I'm drinking so much water right now in the misguided hope that I can prevent bloat. I already have to pee all the time. I cannot imagine the third trimester. I guess I'll just move my desk to the bathroom.

GKU girls: when did you stop temping? The day you got your BFP? I find that I've temped the past two days and don't know how to stop- ADDICTION. Lol

I stopped the day I got my BFP.  I was so glad to be done temping.

I was the opposite. My OB was male, but a woman was on call when S was born.

I guess the practice I go to is unusual, your doctor delivers you unless they're out of town...when I was in labor with number 2 he had a female colleague stop by bc she was with one of her patients, she put an internal contraction monitor in, but he still delivered.

Me too I drank 60 oz so far today, and I'm still really bloated.  My desk is on the opposite side of the floor from the restrooms, it really sucks.  My first request when I tell my boss it to move me directly to the restroom...

I thought that was how it was supposed to work. But I guess (here at least) that's only if you're high risk, or likely to need interventions, or someone with more knowledge of your background.

My ob/gyn is part of a group I think I move over to him at 12 weeks after being with myRE. My doctor is part of a group I will mainly see my doctor but will visit with each of the doctors and midwives during the pregnancy, who ever is on call when I go into labor delivers the baby.

I just watched the season finale of greys anatomy and ugly cried the whole time. I think my emotions are getting to me :/

Just read all the posts.
1. I had the same question about temping after BFP. From what I could find, it is more varied and has the potential to stress you out.

2. This weekend I am going to Germany for work, then staying for the Canadian long weekend. I am going to be at the height of morning sickness whilst travelling with my boss.

3. My PVR didn't record Greys Anatomy, so I'm bummed about that.


4. I've had a male doctor my whole life so maybe I don't know what I'm missing, but I bet it would be pretty sexist for a male patient to only want to be treated by a male doctor.
5. I wouldn't want to share my Popsicle either.

No guy other than H has ever seen me naked and he wants it to stay that way, and I'm also just really uncomfortable with male doctors. I think I'll switch to standard if they put me with a guy, and that way I'll be able to pick anyone who accepts tricare. 

Unless you pick an all-female practice, you will have to see other docs in the practice at some point throughout your pregnancy and you have no control over who delivers you. You get who is on call.

I get where you're coming from, because I felt strongly about female docs too in the past, but you could also have male nurses, or who knows... just something to think about.

This. When I went in to have DS, the dr had students with him as well. He was like, "do you mind if one of my students puts in your catheter?....." Labor = control is gone!

@iliketurtles I remembered something about insurance last night. I'm assuming you have tricare prime. HMOs treat obstetrics differently than other specialties. Typically you don't need a referral through your insurance company to see an OB. If the only reason you are thinking about changing your insurance is because of the referral process, you might want to check and make sure that you actually need to.
