I still haven't gone to bed yet but we are doing elimination communication and I got Lo to poop in the toilet twice and one of those times he peed. It's getting off to a good start! Of course ds 1 who has been pooping in the potty since 9 weeks and will be 3 years old in may had an accident when we were at toys r us but that's my fault I should have insisted we all go potty before we left but I was distracted by dh wanting to leave because ds was hungry and the coupon I was printing wasn't coming out of the printer. I'm still trying to get the hang of this taking care of two kiddos thing!

I'm up feeding LO and the cat is trying to dig under his door. Go away kitty!
Also, is anyone still dealing with blocked tear ducts? LO's eyes are so crusty. I know they will more than likely clear up on their own, but I'm getting impatient. My eyes are crusty from allergies and it's driving me nuts, so I'm sure LO hasn't been terribly comfortable being crusty for nearly two months.
laceysbryan F still wakes up with crusty eyes most days. I asked my midwife about it at the last appointment and she said it's normal and to use breastmilk to get it off. F doesn't seem to mind, it obviously bothers me more than her since she doesn't know any different.
I moved Lo to his pnp last night. It's still in our room but not next to me. He woke up about 45 minutes after laying him down. Got him back to sleep just to have him wake up again about 45 minutes in. Finally got him back to sleep and got a 5 hour stretch. Now we are up for a 3 am feeding which I have had to do in awhile. Hopefully we will get another long strech!

LO slept strangely last night, bed at 830 (early for him & restless), up at 1145 for an hour to nurse (usually STTN), and then up at normal 530. I guess shots on Tuesday are still throwing the little guy off a bit :/ 9 weeks old today! My mom visits every Thursday (his birth day of the week) for lunch, so that's something to look forward to; I love SAH, but sometimes it's lonely.

The dictator got his 2 month shots yesterday. Poor kid definitely has some pain in his legs and a slight fever. I think the Tylenol I gave him just kicked in. Sleeping soundly in my arms.

I just pumped while in the tub. This is what happens when you have appointments every day plus preschool, 3 kids and no sleep. Sleep in and you gotta pump and get clean do them at the same time.
Lo was SO crabby yesterday! Even while nursing. It was a long, frustrating day. He gave us a 7 hour stretch though, so I'm hoping he just needed sleep. I miss his baby smiles!
Eta: Nope, going on day 3 of cranky baby over here. I'm nervous for tomorrow. He gets his shots tomorrow and that certainly won't improve his mood. I hate seeing my little dude so sad.
LO had his two month shots yesterday and about 4 hours afterwards all hell broke loose. Poor guy was hysterical. I gave tylenol and he finally konked out and slept a lot last night but it was hard to see my poor boy so sad
I've almost officially stopped pumping and my feelings are a little mixed about it and I'm at the MW now and I've gained even more weight from when DS was born and I'm so heartbroken
This stomach flu is sweeping through our house! It really sucks because everything is off and I feel like I am losing one of my last weeks home because of it. My poor little guy has some kind of deep nasal congestion that I can't clear up with the Nose Frida or bulb syringe. It is terrible, he is so snorty and has trouble nursing in the mornings especially. His nose is clear otherwise but there is definitely congestion somewhere. If we weren't all sick and housebound I would get some saline drops to try...
I counted yesterday and I go back to work in 13 days! I am dreading it! I feel so far removed from that and I am not at all ready to leave my baby. It really sucks
So Owen slept in the crib last night for the first time from 11-1, 2-5, 530-7. Two more wakings than we are used to but at least he slept. Sad and happy at the same time.

Pooping in the potty since 9 weeks? Is that for real?
laceysbryan, DS2 has a blocked tear duct too. Part of our morning routine is wiping his eyes with a warm wet washcloth. The pediatrician said it could take 6 months for it to clear up.

Yep! We took a break from 11 weeks to 14 weeks when I visited family because I thought they'd think we were weird, but other than a few resistant weeks when he assert his independence or if we'd be out all day with no potties nearby, I've had maybe one accident per month. That's why I started trying at 6 weeks with this guy... I basically wanted to wait until he didn't have a floppy head. I would have tried earlier with ds 1 but I had no idea about elimination communication. I thought my friends were crazy when they told us about it but you basically hold Lo over the toilet after they wake and after eating and soon they associate the cues you give them with going, ie. making a hissing sound or saying go pee pee etc.

Day six on hasn't-pooped-yet watch. I know breastfed babies can go a long time, but it's hard not to be nervous. DS pooped all the time! I guess I should be thankful I'm saving on wipes? DD is still very gassy though. Day three of probiotics and no major improvements yet. In fact, she was up from 5-6am with gas pains. And her farts could peel wallpaper! DS is starting to not only be okay with preschool, but today he was even excited to go in and play with the trains, and waved goodbye to DH through the window. Hooray!

I thought I had misunderstood that too! grommom I have never heard of that, but if it works then you are super mom. My 3 yr old nephew is still in diapers.

LO had clogged tear duct too for maybe a couple weeks only. I used BM to wipe his eye and the pedi told me to massage the inside corner of his eye with my (clean) pinkie often during the day. I'd massage it everytime I nursed.
So I keep a receiving blanket on the couch for burping or just the random spit up. I wash them with tide free and clear and they still smell like spit-up! Is there a way to get that smell out because washing them isn't working?
grommom, I just can't imagine DS2 knowing when he's peeing or pooping because I don't even know if he's aware of his body yet. But it would be so nice to have them out of diapers sooner. DS1 is 28 months and still probably 6 months away. He'll pee on the potty a few times per day sometimes but usually shows no interest.

DS is 3 in May. I think he's finally ready, but I'm so busy with DD that I don't know when I can give it my full attention.

Going to donate 400oz of milk today to make room in our freezer. I'm glad I can help out but I'm sad it has to go. Is that weird? Yeah that's weird. Milk hoarder over here
stephanielouise that is crazy you were able to store that much! I was proud when I counted my 153 oz I have today! Not to mention I assume you have a separate freezer for this? Yes I am a milk hoarder and wish I had more! It makes me feel good to stock up on it lol I'll even get upset if my husband gives a second bottle while I'm gone when I know he should have only needed one.
