I read Babysitter's Club books I loved them so much. I also enjoyed reading R.L. Stine books too.

ETA: I think my BSC books are in my parents attic so I hope that I have a child who will be interested in reading them.  I hope those books are still in the attic.

BSC, sweet valley twins, the enchanted forest chronicles, Nancy Drew, the giver, so many good books.

eta I never liked RL Stein - I read some at my cousin's insistance, but just couldn't get into them

I read Island of the Blue Dolphin in 5th grade and that has stuck with me. I loved The Giver in 7th grade. 1984 in 9th. I loved the choose your own adventure books and had all of TBSC, Goosebumps, and Animorphs

I remember also reading A Wrinkle in Time in 6th grade I loved that book and read the rest of the series on my own.

I'm an only child (this might explain a few things about me to some of you) so I would have my mother purchase a ton of books from the scholastic book order every time. I have quite the collection of books (most I've never read)

I loved A Wrinkle in Time. I'm hoping V gets more into books/letting me read to her. There are so many books I want to read to her, like that one, and Harry Potter, and The Wind in the Willows . . . she's not generally willing to sit still or be read to, which makes me question whether or not she might have been switched at birth.

BSC, Sweet Valley, The Boxcar Children, Wayside School stories. I never read any R.L. Stine books. Anything I could get my hands on really.

Did anyone ever get any of the hardback classic books, like Black Beauty, Little Women and Robinson Crusoe? We had a lot of those that I remember reading.

Now I want to go back and read all the children's books, lol.

Hmmm, pass on. I have a lot of my favorites still on a bookshelf. I have the Series of Unfortunate Events books that I am saving for the future but not many more.

Ok, so I am trying to remember a short series... maybe a trilogy? There were at least two sisters, an older one and a younger one. It was a sad book because they were in a bad situation but I think the older sister went off and made something of herself while watching out for her sister. I don't know... this is probably a horrible explanation. I think the title was something about Home?

I loved the Wayside School books, bu I didn't know anyone else ever read them.

I also read BSC, LOVED Sweet Valley High, R. L. Stein, Christopher Pike, Harry Potter (I was a little older when I read those), but Ella Enchanted my all time favorite. Picture books; A Million Chameleons, The Big Red Barn, There's a Nightmare in my Closet, But Not the Hippopotamus. I read a ton when I was younger. When I got in trouble my mom would take away my books, it was the worst punishment for me.

Love love loved Ella Enchanted. It is still on my bookshelf... and my cat's full name is totally Prince Charlemagne

I was also punished like that. I brought books to the dinner table and read books under my desk at school.

I loved pretty much everything y'all have already mentioned - BSC, SVH, Boxcar, Nancy Drew, Beverly Cleary, Face on the Milk Carton, Wayside School, Choose Your Own Adventure. I also loved books by Johanna Hurwitz.

+1 for A Wrinkle in Time. I loved that entire series! Some other favorites were Chronicles of Narnia (though I actually enjoyed those books as a young adult more than I did as a child) and of course Harry Potter. I hope to read all those books with/to my future children!

I read BSC and Sweet Valley Twins A LOT as a teenager but I don't really consider those to be fine literature that must be passed on to the next generation...

Anything by Roald Dahl (BFG, Matilda, Witches, etc) or Shel Silverstein. I have all of the poetry books in hard cover...a little worn from use, but I'm excited to let my kids read them one day.

Man, I still remember the feeling I had when I started reading Harry Potter. It was the first time I yearned for the next book, KWIM? Maybe that's sad, but it's totally true.
