Aubrey is my super sassy girl. She loves to be a princess and wear dresses and dress up clothes. She is so cute that she gets away with way too much. She'll do something then smile and give me hug and she'll get out of time out. I can tell she will give me a run for my money as a teenager.


Aubrey Loves bubbles!

Being on her "Dora bike" even though this girl can't steer and I have to crouch walk to keep her out of the grass.

She also loves to steal my ipad!

Shane is my sweet boy. He loves to give hugs and just snuggle with me. My little mama's boy. He is doing so well in school this year and is so smart. He just picks things up so quickly it amazes me.
He loves to dance and be silly.

Shane is very outgoing around other people. He will talk to everyone and ask tons of questions. Aubrey likes to warm up to people before she's really comfortable around them. If Shane and I are nearby she will talk much more. Shane is very cautious about new things. Even though he is kind of wild and crazy he likes stick with what he knows.  Aubrey will try anything she wants. For example she will climb anything but if it's too high Shane will want me to help him or go to something else. 

They are both very energetic and love to be on the move!

They get along really well, which is surprising because Shane basically ignored Aubrey for the first year of her life. Now they like having each other around. Sometimes Aubrey will only hold Shane's hand instead of mine. And it's super cute they way they look out for each other. If Aubrey asks for a snack she will make sure I give her one for Shane and she gives it to him even if it's something she really likes. 

They love to play tag, which Aubrey just likes to be chased around the house. They also like to dance, go for walks and play outside together.

This is a hard one! They do a lot together and it's more whatever mood they are in than one thing they like to do alone. I would say bath time is the one thing they prefer to have to themselves. They love having the whole tub to play in. Shane likes to do solo shopping trips with us too but he doesn't complain if Aubrey goes with.

Shane surprises me with how sensitive he is. Even though he is a pretty wild kid he hates to hurt anyone's feelings and gets really upset if he does.

I think Aubrey's stubbornness surprises me a bit, Shane can be stubborn but nothing like Aubrey. I guess it shouldn't be that surprising since H and I can both be stubborn but after having Shane who would usually give in, having Aubrey who will fight until the death is a big change!

The two shows they both love are Odd Squad and Curious George. After that there is a battle. Shane likes to watch super hero's and Aubrey wants sprout or Frozen.

Oh I forgot Shane's favorite thing to do in school- Play with his friends. He has two BFF's and they play together all the time. His school has a little play ground and they bring out these cool tricycles when the weather is nice so he loves that.

Can I say not at all? I guess I didn't really know what to expect.

With Shane I had always expected to have girls, when I knew I was having a boy I was excited but I didn't really know what little boys were like, besides the stereotypical stuff. I am a little surprised he isn't into sports, but we don't watch a lot of sports here so that might be why. 

Then when I was pregnant with Aubrey I was hoping for another boy because everyone in my family that has a brother/sister relationship was not close to their sibling my mom, dad, tim all are not close to their opposite sex sibling so I was pretty upset that Aubrey was a girl.  Everything about Aubrey was a surprise, and she keeps surprising me. When she was born I was like "i'm so crazy because she is the perfect addition to our family!"

I really like having them 3 years apart. I couldn't imagine them being closer in age. When Aubrey was a newborn Shane could entertain himself with other things while I was feeding her. now that they are older they still can do things together and have special activities just for there age. 

I also think Aubrey and Sadie will be a dangerous combo. I don't know if Chicago is ready for so much sass!

somethingcleverer, they are both so cute! I am so glad to hear Shane is doing well in school this year! Bubbles are a favorite around our house too! I spent a good 40 min. yesterday blowing them for LO so she could run and pop them.

Is Shane in kindergarten? Was that a hard transition for you/him? He must be on the younger end of his class. That is great that he is doing so well.

When is the cutoff for you guys? I know I have a while, but I am already thinking about if Greta should be old or young for her grade (she too has a September birthday).

paddyb the cut off is September 1st Shane's birthday is the 24th. After all the trouble shane had last year, I'm grateful for an extra year of preschool. I had a friend whose son had trouble adjusting to prek and kindergarten and she wished she had the extra year to adjust.
