stinybean I wake up on my back pretty regularly. I don't worry about it--since my body only wants to sleep 2 hours at a time (at most), I know I couldn't have been laying that way for long enough to deprive the baby of oxygen.
Plus...I just really doubt if you're still comfortable that way, that it's doing much harm in the first place.
My biggest confusion with it is that I've never been a back sleeper!
One of the girls who I'm training to cover my desk responsibilities just saw me in the bathroom and enthusiastically said, "Looking bigger every day!" She's a really nice girl and I know she intended for it to be a compliment because she followed up with something like, "Pregnancy is the only time you can say that to a woman and have it be a compliment!" It still didn't feel like a compliment. I mean geez I know it's getting bigger, I don't need other people reminding me.
I wouldn't take that specific comment personally, it doesn't bug me. But what did kind of bother me was yesterday one of the attorneys in my office said "you're starting to show now!" But...I feel like I've been showing for months, so what does that mean? That I just looked super fat for the last 5 or so months? I'm one of those women who has a really big belly (and huge boobs) compared to the rest of my body so I've been asked lots of times if I was pregnant when I wasn't. Now THOSE are the worst.
I woke up screaming in pain at 1:30am and 5:30am with leg cramps- same leg both times (my right) We're talking requiring the pillow to keep me from waking DS1 and paralysis in that leg. DH was not spared either time. (oddly his pager had just gone off the first time and he had to get up for work the 2nd time)
I am petrified it'll happen when he's not here! he was a great help with massage and then brought me a banana and some coconut water.
fatmilkisdelish my weight gain tends to be in spurts too, don't be so hard on yourself! I know plenty of women who have gained 50-60 pounds and bounced back to their trim bodies afterwards no problem. I'm not one to talk because I get really insecure sometimes, but I'm keeping really active and trying to eat a balance diet (I mean I haven't eaten french fries in almost a month lol which were my #1 weakness first tri). I'm up 30 pounds total now and really hoping to keep my gains under 1 lb/week for the rest of the pregnancy. If not, oh well. Our bodies are going to do what they do.
My crotch feels super sore past few days too and the pelvic pressure had gotten worse. Will ask my OB about it tomorrow at my regular appointment.
Baby feels a lot lower now, but seems early for 30 weeks.
I'm really feeling like a whale and super hot all the time Now.
For you and everyone else experiencing pelvic, hip and crotch pain . I finally went to physical therapy for mine and it is helping so much I almost couldn't walk or stand up because it was so bad and now I can almost function like a normal person again after only 2 sessions so far!

Had midwife appointment today and PT both went great! However I noticed an increase in discharge the other day and have just kind of brushed it off it got worse last night but went away, then completely forgot about it until this evening when TMI.... I had a gross big gob of what I can only assume is mucus plug. Gross. Now I wish I would have remembered that this was happening so I could have talked to my midwife about it. I hate feeling all SS having to call and ask silly questions.
