I'm trying to mod-podge scrapbook paper into wooden letters. I paint some on (with a foam brush), apply the paper, smooth it out, and paint over the paper. The paper ends up wrinkling and bubbling in areas. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe using too much? I'm brand new at using mod-podge!
When I applied paper pieces to wooden blocks, I had a lot of bubbling too. I tried to use a thinner layer of MP. After it had dried enough that it wasn't too tacky, I got a piece of wax paper and laid it on top of the MP'd piece and rubbed my thumb over the top to squeeze the bubbles out. After it dried a little more, I went over it with another thin coat of MP.
I covered an entire wooden horse with scrapbook paper. Feel your pain here bradly215. I ended up using a different adhesive to actually glue the paper TO the wood (Tacky glue I believe), and then once it was dry, Mod Podged for sealing.
