Another friend just confessed to me that their marriage is spiraling toward an end. That's three in less than a year.
I know it has nothing to do with me, but it is so depressing. My heart breaks for my friends, but the whole state of marriage thing is so saddening to me.
Ho-ly shit. May I ask if these people have all been married for around the same time? So far I have yet to watch anyone whose wedding I attended get a divorce, but most haven't been married all that long...
ETA: I see you said some of them already have kids.
One of our best friends was married 3 years, had two kids and is now divorced. His ex wife is already remarried and had a new baby. She was married less than a year after the divorce.
I may have over compensated chugging my coke. I have to pee now. But I'm afraid once I get there I won't have to. Why are drug tests so stressful??
Whenever there is an accident/incident at work, I warn the employees that they will have to pee in a cup once we get to the Walk-In clinic. They generally drink water then have to wait 37 hours to be seen. I should stop warning them, it makes me feel a little bad.

I know I've been TTC too long because my first thought was wow, 3 kids in about 5 years? WOW!

The first two are only a year apart. Apparently some people can get KU with no problem.
I would also like to add the new kid is named after an anime character. Minato I think.
I just bought another course from The Great Courses.
This one is different medical cases and how doctors figured out what was wrong. It's like Mystery Diagnosis!
It's called "Grand Rounds." I've often wanted to go to Grand Rounds at the medical school here. I went sometimes at Brigham and Women's in Boston when I worked up there and loved it. I love this crap.

I was the subject of Grand Rounds once. It's not a fun experience.

Oh no!! I'm sorry :-(
I imagine it's what zoo animals feel like. Person after person after person comes in and looks at you and pokes you and then leaves. They never really talk to you like you're a person, you're just a subject.

Wait... hmm.
Grand Rounds is a weekly presentation about a particular subject to the rest of the medical community. I've been to them about recent diabetes research or current drug trends in obesity. They aren't when a series of doctors come in to see a patient. Those are just "rounds."

Hmm I don't know. It says grand rounds in my medical history file. My bad! Carry on :-)

Interesting.
This course is a series of those weekly presentations about particular medical cases or trends in medicine. It's those presentations that I'd like to attend at the medical school here if I could. The main Grand Rounds is usually open to the public; more specialized ones are just for certain disciplines within medicine.
Where's RajahMD? Maybe she call tell us what happened to you and distinguish between the names. I agree that what you had sounds sad, though. Could you have refused all those doctors?
My husband was admitted to the neurology unit of a teaching hospital several years ago. The head neurologist brought in his team of fifteen students one morning to do rounds with him. He asked if it was okay or if we wanted to do it privately. My husband said "the more, the merrier!" But, we were definitely asked first.

I'm sure my parents were asked. I was 12 so I don't know. We have a very large teaching hospital in the city here. And I was a sick kid with no diagnosis so I spent 8 hours in an exam room while doctors, med students, etc came to look at me and come up with some ideas of what was wrong with me.

Ahhhh. What was wrong with you, if I may ask? You don't have to tell me.

Still unknown...I went from being tested for leukemia to morphea to lupus. I lost 30 pounds in a summer (not good for a kid). I was covered in bruise like patches that had my teachers asking if everything was ok at home and my legs and hands hurt so bad I couldn't walk without crying and couldn't hold a pencil at school. They pumped me full of anti-inflammatories and immunosuppressants and after a few months my symptoms went away. The diagnosis ended on lupus but to this day I'm not fully convinced. It's been 10 years since I've had any symptoms at all.
