That's funny! I almost asked if you were from Alberta andtheheartbreakers . When you said dating ultrasounds were standard I thought "She must be in Alberta. Alberta's got the cash for that sort of care." I am always interested in regional differences. Whenever I did work for Albertans it was great because they always had the budgets to make shit happen.

No way! Yea Alberta is kind of it's own little bubble. My husband is from NW Ontario, and his family is always lecturing us on how we can't afford things (like a baby, they asked us if this was an oops because there's no way we make enough money at "our age"). No matter how much we tell them, they just can't wrap their head around the way it is out here!

I had the same problem with my mother when it came to buying houses. She was going off about how irresponsible it was for people my age to be spending $300,000 on their first homes, racking up all that debt. Right... because homes in Nowhere, Maritimes are exactly the same price as homes in actual cities. But it is cool you are in Alberta. I haven't been in a loooong time, but I remember it being lovely. The lack of humidity did give me nose bleeds, though... you can practically drink the air out here in the summertime.

Housing prices aside, everytime I go "home" I am shocked at how many things are cheaper in AB than they are in the major Ontario city I live in. Gas, alcohol, groceries, restaurants. It's so unfair. Why did I ever leave...

So Cal. Though I spent most of my childhood in Toronto, and that's where my family moved back to (I'm the only one left here). Toronto is home in my heart, and I plan to move back next year
