Question for you guys, how often does your LO fall while walking/running?
Declan's kind of klutzy and is forever tripping over his own feet. Plus he doesn't care if he steps on toys/edges which cause him to fall. I had dismissed it as normal toddler behavior and didn't think too much about it. He usually falls to his hands and knees and it's not a big deal. This week the teacher mentioned that she thinks he falls excessively and was concerned that he has balance issues. Now I'm worried and I can't get in to see the pediatrician until June 8th. I could probably get in at his old pediatrician in Jersey, but I had such a hard time getting the records transferred I'd hate to have do that again unless it's serious. Any thoughts?
deeds1017, that's what I had thought as well and we got him measured in February and his shoes were too small. It didn't seem to help much, but he might be due for another fitting. I guess a trip to the mall is in order this weekend. Thanks
pharmtechmom I've been thinking about you. Any updates? How are you feeling?
I'm doing well deeds1017. I'm still on bed rest. I'm still bleeding but doctor said as long as it's not bright red to not be frightened. It's basically my body doing its job. The SCH is right over my cervix. I go back for a sono & checkup on the 29th.
lia1303, I was going to say what deeds1017 said regarding the shoes. I keep watching Cam for signs that he needs to go up a size, but I just bought him some sandals and canvas sneakers for spring and he's still in his current size since he doesn't need socks with them.
I've also been thinking about you, pharmtechmom, wondering how you're doing. Glad all is well.
I'm a little short on patience lately with Cam. He's been getting frustrated a lot, throwing fits, and fighting sleep even more than usual (which I didn't think was possible). He consistently fights his nap afternoon nap until like 4:00, and then stays up and active until late. H and I sandwich him in our bed and I have to nurse him to sleep or he'll try to slide out of bed and keep running around. He used to at least go down in his crib SOME of the time. Sigh.
Update - Laney's AFO wearing days are over. They haven't helped her right side at all, so we are moving onto the Dennis-Brown Bars/Ponsetti braces. They are a stronger correction. However, it happens while she sleeps at night! So that part is really nice. The Podiatrist thinks over correcting will be much more helpful. FX
Just popping in to say Hi! Hope all you ladies had a good Easter.
Pharmtechmom, I hope things are going ok with your pregnancy. Reading your comment above sounds like everything is ok. Hope your upcoming appointment goes well.
Lia, dd falls a lot too. She doesn't watch what she is doing many times and will trip over toys or run into walls. I think its a toddler thing and a part of learning. I guess I never thought of it as a balance thing.
NinNin, hope the new braces work!
Mosy, hang in there. We are going through a rough sleep patch and clingy baby right now too. Hope it passes soon for you!
lia1303 I know with D OT did a test where they spin them in this cool swing to see how long they have nystagmus afterwards. D's eyes stayed in that state for some time. She said these children tend to be more prone to falling, getting dizzy, getting car sickness. She didn't say it was abnormal just something good to know. Sometimes it can be an ear issue. Her ears are good though. I wouldn't worry to much but bring it up with your Pedi.
Oh Delaney is also seeing a Pediatric Physiatrist tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what he thinks. We've been waiting on an appt for 6 months. He flies in for a week once a month to come see the kids here. So he is always booked out pretty far. Luckily someone cancelled and we got their spot!
So we are waiting on radiology to check her hips again. Physiatrist thinks she just has femoral anteversion and no neurological issues. He think her weakness on the upper part of her body is because she is hyper-mobile, and apparently I am too. If this is the case it is absolutely FANTASTIC news but may mean her and I have Ehlos-Danos Syndrome a genetic auto-immune disease. He told me not to fret about that until she is older though. We may not even have to back to Shriners! So FX this Dr is right and we can safely try for a #2!
On Amazon but the company is called mannequin maven. The 2yr old was $49, 3yr old was $49 and the 5yr old was around $60.
They're awesome! When is the show?
The show is May 3rd. I got some wholesale outfits. Just so I don't have to sew so crazily the last couple of weeks like last time. D just won't have it anymore. They are super nice mannequins. They have cloth bodies so they are completely pinnable and their arms and fingers bend and flex. I'm really happy with them. Although I have nothing to compare it too.
I'm also making my own table cloth. It will be burlap on top and over the edges. Then white ruffles to the floor! I'm very excited about my booth this time around!

If you need any help with custom signs or anything, let me know.
NinNin85 those are adorable and I love that shirt on the right hand mannequin, I would totally buy that. Open an etsy shop already lol.
I know I need to stock up my shoppe! My biggest issue is I can't get any of my photos from my phone to work on the computer. I've tried so many times. My other option is to wait until we finally have our photo shoot but we don't have a date set yet. We really need to get on that! Here's a pic of D in that outfit..
This company that I got my boy clothes from. Is willing to manufacture my designs too! I'm pretty excited about that after the show I have some designing work to do!
B had her 9 month evaluation and was cut down to PT once a month. Her goal this month is to walk on as many surfaces as possible, up and down hills, and over things. We took her to the park yesterday and she walked around the entire lake, through fields, over mulch, in sand, and squishy playground floor. Up hills, down hills, and over sticks. We held her hand for a lot of it, but she was doing really well. She is still sleeping from all the work! She is usually up between 4:30 and 5 and it is already 7
deeds1017 Will Rodger - we have a problem. I think I might take you up on your offer to help with logo design and cards. Photographer and I just had a HUGE miscommunication on doing that work. I asked if we could do that for exchange of goods. She said sounds good but apparently meant it for something else. She wants to charge me $150 and I just can't do that. My last bit of money was going to go into getting everything printed out not paying to have it designed. Are you still interested in helping?
I think Noodle's back is acting up...just as DH goes out of town for the week and my Mom is away. :-( I feel so bad for poor Noo. Probably going to take a half day to get him to the vet tomorrow w/o B in tow
