It's way too early to be thinking names, but I'm anxiously waiting to hear what Kate and William named their baby girl. Apparently my top choices are also rumoured to be theirs. I'm probably going to cross whatever they choose off the list.
Me too! She had Prince George shortly after I had DD #2, and the rumored girls name was the one we used. I'm so interested in what they pick!
I totally craved lunch meat with my last 2 pregnancies. Maybe it was because I was told not to eat it.
Same. I always wanted a turkey Moe's - local sub shop. I had one every month or two. I wasn't super concerned about the freshness of their stuff and I don't think I've even heard any of the listeria cases being linked to deli meats in recent years. My OB actually told me I could have it, just to avoid things with high sodium and nitrates for other reasons.
With my first I had Subway probably 3 times a week!
+1. Plus I ate steak, not well done (I'd rather eat dirt than a hunk of char they call steak), and pretty much everything "they" say not to. Except alcohol, and stuff I wouldn't eat anyway, like sushi and soft cheese.
Right. Now I'm having pretzels for breakfast, and later I'm going to a craft fair with my mom. It should be fun, even though I'm broke.

Most soft cheeses in the U.S. (and I would guess Canada too) are pasteurized anyway. You just need I be careful of local farm to table kind of stuff and imported. I love Brie and goat cheese. I won't eat them out if I don't know the source, but I buy for myself at home all the time.

That's true. I just know that a lot of people male a big deal about it. I'm a picky eater, so if I followed the "rules" I'd be SOL for 9 months. I even had a friend tell me I shouldn't eat hot dogs yesterday. I told him, I eat what I want. Which at the moment is nothing ugh. Nothing sounds appetizing.
My approach on the whole food while pregnant stuff is pretty laid back. No alcohol. Watch for mercury. I eat lunch meat, all the cheese, sushi, some caffeine. My doc was telling me that he and all the docs at his practice were talking and not one of them had ever had a patient who got listeria.
Anyone else watch Game of Thrones? I just had H order us pizza and we'll be watching tonight.
We'll be watching last week's episode after dinner. My mom is making spaghetti, which isn't my favorite, but it actually sounds really good right now. I'm in a horrible mood today.

We watch it but we haven't started this season yet!! I feel like in a couple of weeks we'll have a binge night and watch all the episodes together . Right now we're really into Friday Night Lights on Netflix, I've never seen any of it so H started watching it over with me! So good!

Boo I'm sorry you're in a bad mood, I hope it gets better. I've been craving spaghetti but I'm still trying to keep my carbs down and the pizza tonight is a real treat.

We binged watched the entire 4 seasons of GOT even though we had already seen them, as refresher for the new season. I'll have to check out Friday night lights I never saw any of it.

I doubt it will. S is being a brat, and neither of us had enough sleep, so I'm getting extremely frustrated. Maybe if he sleeps better tomorrow we'll both be in better moods
Has anyone started looking at stuff for the baby? There's this Hello Kitty gear set that I'm totally buying if we're having a girl.
I just started making a list of things I want to buy/trade up on for #2. I freaking love buying shit, so I have to keep myself under control.
If it's another girl we won't need much. A few new things would be nice, basics here and there. If it's a boy, I'll need clothes and some "boy" stuff like swaddles and a few new diapers (I do cloth).
We did all of the big stuff gender neutral, so really it's just little things that in this house are ALL pink. Also things like my stroller that I don't love, I want to sell and get a better one...probably double anyway, so that's on the list.

I was going to wait, but I basically have an entire nautical nursery planned on pinterest at this point. Boy or girl will not make a difference in the color scheme. There's lots of time though so everything can change. I'm not going to buy anything for quite awhile.

That sounds about what I will do when we have another. I'm not planning on getting rid of anything from this baby lol
Do you like the cloth diapering?
I do but we take breaks sometimes. In general we prefer it but I'm busy and keeping up with the laundry doesn't always happen. I do the lazy version with mostly AIOs and we use sposies at night. I used to do more but work being busy, and other issues made it tough at times, so I just do what works for us now.

If we have a girl, we will need nothing. The grandmas spoiled DD big time and I have so many tubs filled with clothes. If we have a boy, we need all new clothes since we have no gender neutral clothing.
I would like to get a Tula and a video monitor. We have a regular monitor now, but there are so many times she's fussing or making noises and I'd like to peak on her. There have been times when I've tried to sneak in her room to check on her, only to wake her up. That's the worst.

I'm thinking we'll do cloth too! I have done a bijilion hours of research on it already and I'm thinking we would do mostly pockets. Did you register for diapers with DD?
I want to sell the 4! Strollers I have, and buy the 1 that I really want and will serve all my needs! I wish I had invested in a better stroller in the beginning!

I did register for some but people didn't really buy them. I did not register for disposables and no one gave them to me either! I guess rye got the memo seeing cloth on the registry. We did need some sposies in the beginning because the NB cloth we had rubbed her cord stump, and she had a few rashes but I actually loved cloth even more in the beginning because it all just went in the wash!

Yes! Seems like the beginning is the easiest time, I'm hoping to start right away with a lvariety of newborn types/brands (including some prefolds/covers, fitteds, and AIOs) and then go to OS pockets after the newborn stage. I definitely have sparkles in my eyes about cloth diapering right now. It all seems so adorable and magical and SO suits my shopping addiction. But obviously it's not all rainbows and unicorns so I will start out by thinking I'll do it as much as I can and go easy on myself in the times that it doesn't work.
That's interesting about the registry - I can see no one feeling comfortable to buy them for us either. BUT I feel like I'll buy them slowly throughout my pregnancy so that we won't feel a huge hit to our bank account all at once!

That's what I did. I bought a bunch used from BST groups and stuff too. I bought a few different kinds to try then sold some and bought more of what I liked.
ETA: Just FYI ... Stuffing pockets gets old fast...really fast. I still have some but they are the last to get used every rotation because...stuffing pockets. But I'm busy and lazy and MH does not help with laundry so... I guess take that with a grain of salt. I like my AIOs.
We won't be buying anything probably until we know the sex. The only big thing we really need is a bouncer, we still have the swing from S (it folds so it's not as annoying to store as the bouncer was). I plan to buy more Flips dipes, cuz I'm pretty sure I ruined our last set, and either way we need clothes. I gave S's baby clothes away, and even if I hadn't, we'd need different sizes than what he was for the seasons.
ETA: holy typos! Sorry. Trying to post on my phone, with too much sun. Couldn't see the screen.

I really want to cloth diaper, but we're unsure if we're going to go the daycare or nanny route when I go back to work, so I'm not sure if we go with a daycare they will be ok with cloth diapering. My sister just had a baby in December, so I hope there are things she will give us or let us borrow (she swears this is her last one). If it's a girl, then we can take clothes from her as well. I won't start buying until later on. We're still undecided if we will find out or not.

DH and I decided today that we would start evaluating our baby gear that's been hiding in the basement for years. We'll see what needs to be upgraded (or what I just want to buy again!). We did gender neutral for the big stuff as well, and I kept all of DS' clothes. If #2 is a girl, I'll need probably cave and buy more clothes than I'll need.
