I never posted on the SAHM board on TB. I have a 3 year old daughter and a 10 month old son. Some days I enjoy being home, some days I want to run away and join the circus because it would be a lot more peaceful than the chaos in my house.
The TB SAHMs took over Drinking While Parenting over on GBCN; so, there's that if anyone's interested. I think I'll hang around these parts though, maybe post, maybe not as much, but HI!
Oh alright. I didn't realize there is a whole other forum. Still new to PB.
Yea I'm still navigating around these too; I think I'll stick to this one though because of the boards that are on here. ::shrug::
I was never on the SAHM board on TB but I'm game to try this out. I'm expecting my first in April and I'll be SAHM by virtue of being pretty much unemployed. I do some freelancing from home but I imagine I'll be a SAHM until this and subsequent kiddos are in preschool.
I didn't even know TB had a SAHM board, really. I figured they did, but I do most of my forum time on mobile, and TB logged me out any time I changed boards. It was super annoying.
So, I SAHM with 3 kids, homeschool, and actually work a bit from home, too. But I'm a freelance editor, and the company I work for hasn't been very good at getting me work.
My biggest question for all SAHMs is WHERE DO YOU FIND TIME? I cannot seem to stay caught up on laundry or dishes. It's an either or on this house, and sometimes neither! :/
I really don't. I'm always drowning in laundry, and there are only 3 of us. Certain things I try to get to every day, like dishes, but there are some days when I only do the essentials if it's a busy one and let the rest wait until the next day. It's worse when we're on sick plan and are doing treatments every 4 hrs. for a half hour at a time.
Whelp, I might as well get to know you fine ladies. I'm a SAHM (my work was a joke this past year, but I got paid for it). #1 C (girl), is 16 months old and well into toddlerhood; send drinks. And #2 L (boy), just arrived a little over 2 weeks ago! We're done with babies.
I see some familiar SN. I posted on TB's SAHM and currently post on DWP. I'll jump in here too. I have 6 and 4 year old girls and my little boy is almost 2.

I made a weekly to do list with a few items on each day. Some days I get all of them done and work on "other day" tasks and some days I struggle to do one thing. I find I am much more productive when I have the list then when I don't.
Edit: I put things like laundry, vacuum, etc on the list too- not just errand or odd end type things.
Definitely make a list! Lists really help me and they make me feel like I actually accomplished something.
Daily chores are dishes, picking up living areas, cleaning the stove, kitchen countertops, cat box and making sure the pets are fed. Plus, whatever errands need to be done that day.
Then I have weekly chores like laundry, wash bedding, dusting whole house, vacuuming etc. the weekly chores I break up during the week and just do what I can each day. I get most done during nap time and after everyone goes to bed.
Main thing I've learned is that whatever you don't get done one day, will be there the next lol. Luckily, dh helps a lot where he sees chores I haven't gotten to.

Hi! I lurked the old SAHM board before everyone left but then it died. I am happy to see a new place. I have a wonderful little boy who will be 5 months on the 28th.

I manage to find time, but then I don't homeschool and only have one child! I still find myself doing laundry every day - and I don't bother folding the toddler clothes. On the other hand, I grew up without a dishwasher and have good memories of talking to my dad while we were drying dishes and telling him all the stuff I was studying for my high school exams. Can you possibly combine some home school activities with doing housework?
P.S. I think being an editor is really cool. Would you mind sharing how you got into freelance work?

I changed my sn when I moved over, but I wasn't super active anyway so it doesn't matter. I actually like this interface way better, so hopefully I'll be more active now. I'm a SAHM to a nearly two year old boy, and got a bfp this morning for #2!!

I didn't participate on TB, no kids yet, but we are expecting our first to make her appearance sometime in the next few weeks! I'm due 2/7. I always planned on being a SAHM but everything started early when I was put on bed rest 8 weeks ago. I had to quit my job. So anyway! I don't know how active I'll be here but thought I'd say hello!

trichie5 The tag worked. Part time editing sounds like something I'd enjoy. I'll keep it in mind for the future; right now I am a legal alien, but cannot legally earn money.
I appreciate decently edited e-books, some can be pretty awful to read if they forget to add paragraphs or do not even run a spell check.

trichie5 I meant plot, and did not even think of the possibilties of odd grammar. (Including my own here, I had a glass of wine for dinner and am very much a lightweight these days.)
My home board is the CD board but I'm a SAHM! DS is 16 monnths and DD will be here at the beginning of May.
I have a super strict daily schedule I follow to keep up on chores. I do push it to the wayside though when things get crazy and will just focus on making sure dishes are done daily and there is a load of laundry going a day. Doing those two things definitely helps from everything getting out of control.
