Well my favorite children's book is "Very Hungry Caterpillar" but I don't know if there are any good quotes in there. It's just about eating a lot of food, which I can relate to.
All my favorite quotes come from the Harry Potter books, which aren't exactly "children's" books.

Harry Potter still has some excellent inspirational quotes.

@ismellbooks, does the 1yo have any favorite books yet? I mean, I know she's not reading them, but does she have any that she wants to open again and again?
"On Saturday, he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon

I have this really old Bunny story called Grandpa Lop. I loved it so much when I was little. Its still in really good shape and will definitely be the first book in the nursery (whenever that happens)
MIL decided to leave a few items of furniture with us for the babies room. a night stand and bookshelf. in the exact wood tones I want for the room. I love her soooo much. So grateful. theres a few $ I wont have to spend when the time comes.

The Little Prince has so many quotable quotes! We have this one framed in DS' room: "All grown-ups were children first (But few of them remember it)." Our picture has both the English/French translations. The Little Prince also has gems like:
“It is only with the heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”
“Well, I must endure the presence of a few caterpillars if I wish to become acquainted with the butterflies.”
“If you come at four in the afternoon, I'll begin to be happy by three.”
Her room is all done up in baby woodland creatures. Maybe I'll find a line from The Velveteen Rabbit; that one was always my favorite. She's clearly still too young for the story though. Whatever I do, I want to get a copy of the book to go with the painting.
I plan on doing a woodland creature nursery too! If I ever get KU, that is.

"As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen" "Some people care too much, I think it's called love" "You must always believe you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think"

My favorite children's book is Bony Legs. It's an old folk tale about a witch with iron teeth, who lives in a house that stands on chicken feet, and eats children.
My favorite children's book growing up was The Rainbow Fish. There's a quote from there that says something like "the more he gave away, the more delighted he became"
Winnie the Pooh or Dr. Seuss books have good quotes too.
I totally tripped on the sidewalk and stubbed my toes really badly while heading to Starbucks this morning. I seriously could have broken a toe and refused to stop because...you know...people were watching.

I was not a messed up child at all.
All the children's songs I remember end with people dying.
Found a peanut, found a peanut...die anyway, died anyway. Dead skunk in the middle of the road. I knew an old lady who swallowed a fly...and then she died.
@underdog25 I used to have that book too! I completely forgot about it until I clicked your link and saw the cover. So nice that your mom got you a new copy!
mugster, those are beautiful! You grow your own peonies?
Yes! But they were a surprise. We bought the house in July and had no idea what flowers we would get in the spring. But we have peonies blooming in the front bed.

I have done enough work for the week, that I will not really be missed next week. The problem is that I don't really have shit to do today. I need time to go faster!
Didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if this has already been suggested or not, but Peter Pan has tons of great quotes! It was one of my favorite children's books.
"All the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust."
"When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies."
"I'm youth. I'm joy. I'm a little bird that has broken out of the egg."
"You just think lovely wonderful thoughts...and they lift you up in the air."

I knew y'all wouldn't let me down. Peter Pan was the first story I thought of.
The first quote is my favorite. I'm pretty sure I want that in my house somewhere now.

“Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” – The Velveteen Rabbit
And this one. Probably not great for room artwork but this book gives me the feelz when I read it to my son.
“But Mama, but Mama, what if I were a super smelly skunk, and I smelled so bad my name was Stinky Face?” “Then I would give you a bath and sprinkle you with sweet-smelling powder. And if you still smelled bad, I wouldn’t mind, and I would whisper in your ear, ‘I love you, Stinky Face.'” – I Love You, Stinky Face
