Hello lovely ladies!
This will be a weekly check-in for those of us waiting to start an IVF or FET cycle. I recognize many names from IF on the-place-that-shall-not-be-named, but many of the 3T ladies are new to me. I look forward to getting to know everyone!
If you have any suggestions for this check-in, including QOTW suggestions, please let me know!
If you are not on the list but would like to be added, please introduce yourself below.
Tell us what's going on with you this week! What's your next milestone? Waiting on O? AF? Appt with RE? Test results? Etc?
QOTW: My DH has been reading about the best countries in the world to live. If you could live in any country in the world, where would it be?
Post by bootsorhearts on Jan 20, 2015 9:53:27 GMT -5
I finally got a +OPK (actually three in a row the last three days. Hmmmm.) So I hope O is near and then AF 2 weeks after that and then finally we can get this show on the road! We are planning a natural FET of our 2 frozen embies, a 1BB and a 3CD.
QOTW: I would like to move back to Canada because hockey, eh? And I miss winter. And I miss Canadians. And I want my kid to have a Canadian accent. Is that wrong? What is that aboot?
Hi there! I have an IVF consult appnt. on Monday. Have all my other tests in, and meet with a nutritionist today as part of the process as well. I'm hoping I can cycle right away.......fx.
Edit for QOTW:
That is a TOUGH question. I suppose if I could pick up all my friends and family I might go to Paris....or Rome. I love both.

Oh I forgot! There was a badge on Voldemort, would anyone like to make us a new badge? I am travelling for work the next few days but I can work on one when I get back!
Thanks for putting this together bootsorhearts So... where did you guys live in Canada? I'm in Ontario (from BC) and I totally don't have an accent, eh? (OK, maybe that last part.) No really though, I love it here too
Good luck with the nutritionist today murrt! I love mine, and I started feeling so much better once I started getting my nutrition in check
AFM - Not much going on. I start acupuncture again tomorrow, and I have to book my fitness test for the next couple of weeks, ahhh!!!! (Not looking forward to doing that again. I'm so nervous that it's going to be a repeat of last time, and I'll be delayed.) I was supposed to get my pre-cycle bloodwork (infectious diseases, that kind of thing) done today, but left it sitting on the bench in my front hall. Tomorrow's another day, right?

tptbabe I grew up in Winnipeg but also lived in Toronto. My parents live in a small town east of Toronto. I would probably go to Vancouver though, it's like the Seattle of Canada right? Haha! Wait, they make you do a fitness test for IVF?? That is craziness. Thank the stars I didn't have to do that. Would have failed miserably. #couchpotato
FX for you tptbabe! Good luck with your fitness test, too!
murrt, I've for everything crossed that you'll be able to cycle soon. GL with the nutritionist!
bootsorhearts you must be soooo ready to get this show on the road. FX that O is soon/has already happened
AFM nothing to report after yesterday's IUI. Just gotta wait 2 weeks and POAS and go from there.
QOTW: another former Canadian! If I ever realistically moved to a new country it would be Canada since the citizenship comes in handy. I love Canada. I love hockey. And bootsorhearts I want my kid to have a Canadian accent, too, but I'm afraid they will just be confused because MH is southern and has the accent to boot.
Married 10 years. DX: AMA, DOR, endo, one tube, +NK, homozygous MTHFR C677T, and abnormal endometrial function test. MFI with high DNA fragmentation and pericentric inversion on chromosome 9.
Can I join in here? I'm waiting on IVF #2 probably sometime this spring. We have our WTF scheduled on 1/27 and then we'll make a decision. We cycled out of state so traveling in the winter isn't that appealing and may cause more stress. We're on cycle 2 of TTA post D&C. Only temping for now since my cycles haven't regulated themselves yet. I'll probably add in OPK on cycle 4 to get better timing. It feels weird to avoid since we've spent 3 years trying so hard.
QOTW - I'm not really sure where I'd want to live. I want a small town feel with big city attractions. I like the idea of being able to walk or bike easily around a city and get fresh produce and goods while I was out.

