What, if anything, do you do for Easter? My son is 1.5 and I didn't do anything last year and don't even know when it is this year. Not even bunny pictures.
I worry that if we never do anything for Easter when other kids ask him what he did he will have to explain himself and maybe be ostracized or made to feel bad. or will feel left out?
Easter has no particular meaning to me even though I grew up with egg hunts, baskets and bunny pictures. I think my current inaction is sort of a push against how it seems Easter has become second Christmas and I don't think that was ever the intention.
We do the Easter bunny. It's fun and whimsical We do an egg hunt and lunch with DH's side and dinner with my side. For the rest of the family Easter is a religious holiday but to me Easter is about life/fertility/spring.

We've taken him for pics with the Easter Bunny & an egg hunt for the first time last year since he was old enough to 'get it.' Planning on doing the same this year. I see it kind of as a spring kickoff, just fun activities for the kiddo.

Easter is our welcome to spring. We do egg hunts, baskets and the Easter bunny, and we've fallen into a tradition of working in the garden after Easter breakfast with my extended family. I like it a lot, it's a nice, low-key, family-centered holiday for us.
We also do Easter baskets and hunting for eggs at both our house and my parents' house. We also have Easter dinner there, but my mom is the only one who prays before we eat.
We do Easter Bunny, egg hunts and celebrate the Spring season. Both sides of our family are non-practicing Catholics so we don't celebrate Easter as a religious holiday.
We are having my family over for an egg hunt and dinner on Easter. My dad will probably pray before we eat, and that'll be about as religious as it gets.
Can't wait for the little ones running around the yard with their little baskets. And the lamb roast! Yummm

We do the Easter Bunny. A fun thing similar to Santa. DS will get an Easter basket this year but otherwise we have no specific plans other than brunch with me, DH, DS, and my mom. I am sure once he is a little older we will do egg hunts or something else. I like how others look at it as a kick off to spring!
We do spring stuff. Easter is a pagan holiday, anyway
We did bunny photos, we do egg hunts, spring flower/umbrella/bunny/etc art, and we might dye eggs this year. It doesn't have to be labeled "Easter", just fun activities!
We are dying eggs, playing Easter bunny, having baskets, and having lunch with DH's non-religious family. i get to eat ham, deviled eggs, and chocolate. I also get to drink mimosas because we call it brunch. Pretty much my idea of a perfect day.
And I find it kind of funny that I grew up celebrating the resurrection of a religious Jew with... ham??? Really, Mom? Lol. I don't think Jesus would be impressed.
My little guy is still too young to know what's going on, but I got him a little Easter basket. I look forward to decorating eggs in future years. And like others mentioned, I equate Easter with Spring wildflowers and nice weather. That in itself is cause for celebration for me!

ha ha! just another example of people making religion fit into what they want to instead of what it says. My family always ate ham too.
for us we do Easter baskets and egg hunts, but that's it. I always loved Easter growing up for the candy and my birthday being near or even on it several times, plus the whole arrival of spring.
