Whenever someone brings up being vegan or vegetarian the scene from "My Big fat Greek Wedding" comes to my head ( you don't eat meat?! You don't eat meat?!, oh that's ok I make lamb) lol sorry. I don't see why other people should care though, it's your choice about what you do eat.
Another FFFC for me: I'm an Organic snob. I love all things Organic.
I was a vegetarian for about 3 years (until I was craving meat when I was pregnant with LO). DH and I went to his sister's for New Year's and she made some soup with a bunch of meat in it (all that's coming to mind is menudo but that's not it). DH tells her I can't have any because I some eat meat, she offers me chicken taquitos (sp?). Thanks, but that's still meat lol.

Lol. But chicken isn't meat?! It's chicken!
Yep, that's exactly what she told me. It took real effort not to judt bust out laughing.
I guess I should invest in an Ergo. All I have is the k'tan carrier and its a bit tricky. Would an ergo be too hot for summer or is it lightweight enough?
The classic Ergo is not very lightweight, but they do make a sport version. There's also a carrier called Bitybean that is very lightweight (and waterproof), and also a soft structured carrier, for half the price!
I have the Ergo sport because I live in hell--I mean South GA--and there's no way I could use a regular Ergo during the summer. The sport is pretty light so I think I'll be able to use it during part of the warmer months. Although, unless I find a carrier that is made entirely out of cool packs, there's going to be some point during the summer where its just going to be too hot to baby wear.
I'm excited for this planking challenge! It's still happening right? Did I miss the fit Friday thread? I'd send you all a before pic of my abs but I'm still not sure if they exist or not...
In response to the vegan/vegetarian talk, I hate having people ask me if I plan to raise LO as vegetarian. Well she'll eat whatever I make. I'm not going to buy a chicken breast for her to take one bite. But if we are at grandma's and she wants a bite of grandma's chicken, I'm not going to say no.

I'm afraid to do it. I don't know if I have the ab thing (my autocorrect won't spell it for me)
Re plank challenge: maybe we could do a modification where those with the ab thing do that exercise and those who do not do the plank challenge.
Re veganism: I admit that I do side eye some who are vegan and just eat the highly processed faux dairy products. That faux cheese is disgusting.
I understand being suspicious of food you haven't eaten before or food that is highly processed. However, vegans do not hold the monopoly on processed food. There's tons of processed animal foods out there. I hope you side eye those too.

Eh, I am not a perfect eater and have had my fair share of processed food. I guess my issue is more how the products are marketed as being healthy because they are vegan, but its basically chemicals. And yes, I have tried the faux cheese when eating with a vegan friend and I was not a fan. ETA: I totally agree that processed food is not unique to vegans and didnt mean to imply that. Its the "healthier" argument of such substitutes that gets me.
Had my tubes tied today. My mom watched lo for the first time (they flew in Wednesday). I'm a little sore, but totally could have gotten up earlier. DH will have baby duty tonight and early am whether I can handle it or not. Yup I will be milking this since dh will milk his for sure when he has his done in the near future

Hope you recover quickly! I was only sore for about a day and a half
Ok, I have a new FFFC personal best: Tonight was LOs bath night but DH was able to leave work early so we strapped her in the Ergo and took a date night at happy hour at our favorite local restaurant instead. She's passed out on me now covered in rice cereal but I have two glasses of rose in my belly and no regrets!!
DH is a cookie monster. Whenever I make cookies I have to portion some for myself and stick them in the freezer or I won't get any. He'll eat them all within a few days, he especially likes them for breakfast. That makes it really hard for me to tell DS no cookies for breakfast because it doesnt mater how many times I tell DH that cookies are not for breakfast he just keeps eating them.
So, my FFFC is that since making lactation cookies (and having a week where my supply dropped) I eat cookies almost every morning, and I don't even try to hide it. Hey, it's for the boob juice.
I finally remembered mine that I thought of on Monday! Basically this is a Monday bitchfest, WTF Wednesday, UO Thursday (not around here, but the general population), and a FFFC !
STAAAP putting your infant carrier in the top of the shopping cart! Just because it fits doesn't mean it should go there. I can think of a few examples of things that fit but shouldn't necessarily go there. Not only is it a fall hazard, but how the eff do you see over that thing to steer?! Maybe that's just me... I'm short. Come on, though! People look at me like I'm stupid when I put the carrier in the big part of the cart.
The confession? I wish it were acceptable to go up to these people and tell them it's unsafe, but I'm too much of a whimp and hate confrontations.
When DS was a baby (11 years ago) it was the norm and I had no idea it was a bad thing. This time around I know better and I always put her in the big part too. I think I would have responded ok to someone telling me it was bad to do (but idk, maybe I would have told that person to mind their own business).
That far back it was acceptable. Hell even two years ago when I had DD1 it was common. I think WalMart has special carts were you strap the seat in. Plus DD1 plus seat were never heavy enough to flip those heavier than me carts. She was out of it by 6 months anyway. I personally wear DD2 and cannot see over her seat (whooping 5'4" ) but regardless I don't judge I just shop.

I put my oldest on the top 8 yrs ago. I wouldn't call it judging other moms necessarily, more wondering if they know that it is unsafe? I know when my oldest was a baby it didn't even cross my mind it was unsafe. I'm sure a lot of moms are in the same thought process I was.

When my DD1 was little so about 8 years ago it was in the news. I remember they mentioned people leaving baby and cart to grab something and the whole thing toppling over with baby inside. Also bumbo seats were recalled at that time because some people would place them on a table or high surface and walk away. I think there's a lot of common sense missing. I would only judge or say something if the person with the seat in the top part of the cart let go of the cart. Though for the Bumbo seats - never ever place it on anything other than the floor.

As long as infant car seat carriers have been placed on carts it's been dangerous. I just don't think people realize it is. I still se a lot of people put the carriers on the top part. It's pretty common. At the same time if a cart topples you probably won't be able to stop it whether you have both hands on it or not. Ykwim? My middle toppled a cart on top of himself when he was standing on the side. Once it started going over I wasn't strong enough to catch it. And I think if anyone has their cart on the top and are shopping at one point they are going to take their hands off because they are shopping. Anyways like I said I don't think it's a "judging" thing. More concerned for the safety of the child.