Hi ladies - I just posted an intro, but thought I'd check-in here... We just had our appt with the RE on Friday where we agreed to move forward with IVF. Because of my cycle timing and the timing of their IVF class schedule (which is booked till 2/18), I won't be able to start my first IVF cycle until likely March... So, I'm waiting and trying to learn and figure out this whole thing. It's confusing!!!!!!!!
As for a country - I'm not sure where I'd want to go, maybe Spain? Just because I think it's pretty and I like the idea of lots of wine. Italy could work well too.

bluejoan Welcome! I'm sorry for your loss. I hope the spring brings happiness and new hope for you! mrsg80intn Welcome! It IS confusing! Just take it one step at a time and ask lots of questions, here and at your doctor's office.
bootsorhearts - It's actually for work, but I have to pass it before our next cycle, otherwise if by some freak chance it actually works, I'd have to do it while pregnant. And I'd rather not, you know?
We live just East of Toronto actually! (Commute into the city for work.) Love our neighbourhood Also, I realized that I forgot to answer the QOTW (is this anything new? I rarely remember to actually do that!)...
If DH had his way, we'd live in Hawaii (so, the US I guess?) but we used to have plans to retire in the South of France. It's our ideal situation really. We love to travel! We're planning our honeymoon (finally!) for our 10 year anniversary this summer, and we've narrowed it down to either Scotland, Spain, or Turkey. Turkey is definitely in the lead for this one! Technically, we've been on a ton of vacations since we got married, but we had to cancel our actual honeymoon when DH had to leave for training, so we're labelling this one

