I've been thinking about trying this out but my last couple cycles have been super heavy so I'm worried about the logistics of it all. Tell me about your experience.
I adore it. I have very heavy cycles, but I just make sure to change it every three or so hours the first few days vs changing a heavy duty tampon/pad combo every 1 1/2 hours.
I never run out of supplies. Maybe it's a placebo but it seems like my cramps aren't as bad with it.
So I tried the diva cup once before I had a baby, and could not get it in correctly. I'm wondering if I should try again since I've had a kid now. Question to those that use it now. If you're in a public restroom, how do you change it if you have to rinse it out?

It only needs to be changed at least every12 hours. I don't change it when I'm in public but wait until im home.
I really like the diva cup. Since having my second kid though I leak the first few days, I can't figure out why but a panty liner solves the problem. I'm thinking of changing to the Luna cup to see if that helps.

So total newb question but I have heard there's different sizes. What size would I need? I have one DS and he was delivered by c-section. (I don't know if that makes a difference.) I'm super interested but worried I'll order the wrong one.
I've never heard that you need to replace them yearly, but they will get kind of gross after a while. My favorite thing about the Diva Cup is when I know my period is going to start within the next 36 hours I can just pop it in so I'm ready and I don't have to worry about any surprises.
Worst comes to worst I empty it and wipe with tp, then reinsert if I'm in public. Mine is crazy heavy tho.
This. I have heavy flow on the first day and have to empty once during the day. If I'm out and about it's really not a big deal to wipe it out in a bathroom stall.
I have a rainbow cup--same diff but smoother sides (the diva cup has a few ridges that I wasn't wild about) and I have a super heavy flow (no wide set vagina though). I love it. I will never go back to tampons--I have a few in my purse as backup for surprise start dates and they always feel like sticking razors up there now.
It took about 3 cycles to get the hang of it well enough to have totally smooth and not messy in/outs. Our sink is right next to our toilet so I just dump it in the toilet, rinse it in the sink and reinsert. I do find on super heavy days I'm more comfortable if I have a panty liner back up, but it holds enough. Get the larger size no matter what your body size is since you've already had kids.
I thought I'd be more grossed out by it, but honestly, it's actually helped me to desensitize the gross. It's my body, nbd.
tl;dr: get one, they're great for heavy flow, they take a little getting used to, but worth it.
I have a lunette. I love it. TMI but I switched after my first PP cycle had me going through the most heavy duty tampons hourly. It holds so much more. My heavy days are still very heavy and I generall empty mid day those days because I'm more comfortable. I don't get leaks and am very happy with the switch
This has been me PP, I think I'm going to make the switch.

I heart my Diva cup - if I have to change it in a public restroom I'll get a paper towel wet and bring it into the stall to wipe out the cup.
My favorite trick is to soak it in hydrogen peroxide for a few hours - no more stain! Doesn't damage the cup at all.
For fit, sometimes I have to spin it all the way around one to get it to pop open correctly. It does take a little bit to get used to it but I will never go back to tampons.

The hardest part of it is figuring out what works for you getting it in without leaking. Took me forever since my cervix is in a weird spot. Once you get the hang of it, it's sooo much better than tampons. And not having to worry about it for 12 hours is great.
The Diva cup is pretty hard compared to the other options out there. Folding it can be a pain, but you get used to it.
I have used one for close to seven years and I love it. I sometimes overflow, but blood pours out of me sometimes. I always had to use tampons and pads. Tampons would irritate my vagina and that's never an issue now.
Usually, if my flow is super heavy then I might have to empty it at work. I just prepare myself by being the only one in the bathroom and setting extra toilet paper on my leg to clean my fingers. On a normal flow day I don't have to empty it until I get home.
So I'd be size 2 since I have had a child. (I'm 24.)
You could be either, but the last one I bought was a 2 because I was older. It hurt to remove it sometimes, so even though I had a baby (had c-section) and I'm 35, I'm going to buy the smaller size to see how that fits.

Haven't had my period in a while now but when I did/do in the future, I will only use the Diva Cup now - it doesn't leak and even with a heavy flow, you maybe change it a couple times a day
What a way to make an intro on parenting, but hell, it's as good a thread as any:
I use a Meluna cup (I'm fairly certain this is a German company?) and I love it. I did a LOT of reading and researching before ultimately settling on this one, and I found the livejournal cup group that comes up with a quick Google search to be particularly helpful for a lot of different things (choosing size and firmness, types of folds, brand comparisons, etc. etc.). There was a learning curve and I was kinda panicky for my first cycle with it because I didn't have it down pat yet, but it's been amazing since. I got mine before I got pregnant, and haven't gotten my period back yet (5 months pp right now), so I don't know how it'll have changed post-baby, but I can't imagine going back to anything else after using a cup.
