I am making a huge mistake with my lunch choice. I am eating a whole bag of the kale, brussel sprout, broccoli, cabbage salad. I am not a work pooper and I have to go directly to DD's gymnastics class after work. I think I probably will explode by the end of the day, but it is sure tasty going down.

I just figured out what people mean when they post "El oh el". I had never seen that until I started posting on TB again in November. Now I'm kind of embarrassed that it took me so long to get it.
I don't know how, but DS found out about the new baby. Apparently, he's more perceptive than we knew.
Sunday night , he randomly walked up to me, poked my bloat and asked, "is there a baby in there?" My puzzled "yes" was followed by a whole lot of questions that I wasn't prepared to answer of my newly four year old: -How did the baby get in there? -What's the baby doing in there? -How will it get out? -How does it eat? -Is it happy?
We watched a whole bunch of YouTube videos about fetal growth and development. Yesterday, he handed me a bell pepper and said, "eat the pepper now. Baby's going to love it."
So, that happened.
This. Is so adorable. We talk pretty freely about the new baby around our son, but usually referring to it as the "fruit" of the week. So I have no idea how much he knows. I guess we'll see.
I am normally pretty busy so most days it won't work out because of commitments after work but I'm trying to do it for the environment and all that jazz. We'll see how long this lasts.
Good luck That's one thing I'm thankful for - not having to drive to work.. Mass transit for the win! Me time for 1 hour each way.
I'm in construction and have been trying to schedule an inspection since 8 am - It's been near damn impossible to get anyone from the building department on the phone that can actually help me. I finally made it happen, 5 hours later. This makes me happy. (random happiness)
And my H and I tell our DD 20 months about the baby all the time. Our mistake. She now walks up to me and lifts my shirt and pokes me in the belly button while saying really loud, Baby. Baby. Baby. Ummm yea, we haven't gone public with this news yet.
Do any of you ladies still refer to going to your parent's town/house as "going home"?
Sometimes. But, especially since H and I are really by ourselves wherever we are (also military), I try to be very conscious that wherever we are together is home.
My dad still lives in the house I grew up in, my grandmother (dad's mom) still lives in my hometown, and most of our family lives in the same state, so that's where we visit. My mom moved with her husband across the country when I was in my early 20s, and that's definitely 'Mom's house' or 'Salt Lake,' but not home (not because we don't get along or she makes me unwelcome, we're very close, but it's not my home).
I woke up dizzy this morning, which is pretty weird. I feel just odd today. It sucks because it is absolutely insanely beautiful outside and I bought two flats of pansies that I want to plant. Hopefully if I can eat something I can get outdoors.

I was definitely caught off guard. Although DH and I talk occasionally about the pregnancy around DS, we really hadn't planned on formally telling him (and addressing the inevitable questions) until just before the 20-week anatomy scan. So, I'll admit, I dodged the 'facts of life' aspect of "how did it get in there?" - a really, really tiny fertilized egg.
I'm currently scrambling for some library books that might help with some accurate explanations, suitable for a four year old. The two minute BC videos about fetal growth are actually awesome for a visualization of the "tiny baby."
It's so damn amazing how perceptive kids are. They surprise me everyday, which seems moronic to say. It'd be interesting to know what your DS thinks, too!
Haha, Thank god no one I know posted that. A coworker sent it to me as a joke. Of course the first thing I thought of was "oh this is perfect to share on WTF Wednesday"...until I remembered it was only Tuesday...

A few weeks ago DS told me a baby sister was coming out of his tummy. We haven't officially told him but he's heard us talk about the pregnancy a little.
This past week I have been compelled to organize, purge, situate our 3rd bedroom (my office/storage catch-all) in preparation for needing another nursery. Aside from driving my DH insane, I am also feeling really conflicted about putting the cart before the horse (or jinxing myself, I guess), but I cant stop organizing!

DD doesn't know yet, but I keep asking her if she'd like a baby brother or sister. Last night she said "yes, but this time only a real one". She has no clue and i am getting excited trying to think of ways to surprise her.

I always ask my 3yo nephew if he is excited about his little brother coming (SIL is due in April) he said "You ask me that over and over again". Welp, true, but you don't have to call me out buddy.

My DD (age 3.5) just KNOWS about the baby too, but she switches between HER having a baby, and ME having one. She will say "No mama, I don't want the carrots, my baby doesnt like them, remember?" as she rubs her tummy. and a few nights ago she was sitting on the pot and was "measuring" my tummy with the toilet paper and then started hitting my belly. I told her no of course, and she said without a doubt "well that baby in there is a boy, and boys like to hit sometimes. I'm just playing with him mommy!" So apparently she knows there's a baby in there, and it's a boy.
Ridiculously, I'm having a BIRD about the weather tomorrow (80% chance of snow/sleet/rain/ice) and the fact that my first doctor's appt is FINALLY tomorrow. I'm ten weeks today - it's time to see what's going on in this High Risk mama's ute.
Oh no!! I hope they're wrong, or that you're able to get to your appointment either way. Waiting is so hard, and I'm sure being high-risk is so stressful
On a completely less importnant note (but still totally random!)... I'm tired of being a n00b! 100 posts is taking much longer than I thought it would. I've taken to blowing up an empty board (baby gear) for posts. Pathetic!

I'm, finally, getting my half bath redone today! We've had all these plans to update our house but just never got to them. As soon as we found out about baby MH is all about getting shit done!
On the kids note. My boys are so excited about the baby. They're much older though. My 8 yr old always wants to hear the heartbeat and watches videos on YouTube.
My 10 yr old can't wait to change diapers... If you can believe that!

So I have survived my angel's EDD with just a few minor wobbles. Sending myself off to bed now, ready to start my two week countdown to my u/s.
My last random for the night: DH gave me a cuddle when he got in from work as I didn't see him this morning. Me: I didn't think you'd remember what today is. It took you like two years to learn my birthday. DH: Actually, I still haven't learnt your birthday...

I'm being a PW today because I really want to get to 100 posts.
On another note for those who read the "lets play a game" thread, I just took a shower and finally shaved my legs. They were gross.
