The best donuts are the ones you find in a plastic wrapping at the gas station. They are the texture of sponges and the chocolate is like wax.... but I LOVE them.
yea I'm a few episodes into HOC and not loving it so far.... But i know a few others have raved about it.
I'll warn ya'll I'm on the very liberal/progressive end of things pregnancy & child-rearing related.... so I enjoy a glass of wine most nights still.
I think all the rules are so silly & generally so over-blown. I went to the bump BMB b/c it came up on my app & somebody was asking about ziplining..
Last PG I went snwobarding at 7 weeks, ran a marathon at 10 weeks, and rode every ride at disney at 9 weeks.
I think I love you.
I was snowboarding at 19w with my son! It was Christmas day and we had such amazing powder...I couldn't resist.
I think there is a difference between someone who knows what they are doing (@zoegirltx and mtnmomma13) snowboarding at 19 weeks and someone who doesn't (me!). I don't think I could snowboard when I'm not pregnant so throw in that different center of gravity and I would be rolling down the mountain!! I'm jealous of y'all's athletic ability

I guess my 2nd OU is that I'm not on board with the "in moderation" stance. No judgement from me- but for me personally, there is absolutely nothing that is worth the risk. Flame away

Like I just said. I think with this stuff it's all about knowing about your body, your risks, and understanding what you're comfortable with. I have epilepsy so drinking and a lot of things are already dangerous for me so I definitely won't so them while pregnant. The only thing I have zero understanding of is smoking or doing drugs while pregnant.
Can I plug Expecting Better again? Cause she stresses that the two key things are knowing what the research really says and then deciding what is right for you. That's what I live by....
In regards to the 'rules', It comes down to: if you feel comfortable/confident, then go ahead. If you don't, then don't.
Just because I'm avoiding deli meat doesn't mean I expect the next momma to. And just because some mommas will give me 10 articles on how it's ok to drink wine at some point, doesn't mean I will

I just ordered it after seeing this! I was reading my Mayo Clinic book from my first pregnancy and noticed a line where it said something like 'whatever you drink, your baby drinks the same thing' and it kind of struck me as fear mongering and made me want something else.

Agree totally. I think the only problem comes when people who chose to abstain (or not) judge those whose opinions differ. Like someone said (onyx maybe?) read the research, talk to your trusted provider, and make the best decision for you and your family. Don't judge others who make a different decision. (Obviously this doesn't apply to the big no nos!)
