What are you working on this week? So many things! I need to sew some things for my trip to Cabo next month. But I'm also trying to enter an activewear contest on Pattern Review. I'd like to make this hoodie/jacket (view A), the bombshell swimsuit (also useful for Cabo!), and the Surf to Summit top (possibly as a rashguard).
What's going well? Well, I was printing my pattern and ran out of ink, so not that! Otherwise, I haven't really started since I just finished a dress last week and just got back from out of town.
What has been challenging about the project? Running out of ink, lol. And I dislike taping together patterns.
Share a pic if you can!Pics of my plans in the links above.
And, how about a GTKY? What is your crafting space like? Bonus points for pictures! Well, it's a cluttered mess, so definitely no current pictures! These are from 2 years ago when I first moved in. I don't know why these attached upside down and I'm probably not going to fix it... sorry. But, LIME GREEN WALLS, YO! It's a good thing my husband is a residential painter, I can get whatever colors I want and he doesn't care. These pics are of the south facing wall, on the other side I have a small table set up with my sewing machines.
Quick side question: when we enter competitions, are we allowed to ask for votes? Can I make a post? Can I put it in my siggy? Can I just mention it on WIP Wednesdays, etc? Just curious, thanks!
This is my second toe up sock. (The other is sadly not a match... Still debating frogging that one.) Once I got past the cast on and the first few rows, they've gone fairly smoothly.
I'm a little nervous about the gusset increases. The first toe up sock I did came out way too big, even after I ripped it out once and restarted the gusset increases because I just couldn't figure out where I was supposed to start with it. Also, this chart is huge and a little difficult to keep track of.
Apologies if this photo comes out huge... I haven't perfected the ways of images on mobile yet.
I don't really have a craft space. My yarn stash takes up a whole cupboard in our pantry. I have my tiny fabric stash in the closet of the nursery along with all my paints, sketchbooks, sewing machine, jewelry making supplies, and patterns. My WIPs are kept in the tv cabinet. It's all scattered and one great big mess. I wish we had the real estate for a whole room in this house...

Well, right now I'm working on cloth wipes, a crochet baby tshirt, and the matching hat to that aviator jacket. I suppose it's all going well, my depression just attacks and stops me from crafting for a few days. The challenege has been staying awake to do them lol!
I live in an extended stay so my workspace is just a little desk or sometimes my bed.
jsonya we're on the same page - I was going to ask for photos of craft spaces today!
I just finished up an invitation for a friend, so I've got to get those printed and shipped out to her, along with the party banner and antennae I made for DD's party (we had a busy bees party, and my friend is doing the same). Nice to get that stuff OUT!
Another project is getting my craft room put back together after throwing everything in there that I needed to hide for her party - it's hard to be inspired when your room is a wreck!
And I need to get Valentine's day things out and made, if I'm doing anything new. I probably should do a wreath, but I don't know what type I want to do.
I am working to get the components together for a super hero cake...I have superman, batman and spiderman finished. So far, things have been going ok, but it's never over until the cake is delivered!
(hoping pictures work) My workplace is my kitchen, so not much worth seeing.
I'm knitting a hat for DD- Capucine with some variations- should be done tonight unless I decide to embroider it or line it or something. It's not a very complicated pattern at all, so no challenges- I'm liking the way the yarn (I dyed) is knitting up.
I officially have a craft room, and I've taken over half the garage with my power tools, wood and kiln/clay stuff- and I have little pockets of projects everywhere- it's not pretty.
Here are two of the 5 rag dolls I made for DD last week- I made one and the rest just flew off the machine. The little one is "Tag-a-long" and the bigger one is "Patchwork Penny", both are in Hillary Lang's Wee Wonderfuls book (a great one for modern soft toys). I made DD a Tag-a-long three years ago when she was 2yo, and DD has just loved her to bits, and decided she needed a friend. Now she has a bunch.
What are you working on this week? I started making a cowl last night that I'm going to frog tonight. It's too wide. And the never ending prayer shawl. What's going well? Nope. Frogging. What has been challenging about the project? I made it way too wide. Share a pic if you can!
And, how about a GTKY? What is your crafting space like? Bonus points for pictures! My yarn is in storage bins behind the couch. I would love to display it but the cats and all. My sewing stuff is in one corner of the basement and I have to carry it up to the kitchen table every time I use it.
What are you working on this week? The first of two more baby sweaters, this one with a dachshund on it. (I posted the link to the pattern in one of the other threads, it's the Willie sweater on Ravelry.) I'm also doing the Follow Your Arrow 2 knitalong, but I finished the first clue on Monday, so now I have to wait for the next one!
What's going well? The baby sweaters are made with thick yarn, so it's going pretty quickly.
What has been challenging about the project? I haven't done intarsia in ages, so I have to pay attention to keep the stitches even and make sure there aren't any holes between colors.
And, how about a GTKY? What is your crafting space like? Bonus points for pictures! I just knit/crochet on the couch and keep my bag of equipment and my project bag next to me.

