PikoPiko, I am right there with you. DS's ear looks like its being pushed out a little bit now. I am having lots of trouble keeping him off his head at night. He is strong enough to move away from the the position he needs to be in and he head is so heavy, tummy time is super difficult for him.
I got a $14 baby Bjorn donut pillow that I carry around and put under his head whenever he's awake or supervised napping... Then overnight he just does what he does. My little guy is a tummy time screamer so I can only stomach about 5 min a day still.

Thanks for the idea! Is that what has helped your LO's head shape improve? I am willing to try anything and everything before we get a helmet!

Maybe time? Maybe pillow? Maybe time and luck and pillow? But if I have a second kid I would use the pillow from the get go. I too am really frantic to avoid the helmet.
