I'm in black and green today. I hate being "proper" for work. why cant I wear jeans and a sloth t-short too??
I'm avoiding a 3 year old birthday party this weekend. I cant take the many many kids and 2+ pregnant girls. I love them all, but in a pack I might have a breakdown. I'm settling for drinking at home with my MIL.

Good Morning everyone! +1 for blue shirt club. Light blue with coral polka dots, I love summer colors.
I love the Tapatalk update. I found the app really annoying to use before, but the update makes it so much easier and less time consuming to open and read threads. I used to only post from my desktop when I'm at work, but now I think I will be posting more!
Also my shirt is pink/orange/black/cream (stripes), I've got gray yogapants on and a purple sweatshirt. My 18 month old and the 7 month old I watch don't care.
I have been awake for almost an hour... DH is still in bed. For some reason he has an an alarm set for 8:15 in the morning. For the last few days he has just let it go off and I end up having to walk back into the bedroom and turn it off because he won't get up to do it. It's been going off for 15 minutes now, I just went and shut the bedroom door so I wouldn't have to hear it. I refuse to turn it off though because he needs to get his lazy butt out of bed. Also, if he's not going to get up with the alarm he needs to turn this thing off so it stops beeping every morning.

I'm so disappointed. My SIL isn't bringing my niece to visit this weekend. We both forgot it was Mother's day on Sunday. We will reschedule for later in the month.
It doesn't look like we are going to get the boys. In the foster care system, there is a lot of unknown when it comes to getting a child. The goal really is to get them placed quickly, so some of the information is not passed down that would stop a potential placement.
Our worker found out that the 3 year old has already had to be moved from 3 daycare centers because of behavior. She doesn't want to set us up with a situation that we cannot handle, because she knows that she won't have many chances. B has stated very clearly that we will not have a revolving door of kids, even though I would take in all the kids!
I thought that I was going to be heartbroken if it didn't work out with these boys, but, I am not. I am sad, but if it isn't the best for them and us, then I am okay with it. They are looking to send them to a specialized home that has some additional training.
One less thing that I have to worry about while we are on vacation!
I have so much grading to do today, and a trip to school to talk to a student about plagiarism. I don't understand how this happens every semester, no matter how many times we talk about it. This paper would be a B, except she stole a plot summary from sparknotes. What is the point of that?

I know you're not heartbroken, but I'm still sorry.

Hugs shemarie82 ... I am glad that your worker is looking out for you and trying to find you the best placement for your family. Also, I hope you have a great time on your trip!

shemarie82 Its probably for the best. They will need a home with a bit more specialised care and when you are just starting this journey, you might not be the best fit for eachother. Hopefully another child/siblings are placed with you soon. (hugs)

Lol. I always set one alarm too early. It's almost like a "woman, you hear this? You got 30 min."
Yea... I set multiple alarms most mornings because I worry about getting up on time.

I'm sorry you're going through the roller coaster here, but it is such a great thing you are trying to do. Glad you aren't heartbroken, and I hope the boys get placed somewhere that is best for them soon.
shemarie82, what a roller coaster! I wish I had the right words. I'm glad you're being positive about it. I hope that little guy gets the help he needs.
I have heard many people talk about how it is a roller coaster, I didn't realize how quickly things can change! Yesterday, I was going to use my raise for car seats, today it is going toward margaritas.
shemarie82 Sorry to hear about the boys! I am glad though that you have a case worker who is wise about deciding to place kids appropriately! I am sure this takes the stress off of your trip!! Now you are just ready for next time

Exactly! We know that we have to have a dry well filled in before we get licensed, so we now have some additional time to get that taken care of, rather than rushing this week to make it happen. Plus, B and I have had some serious discussions about what we are looking for, so we will be ready for the next time!