For those who jumped from the other site, this is LilMrsLay restarted as my online craft name, craftcrazymama.
What are you working on this week? I've been working on an HST quilt, and a knitted blanket.
What's going well? The blanket is a really easy pattern so great for working on while watching a bit of TVS when I can't be bothered doing much else.
What has been challenging about the project? Both projects are challenging me a bit. I'm not convinced about my HSTS quilt layout so might rehash that. And the blanket was meant to be for a friend who has had her circumstances change so it feels a bit odd continuing with it.
What is your crafting space like? I have a large room in our house for my crafting space. I'm very lucky! I have everything set up and lots of storage but it still seems to end up a mess somehow. I also have a couch and a big door to outside so its a really nice spot for me. It's definitely my chill out zone. Only thing I want more of right now is cutting space, and more organisation of certain items.

What are you working on this week? I have a huge pile of fabric for all my upcoming nursery projects, and I'm working on cutting everything. I hate cutting fabric, so I tend to do it all at once instead of project by project. I also volunteer with a group that makes items for preemies at our local hospitals, and I have a stack of Easter stuff I'm supposed to make before February.
What's going well? The quilt top to the baby blanket I'm making is shaping up well. I'm excited that I was actually able to find some fabrics that work well together. I'm usually not very good at that.
What has been challenging about the project? The baby blanket will be a challenge because I've never make this style blanket with a quilt top before. Usually I make them with a solid piece of fabric.
And, how about a GTKY? What is your crafting space like? Bonus points for pictures! No dedicated crafting space. I move around between the living room and dining room table.
What are you working on this week? I had a random idea for the shop for Valentine's day, a Doctor Who Valentine. What's going well? Turned out great! Now I just have to get all the photos done and get it listed (along with 6 dolls and a new diy digital product) What has been challenging about the project? Just too many things and too little time! Share a pic if you can!

its just a couple of plastic containers that I pack away from small hands. I hope to help fund a space through my shop sales this year!

What are you working on this week? Tonight I'm going to be cutting fabric for a pair of Maxaloones, 2 pair of leggings, and a few headbands that match. I also hate cutting fabric. It's my least favorite part. I wish I could hire some elves to do that for me while I sleep.
What's going well? I'm in the process of stocking my Etsy store so I can officially open it.
What has been challenging about the project? I'm still waiting on the damn labels to come in so I can actually finish the waistbands. I hate writing listing descriptions. I also need elves to do that for me.
Maxaloones on the left. Leggings on the right. I'm not a fan of pink camo at all, but they will sell locally. I'm trying to get rid of it as fast as I can.
This is my brand new sewing room. I absolutely love it except that it is right next to DD's room, but most of the time she sleeps like a rock, so it hasn't been too bad.
I need to finish the binding on my daughter's birthday quilt.
I'm also finishing up a Ship in a Bottle embroidery piece as a gift for my dad.
I need to make a mini quilt for a craft swap.
What's going well? My baby has actually taken a few short naps recently (instead of not napping at all - ever), so I've been able to get some crafting done during the day. Unfortunately, I probably should have been cleaning the house during naps instead. We have family visiting/staying with us this weekend, and my house is a mess.
What has been challenging about the project? Not enough time. Always. Also, I am always working on too many projects at once.
What is your crafting space like? A total mess. I have stuff all over the house. I usually have a smaller, more portable project (like embroidery) stashed on the table by the couch, and I have sewing stuff spread out over our dining room table. I never take pictures because it's too embarrassing.
Question: Is there a way to add a picture into your post without having to host it somewhere else online (so it has a url)? - Thanks BJ Dealer!

Instead of using quick reply, click the "reply" button. Then you can click Add Attachment just above the box!

What are you working on this week? : Alcove What's going well? I haven't thrown it down yet? What has been challenging about the project? : THE ENDLESS GARTER STITCH.
GTKY: I have no real crafty space; no room for a dedicated room. So since I'm on vacation, that's what it is now... the photo in the Rav link was done on the hotel balcony.

No pics of my space, because it's a DISASTER.
Do you have a store?
I do - but it's been on vacation mode since the summer. I also didn't list the invitations and stuff I did there - it was on an as requested basis from my friends.

Aww boo. I was looking for someone to make invitations for my wedding at the end of the year and none of the ones on Etsy fit what I had in mind.

What type are you looking for?
I want them to be Beauty and the Beast-esque without having Belle or Beast on the card. What I have in mind is more like the invitation on the back of the magic mirror, ya know?
All the ones I've seen on Etsy have been too...child-ish?

So are they just a flat invitation? I can always draft something up for you if you'd like - no commitment to them either, promise

Yes and that would be wonderful. I will love you forever
I finally got to blocking all three of my Sunnysides (the adult version and two baby versions). It's such a great pattern and I'd recommend either version to anyone. I might even make the lace version one day.
This is my first attempt at attaching a picture, I hope it works!
What are you working on this week? Baby shower gifts. Currently trying to finish a dress. What's going well? Well the receiving blankets went really quick so that was nice! What has been challenging about the project? This dress. the instructions aren't the best so I am just hoping it turns out okay. Share a pic if you can!
And, how about a GTKY? What is your crafting space like? Bonus points for pictures! My sewing area is at the back of my daughter's play room. I like it, but it is rather cramped.

What are you working on this week? Just finished my first project so I'm deciding what new thing to start this weekend. What's going well? So far figuring out my sewing machine has been fairly easy. What has been challenging about the project? The most challenging thing so far has been learning how to keep my seams even.
My current craft space doubles as my office desk. Wish I had a room dedicated to crafting. nutmegs I'm so envious of that beautiful room!
