really nice crib that was marked down to $100 from $400. We could hardly pass it up.
