DH is away this week and he usually does bedtime. He must be magical or else she just misses him because she has cried every night for me so far. I want my DH back!
So first appointment went pretty much as expected deeds1017. Lots of tears. I think he was more freaked out than anything. The dentist had DH hold him facing him and then lay him down so his head was on the dentists knees. Then he counted teeth, scraped them with the pick, brushed them and put a little Flouride on them. I think it took 10 minutes tops. He has 13 teeth with 3 coming which surprised me. I didn't think there were that many in there yet.

I've been here, quietly love-titing. I only get just a few min through the day to check-in I have been soooo busy.
I started canning! I've done strawberry jam and applesauce, and tonight I am doing apple jelly. While it takes a while to do I like that I can drastically reduce the sugar in what I can. Plus Sprouts had awesome deals on fruit so I bought tons, and even after eating and freezing I still had some left.
I'm babysitting a friend's 2 kids tomorrow (4 year old and 7 month old), but the older girl is one of DD1's "most favorite" friends, so she's very excited to have her come over tomorrow. It should be fun, and perhaps a glimpse into my future??? I've started taking PNVs again...
We went to the store the other day and the cashier thought both girls were so cute she gave them both $1 lol.
DD1's nap situation (or lack thereof) is no bueno. She won't lay down during nap time, but a few hours later she is MELTING down and is a total bear. Letting her skip nap and go to bed earlier is not working because she is still staying awake way late. But if she does take a nap, it is later in the day and stays up late. Like today she fell asleep at 5:00 and was passed out (like I tried to wake her and she did not move) until 6.
Ladies, how are your kids doing with brushing their teeth? Dd likes to chew on her toothbrush in the morning, but she won't allow any attempt to really brush her teeth. She is very independent and doesn't want help with anything. lia1303 post about the dentist got me thinking. I can't even imagine the shit show that will be when I take dd to the dentist.
I let her do it in her own except where her lip tie is. That I do a good once over.

Like @pamom, my husband is magical. I, on the other hand, cannot do it for the life of me.
crunchymama11, i don't know how you get so much done and homeschool plus stay with the girls 24/7! I hope your play date/babysitting goes well tomorrow. Maybe dd1 will be exhausted from it and take a nap or go to bed early. Lol
I don't- I am a total slacker and procrastinator. Like I have not made my jelly yet (lol- I started spiraling on a Duggar thread on Parenting) sooooo I can either a- do it now or b- do it tomorrow. But tomorrow I was planning on making bread that I did not do today (looks like tomorrow's lunch is quesadillas) so I should get up and do it now. But DH just got home from school.
My to-do list last week and this week: - strawberry jam - freeze strawberries (16 lbs total) - applesauce- 1 batch/2 done - apple jelly - the juice is made - spring cleaning- curtains/rugs washed, master bedroom and both bathrooms scrubbed top to bottom. Still have hallway, living room, girls' rooms, kitchen - make bread - transplant more fruit trees, grapes, peppers - weed garden- 2 beds/4 done - new garden bed - plant berry bushes- planted but not mulched - mulch onions - lesson plan- mostly done - top off potato plants - freezer meals - shred 20 lbs of block cheese- doing this as I go along - freeze mashed, chopped, and shredded potatoes (30 lbs)- doing this as I go along - freeze chopped and sliced onions (20 lbs) - freeze snow peas from garden - make cilantro pesto from garden - freeze sliced apples not used after making applesauce (apples totaled 28 lbs) - make yogurt
As you can see- what I want to do and what I do is not equal. So please don't think I am one of those supermoms. I do what I can when I can but really try hard not to get toooooo stressed. This week has been hard on me though, because DD2 is cutting 2 molars and is a grumperpants 24/7. And the stress is getting to me a bit, because this IS my job, and I need and want to do it as well as I can. But I am trying to de-stress a bit and prioritize my list. The cleaning will be done last since I need to get the food preserved before it goes bad. Some of the gardening can wait a little bit but will need to be done before the cleaning.
I also always wait until the last minute to do things- I was the one writing my 12-page research paper 8 hours before it was due and literally printing it off 10 min before class. I work best under pressure

teeth brushing is the worst. DD1 *just* started letting me brush her teeth easily in the last 6 months. It was a fight every.single.freaking.time. DD2 is the same. You just gotta hold them down and do it as best you can.

Soooooooo...I did the stupid jelly. It took forever because I used my new pot, and apparently my new pot sucks. It would not come to rolling boil. I spent 50 min trying to get it to boil and thicken. I added more sugar and more pectin. I finally got fed up and moved it to a too-small little pot, and it immediately boiled, and boiled over my stove because the pot was too small. It thickened and it tastes good, but between the boiling so long and boiling over, I only got 3 jars instead of 4.
DH will be back late Thursday night, deeds1017. lia1303,B and I took Noodle to the vet yesterday. Luckily I brought my mom because when the vet pulled out the stethoscope B realized he was a doctor and started screaming. My mom took her in the lobby. He has so kind of gastrointestinal thing so just meds. He was slumping and curling over from stomach pain, not a back ache. As bad as that is, that is so much better than a bad back for a dachshund. I had already started him on stomach pills with his pain pills before I got there so I just had to cut out the pain pills and start a different stomach pill.

Declan is super excited about the concept of brushing his teeth, not so much about the actual act. Every time we are in the bathroom, he points at his tooth brush and yells teeth! Part of it is because we have an Elmo toothbrush and Elmo toothpaste and Elmo is akin to God in my house. Once we get to the actual brushing part I can usually get the back teeth a little before he just bites the brush and makes it impossible. He actually fights me on the front teeth more. It helps if I let him hold the tooth brush and then I hold his hand to do it. He hates letting me do anything. The dentist recommended laying him down and holding his head to do it, but getting him that upset and riled up before bedtime is the last thing I want to do. I will take a slightly crappy brushing job over traumatizing my kid every day with his tooth brush.
crunchymama11 just the fact that you home school 2 kids and even attempt to do all those amazing things makes you a super mom in my book.
lol thanks! But the girls eat so much and the cost of food has gone up, so my previous $300/month grocery bill was running about $350. I'm trying to cut it back down to at least $300, but preferably $250. Organic milk and eggs are so expensive and take a pretty good-sized chunk of our food budget, and DD2 isn't even drinking WCM yet (she flat out refuses). Plus we're going to start TTC #3 soon. I'm trying to buy large quantities at the lowest price point and preserve it. Like cheddar cheese was on sale for $2/lb. We go through so much cheese, so that's why I bought so much and am shredding and freezing it.
Can I just say I'm slightly stressed. I'm thinking about not sewing so much and just go with what I got except maybe a few more things.
(As I'm typing this D literally has explosive diarrhea which escapes her diaper into her new pair of light blue jean shorts. I run her to the tub and poop covered raisins fall on the floor. I'm pretty sure my dog ate 1 of them...) bath time it is!
^ that's just how my week has been going...lol Anyhow she needs 2 new bracing systems. I just want to have time to go out and enjoy this gorgeous weather

Can you just go with what you're have and take orders?
Oh BTW I tried to e-mail you back twice but it keeps getting saved as a draft. I think it looks great.
Yes I probably could go with just stock on hand but there were a few things designs of mine. I've been working on because I lost a shipment of clothes due to poor quality. I will take custom order forms as well. I just need to get at least a few different sizes for examples.

::Hugs:: explosive poops are no fun. I was going to suggest taking orders but I see deeds has that covered. Do you have anyone that could help out a little?
