I'm taking a lazy mom day. DH went off to Florida again for the week, so it's just me and my crappy feeling self.
I got the boys breakfast and changed the little one's diaper and sent them on their way to entertain themselves while I slept some more, lol! I'm also skipping naps since they've just been bumming around on their tablets, so bedtime should be easier!
They're 5 and 2.5, so no worries about me leaving babies alone

We were on Oahu, because that's where the wedding was. Highlights: We were able to make to the into interior for some cool hikes and got to hang out in North Shore. I love the vibe in Hale'iwa.
We went to Kauai for our honeymoon and we loved the hiking and kayaking we got to do! Everything is so pretty there!

Ftm question. When can you leave kids alone?
I'm trying to remember when my mom first left me alone... maybe 11 or 12? For like and hour or so?
elenetxu and slurpeelove - Its not super unhealthy just lots of sugar. Plus I said at least one bowl. One night last week I ate 4 bowls for supper. Yikes!
I eat at least 2 bowls of cereal a day! Plus it's always my go to when I wake up in the middle of the night, nauseous.
Ditto. I have had so much cereal since getting pregnant. Probably more than in the last 5 years combined.

Alone alone depends on situation, childs personality, and how long. 12 is typically a guidline age for alone alone. Mayyybe 10 with a cell phone if just popping over to the store but depends on the kid.
However, I think she meant in the house without direct eye contact supervision. Like showering or napping while they watch TV.

Maybe I should also ask when can you trust them not to kill themselves with unsupervised time?
Sorry I know a little ridiculous and probably just depends on the kid but the post made me realize that I have 0 idea about all this stuff!

Am I the only one stalking the board for new posts?! *crickets chirping* Yeah I thought so...
Actually, no, I check while I'm at work. Since I have no access here. It has been a long day and I left a few things there unsaid, I may eventually say them though.
Just got home from a long day at work. Hubby's sick as shit and asleep in our bed... Wonder if I can fit in my kids crib with him since our couch is uncomfortable as all hell?

I assume you mean alone as in not watching them in the same room? Because that's what I meant; I hope it didn't come off like I left my kids by themselves in the house! I felt pretty confident with them playing in another room at about one, but I'm nowhere near a helicopter mom and live in a pretty small house. I also have independent kids, and I'd imagine personality plays into it.
My random is that I'm so happy I found the new board and got everything including tapatalk working on my phone! I probably posted once a day or so on the other board, but will try to be more active now that I know how much I missed it when it was gone.
Also I am about to go through the drive through at DD for a pre dinner glazed donut. I'll be paying cash and eating the evidence...

Definitely depends on the kid. I trust dd who is 15, but she has NO desire to be home alone.
I'm not far out of bed now, but DH gets me up at 4 when he leaves, and I'm one of the horrible people who can't nap no matter how hard I try. It sucks!

I just left the doctor and she advised me against doing the genetic testing. I'm low risk and I don't think she wanted to deal with my fainting and puking routine. Quite frankly, neither did I. She referred us to an imaging center for the anatomy scan in 3 weeks and they have a level 2 ultrasound machine. I'm going to call tomorrow and make our appointment for as soon as I can. She said between 18 and 20 weeks. 18 it is!
Also, we heard the heartbeat and she said the baby is definitely moving like crazy!! She seemed surprised when I said I could feel the baby moving until she put the Doppler on there. Maybe I have a little boxer.
Speaking of pink starburst... Just another reason to LOVE Taco Bell
I NEED THIS. Like now. I'm supposed to go to sonic for $0.50 corn dogs with DH for dinner but I'm thinking a change of plans is in order.
In other news, one of my coworkers walked up to me to today, stuck her hand under my jacket and on my belly, and asked me if I was pregnant. I wanted to be like, nope, that bump is all the poop I can't get out right now. But really - I didn't think I was showing?
CALEO - my kids are 6&8 and can be mostly unsupervised (with me still here at home) playing outside with friends and with me here for probably the last 1.5 years. As long as they check in every couple hours I'm good. I've been taking a shower while they were awake since my youngest was around 2. I'd just set him up with something and not be super leisurely. My daughter (8) has always been very responsible so i trust her to alert me if I need to be. I am what you'd call a free range parent, though, so I'm sure some people would have different answers.

I just have to AW for a second...because I'm super excited about my new secret!! I was able to work something out at work to stop traveling and work from home. It's still under wraps, and a pretty big demotion, but it's a solution that works wonderfully for us, and I even technically got a raise with it!
Also, DHs last job interview went well! He is not able to get anything in writing until the end of the month because of his current contract, but he was able to work out the details today, so we are one step closer to his new job which finalizes which town we move to. Then I get to buy a house and start looking at new hospitals/OBs, day care (if I need it now I guess!), pediatrician a, etc. I can actually start prepping for baby's arrival, yay!
We ordered Chinese and got caught up on Vanderpump Rules tonight. Is it weird I love that DH secretly loves all my trashy TV shows? I really do feel like we bond so much over the ridiculousness of them. Its so cute haha
