Wanted to say sorry that my app rating post was getting bumped today. I posted it last night before the 24 hr silence thing came about. Anyway, I hope I changed the title quick enough for you guys.
Also, anyone please to explain the nanda/mamasarge thing?
They gave me ALL THE PILLS when I had mine out. I was still coherent after I got there, so they had to give me the maximum dosage. I do not remember anything from the last dose up until noon the next day. It was awesome. Also, I hate the dentist and am a known biter, so the drugs were necessary, for everyone.
That last part made me literally LOL. Well maybe I will be that fortunate and not remember anything either lol.
They are just giving you pills? I got the IV and was out like a light. They woke me up 30 minutes later, teeth were gone, and I wanted to sing the whole way home.
I got one of my wisdom teeth out in September. It didn't hurt at all until like two weeks later. Then it was excruciating. So don't let a smooth recovery lull you into a false sense of security.
Also good luck! I hope they give you the good drugs
TWO WEEKS LATER?! What kinda shit is that?
And thank you! I'm not nervous...yet. But the doctor did tell me he was giving me a nerve pill to take tonight and one 2 hours before the surgery tomorrow and I'll be "so loopy I won't care if he cuts my head off" I swear to God his exact words.
It might have been a dry socket. The dentist should give you instructions on how to try to avoid it. It's really important to keep your gums moistened...I didn't take it seriously enough and OUCH.

Nanda hated mamasarge because she acts like a crazy twat.

*AMQF* Oh no, trust me. They're knocking me out cold. Pills are just extra I guess lol.

What the whaaa?? Some things are just unnecessary, but I'm also completely intrigued. Now you must be the product tester and report back with your review.
And it takes away the conundrum of which is worse. Sitting down on a cold seat, or a warm seat (because that means there was *just* a butt in that same spot).

LLP I sat down this morning and literally thought, wow, a heated seat would be nice right about now....lol
Urgh, I made a typo transferring a balance and overdrafted myself. Telephone service reps are useless until one told me it can be immediately reversed if I go into a branch....thank god!

My TSH was at diagnosis 13. That's really high. They put me on 25 mcg of synthroid. That's the lowest possible dose ever. It's almost nothing. Most people who are hypo are on higher doses. This dose is for people who are "borderline." I was not even remotely borderline - I was bad.
My TSH is currently 2.3, which is optimal.
I read my results this morning and said "wtf?" We've all been ready for a dosage increase today and now I'm like, "uhh..." But, I'm also saying "Yo, uterus. Get it together now."

I think they ease you onto those. My friend has a thyroid issue (so really I am a total expert) but they are slow to adjust her dosage too. I think they might have wanted to see how you respond first before putting you on a higher dose.

Yes, we were planning on building me up to higher doses in 25 mcg increments. Originally I was put on 75 mcg, but the increase in metabolism was too much for my migraines so I dropped down. I don't think anyone expected 25 mcg to be sufficient for me in any possible way. We all were thinking at least 75 mcg. Most stories I've read are more like the danib who was borderline hypo but needs 88 mcg to be normal. I was so much worse than borderline and I need so little. It's just confusing.
I wonder if there really is a direct relationship between TSH and synthroid or bodies really do respond in all kinds of ways.

That's great Joy! I'm the complete opposite. Mine was only slightly up (somewhere around 4.5 if I remember correctly) and it takes 80mcg to keep it normal.
Same here.. I'm on 75 mcg and am just now within normal range, but still not optimal - and my initial TSH wasn't incredibly high (I don't remember exactly what it was).. And now my T4 levels are really elevated, but according to my doc once the hypo diagnosis is made they don't really look too much at anything but TSH?...

So I had my facial earlier and I was in fucking heaven. The girl also did an arm, shoulder and neck massage during it and holy shit did she use a lot of pressure. I normally go light with my massages but that fucking hurt so good I don't think I'll go back.

joy - where are you getting the "optimal?" I know 2.3 is considered "normal", but 3.0 is now considered to be the threshold of normal and borderline hypo. My GP (who monitors my thyroid) tries to keep my TSH around 1 for TTC. I had a TSH of around 6 when I was dx'ed and now I'm around 1. It took a few months @ 75mcg to get me there (I started at 50 for 6 weeks in Sept).
My RE aims for TSH below 2.5 for pregnancy. Sorry, perhaps it was a bad choice of words. I don't think that either my RE or my GP will push for me to medicated further if this level stays steady. But, I could be wrong.
EDIT: You were at 6 and needed 75 mcg. I was at 13 and need 25 mcg? I tried to find out if there was a direct link between TSH and synthroid necessary but I haven't been able to find it. The reason I'm confused/worried/concerned is mainly with this result being a fluke. If I test again at this level then maybe I'll believe it, but it seems strange that such a low dose worked so well. Bodies are weird.

Hey, if you're down to 2.3 with only 25 mcg, that's great. Everyone is different. Most of the women in my family have thyroid disease and we are all on wildly varying doses to keep things "normal." Do you physically feel better?
My hair is still falling out in buckets. MAKE IT STOP.
Cognitively, I'm definitely better. I couldn't follow TV shows and would get stressed at many things happening at once because I couldn't focus, follow, or understand it all. I felt so mentally drained a lot of the time. Now, I'd call my brain sprightly :-)
