I spent exactly 15 k on my wedding. I picked my dream venue which included the food. My food was so good. I have to say I spent more than half my budget on it. I spent the second mostcamouhtbon my photographer. I'm so glad I did he did the best job and I loved all the pictures. Everything else I bargained shopped and diy'd. My cousin just got married in LA and she spent 80 k on hers and I'm thinking that's the norm there. I live about an hour outside LA in a much smaller town.
I'm on the spend what you want in your wedding side of the fence. We spent about 30k for about 100 guests and I would pay it all over again. We had the time of our lives, and 3 years after the fact, we still talk about how awesome it was. We paid for it mostly ourselves, and although we did take out a loan, it was 0% interest and we paid it off before that deal ran out. We had already purchased our home before we were married, so it didn't take any money away from something like a down payment. We have amazing photos and memories and I wouldn't trade one second of that day to save a few dollars.
Im not even sure if this falls under the category of UO but I'll say it anyway.. Drivers that tailgate annoy me immensely, I can understand that sometimes people are in a rush for whatever reason, an emergency ect and are looking for the next opportunity to overtake, which is fine as long as you do it safely but those who are so close to my behind that I cannot see their headlights are just driving dangerously especially when I am going to correct speed limit for the road. Most of the time I am doing the correct speed and I am not going too slow, the only time I would go slower are weather conditions ect. I do not agree with speeding.. If you intend to speed then overtake me and speed, don't try and push me to speed up by driving too closely to me. It's scary because if I have to slam my brakes in an emergency you are going to run into the back of me. Also, if they do overtake they tend to cut back in way too soon and close.. It just frustrates me.. I don't believe everyone is in a rush I think some get joy out of driving recklessly and intimidating others. Anyone else have any other driving woes?

I'm with you on this. I would always seem to run into this same really aggressive driver on my way to work in the morning... to the point that I told DH her license plate number in case she got all road ragey on me. She'd honk at everybody for minor things, like stopping at a stop sign long enough to look both ways before moving forward (at an intersection notorious for accidents). I know it wasn't just me being overcautious, because she literally did it to anybody she got behind in the mornings at that intersection.
I might get some flames for stooping the this level, but one day I was at a red light to turn right behind a car that was going straight. There was possibly enough room that I could have squeezed by, but I didn't want to chance it. Same lady pulls up behind me and starts laying on the horn so much that the car in front of me rolls forward enough that I could for sure fit. I chose to stay put anyway. I'm glad my schedule adjusted enough that I don't run into her anymore.
I also get a twisted sense of satisfaction when I see an aggressive driver get pulled over after being in such a hurry to pass me on the free way.

I think you did the right thing, no one should be intimidated into anything, if your not sure it's safe don't do it.. Trust your gut. Too bad she's behind you.. She has to deal with it. Her behaviour could just cause accidents and she's not going to get anywhere any faster. She sounds crazy if you ask me!