Hi All, Yet to do a formal intro on the IF board here, but could you add me to the Checkin?
bootsorhearts Thanks for the checkin. So does this mean the Feb flurries are no more? I’m keeping the badge though! Yay for the +OPK! And on doing a natural cycle. If my next FET doesn’t work out, I’ll likely ask my RE about this.
murrt wow a nutritionist. That is definitely not a part of my protocol. I’m afraid of what they would tell me. Hoping you get to cycle soon!
tptbabe acupuncture, fitness tests, nutritionists?? Wow, you all make me feel like I’m going about this IVF thing all wrong. All I do is go to the gym and the RE’s office. Good luck with the b/w.
firstbbq yay for starting something! You’ll be cycling before you know it.
bluejoan I’m so sorry for your loss.Hope your WTF goes okay. Did you do testing and get results back from your D&C? Hopefully your RE has insights to color your next cycle.
mrsg80intn GL with the planning for IVF#1! It feels weird saying this being a newbie here, but many of us have lots of different experiences and we learn from each other.
AFM - I am desperately waiting for AF to show up so that I can commence prep for FET#2. This is the longest I have had to wait, so I am getting impatient. My cycle after the last FET has been weird. Once AF shows, I've got 2 weeks of BCP to get some U/S work done and a mock transfer before starting Del Estrogen.
QOTW: This is a hard question. The world is so big! But if we are picking places to live, not just visit, I would say the Netherlands, because Dutch male eye candy!!! I have met many Dutch men because of my job and one thing they have all been was extra tall. They make you feel so small and dainty. Also, their maternity leave and holiday time off is on point.
I love both.
is meeting with a nutritionist pretty standard for IVF? I'm so curious as to what they say. Hope it goes well.
If I need to remove this, please let me know. I don't want to hurt anyone with this post.
bluejoan, thanks for the response and I hope that your RE can shed more light on the situation. I'm not sure how others who have, or have not, experienced loss may feel, but it may be a bit much to detail D&C results here. Anyone can let me know if I'm speaking out of turn.
If you have any questions, or want to talk more, we can always move to messaging.
Sha259 - I wouldn't go by what *I'm* doing, because clearly it didn't work last time! The acupuncture I know works for me, but the other stuff is for myself. I'm trying to get healthy for me
TTC#2 with assistance since 03/11 Me: 34, Autoimmune DH: 35, Severe MFI IVF/ICSI #1 05/14 - EPP/Antagonist: 18R, 14M, 13F - SET of 1BC, all arrested on day 5 - C/P IVF/PICSI #2 03/15 - Long protocol: 16R/11M/11F - 1AB&CM transferred - C/P 3BC&3BB frozen (Day 6) FET #1 11/15 - Natural cycle, LIT and IVIG: DET
mrsg80intn and Sha259 The nutritionist appointment is part of my protocol because my BMI is borderline for my RE's IVF clinic. I spoke with her about losing weight on my own and have been doing decent at it, but then one of the nurses told me that meeting with a nutritionist MIGHT be required by my insurance for IVF...she wasn't sure. I figured better to be safe than sorry. Besides, it won't hurt me to meet with a nutritionist. The only annoying factor was 1) She knew nothing about IVF - the concern about weight gain due to the meds, etc. 2) She's NOT a fan of low-carb diets so she was all about getting me to eat more carbs. 3) It was ANOTHER doctor's appointment where I had to spend time out of the office. Annoying.
murrt - I met with a nutritionist. It wasn't at all what I thought it would be :-) she helped me with my busy schedule get organized and prepared for healthy food for the week. She also suggested recipes based on things I liked to eat and helped me plan a weight loss strategy and a transition to maintenance when I finished. I thought she was just going to scold me - lol. Hopefully the one you meet with is as good matching food to your lifestyle and tastes as mine was. It was a good experience.
And I'm here to check in CD 28 here - AF due any moment......
Oh sorry - I just saw you met with her - sounds like a horrible nutritionist!!! Mine suggested pedialyte instead of gatorade for bloating - and lots of extra fluids. Easier said than done
Thanks for including me bootsorhearts . Well, AF finally arrived after 60 long days, so I am no longer 'waiting to cycle' but officially in the 'shit just got real' group. On my crazy estrace pills, lining check next Monday and FET scheduled for Feb 7th. Trying to keep as calm as possible even though super anxious...
I'm currently waiting for AF to hit (today or tomorrow) so I can wait for O, so I can start estrogen patches in prep for IVF #1. I don't know if I should be checking in here or on the CC thread? I checked in over there this week as I was (am?) A Feb Flurry. Any ideas?

lemonliz OK, well I've burned the bench and I consider myself in prep for IVF (says the million supplements I'm taking), so I'll check in on CC until life decides to throw another wrench at the situation.

Hi ladies, I think I go here. We had our final meeting with RE today to talkabout IVF#1 in Feb. She expressed concern about my risk of over stimulating and asked us about making the decision now to do a freeze all and then aFET in March. We finally decided to start stimming with a low to moderate med dose and plan for a fresh transfer I'll start stims on 2/13, with ER for week of 2/24
5 losses (2003, 2008, 03/12, 11/12, & 10/16) All RPL testing by several REs = all normal
All IF testing by several REs = all normal 5 IUIs (2014) = BFN
IVF#1 Feb '15= BFP! U/S 04/01 = 6w5d, HR 125!, SCH measuring 2cm U/S 04/06 = 7w5d, HR 165!, SCH measuring 4cm NT scan = 13w2d, SCH no longer visible Anatomy scan = Team green . All looks great! Rainbow born on 11/22/15, team pink!

Hi! First official check in if you wouldn't mind adding me to the list.
I had my HSG last Friday and discovered that my right tube is blocked and my left is open with adhesions. So we are going the IVF route. We are going to start working on getting our finances in line (waiting for tax return and then loans) and starting some supplements. Probably looking at April/May/June for IVF #1. I think my husband is leaning more towards May for EDD reasons.
Nervous to start this journey!
QOTW: I would have to head to Europe. Great travel opportunities all close together. Maybe Italy. Close to the sea, European benefits such as holiday and maternity leave, and lots of good wine. Sign me up.
